I’m sorry I’m a day late on Daily Life, but yesterday was my cousin’s last day in Portland and I wanted to make the most of it. We showed her the city, the waterfalls, and the weirdness of Portland that everyone falls in love with when they’re here. Her visit was extremely special to me because it gave us some much needed time to bond that we don’t normally get when I’m visiting everyone back home in Iowa. It was really amazing to see how much we were alike despite not growing up together (we didn’t see or talk to each other for nearly 15 years!). I’m very thankful that we were able to find each other again and make up for lost time. : )

My parents will be flying in Saturday to spend a week with me too! Since I don’t have my girlfriends or other family out here, I wanted my mom to come out and be a part of the process and finding “the dress” is a pretty big piece of it! Sometimes I feel like I’m missing a certain “girl gene.” You know.. the one that makes you want to hold new born babies, gives you the ability to paint your nails (my at-home manicures are a disaster), and makes you plan your entire wedding before you’re even engaged. I’m definitely excited to marry my best friend, but I haven’t been too enthusiastic about the planning process. I’m hoping once we look for the dress I’ll switch gears and get more planned. I promise to share as many details as I can with you too! Wish me luck!
