I’m trying to get better at printing out our photos and hanging them up versus just sharing them on Instagram and Facebook. It’s nice to see those memories in person instead of scrolling through an online feed. I found some old frames at Goodwill and gave them a hefty coat of paint and decided to create hanging frames instead of just tacking them up. Now I can display our favorite photos in a simple and cute way! Check out the easy tutorial to find out how you can too!
2-3 picture frames (mine were 4” by 6”)
1 ½ – 2 yards of ribbon
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Remove the backs and glass from your picture frames and find a well-ventilated area to paint in. Give the frames one to two coats of paint and let dry completely.
When frames are dry lay them out and estimate how much ribbon you want to use and the appropriate amount of space you want between the frames. Cut the ribbon to your desired length. The total length of my ribbon was 45 inches long and I left a 4 inch space between the two frames.
Flip the frames over and put a dab of glue on the top corners of the bottom frame. Attach the ends of ribbon to the two corners.
Use your measuring tape to measure out the accurate amount of space between the two frames, place a dab of glue on the bottom corner of the top frame and press ribbon down. Repeat on opposite side. Add dabs of glue to the top corners of the top from, attach the ribbon, and let glue set up for a few minutes.
One the glue is dry, add your photos, and hang it up!
I’ve seen these frames for sale online and in stores for as much as $40! Why waste your money when you probably have a few frames and ribbon already at home that you can use!
