We did it! We finally started on the living room and added an accent wall! …And I now realize that I’m officially an adult because I got giddy about painting a wall. We’ve been in our place for six months and decided it was time to finally make it our own. In case you were wondering about the small top corner we missed… Since it was a brand new build when we moved in, there was a small corner where the drywall cracked when the house was settling. I patched it up with some toothpaste and now it just needs to be painted. Yes… toothpaste! It actually works!
Also receiving a few fresh coats of paint are some thrift store finds that I’ve been adding to our home for some character. After we finish up a few more projects, I’ll be sharing before and after photos of some of the different rooms in our house, as well as tutorials on how we did it all. And of course I’ve been baking up a storm in preparation for Valentine’s Day. As sweet as this image may appear, you should know that the final product is anything but! 😉
Later last week I also got together with my friend, Lindsey Rickert, who shot my profile and banner image for the blog. She chased between the kitchen and my office/set-up room to shoot a behind-the-scenes look at Tattooed Martha. We had a lot of fun and she helped me with a few pointers on my camera that I’d been having trouble with. I’ll share a full post with all the photos at the beginning of next month and answer questions about my process, camera, and cooking techniques. If you have any specific questions in mind you would like me to answer, just leave them below and I’ll answer them in the Behind-The-Scenes post. Here’s a few sneak peeks that she took while I was working on my Vanilla Cupcakes with Maraschino Cherry Frosting!
Happy Wednesday everyone!
