Pineapple and Brown Sugar Glazed Ham
We did a huge Thanksgiving this year and I was worried there wouldn’t be enough food to go around. In addition to the huge grilled turkey our friends brought over, I also baked bacon wrapped chicken drumsticks and this delicious ham! My mom would always make this for our Christmas dinner and I loved it, so I hope you guys do too!
One 5lb boneless ham
1 ½ Tbs brown sugar
1 can pineapple slices
I let my ham sit in the fridge overnight after prepping, but it’s not necessarily required for this recipe.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
(1.) Start by making diagonal cuts, about a ¼ of an inch deep, across the entire top of the ham (2.) and then repeat in the opposite direction, making a crisscross pattern. Place in a large baking dish and add just enough water to cover the bottom of the pan. (3.) Pour about a ¼ cup of the pineapple juice on top of the ham and then rub brown sugar across the top. (4.) Next place pineapple slices on top of the ham and “pin down” using the whole cloves. I only used 2 cloves per slice but feel free to use more if you’re worried about the slices coming off.
Cover lightly with foil and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until ham has reached an internal temperature of 140 degrees F. Baste with juice from the pan about every 20-30 minutes. Carve it up and enjoy!
