Right after I typed out the date for my rough draft of this post I realized… OH BOY! I’M GETTING MARRIED IN 1 MONTH! On top of an ever-growing wedding to do list, outside projects, and the blog.. I’m hitting the point of sink or swim. I work best under pressure (this is what I say instead of, ‘I’m a procrastinator.’) so this last month I’ll be kicking monumental sizes of ass!
I took Sunday off to head down to the waterfront with friends and check out the last day of Fleet Week. Unfortunately, due to the ridiculous mile long line of people waiting to tour the ships, they had already closed the tours by the time we got there. We were able to walk up one of the bridges and take a few photos of them though. The Saturday Market was also going on so we were able to wander around and people watch.
Afterward we grabbed a few beers at Bailey’s Taproom where we caught sight of the infamous bagpipe playing, unicycle riding Darth Vader (just Google it). Oh Portland.. this is why I love you! Then we headed over to our friend Erica’s restaurant, The Brooklyn House, for a free cider tasting and cheese plates. The food is incredibly fresh and they focus on farm-to-table, organic, and gluten-free meals. We discussed doing our rehearsal/welcome dinner there instead of at our place since it still had a very intimate atmosphere and then I don’t have to worry about a dirty kitchen the day before the wedding.
I spent some time yesterday working on the centerpieces for our reception. Nothing too fancy.. just a little spray paint and mason jars, but here’s a sneak peek at some of the colors of our wedding. We’re colorful people so why not have a bright, poppy, colorful wedding?!
Oh and for those of you not on Instagram.. I finally shared photos of the big thigh/bum piece Josh has been working on over the last few months. I do apologize for the booty shot, but I literally have a moon on my ‘moon’ so there’s no way NOT to show it! Become a fan on Facebook to see more of his work!
I’ll be posting a quick and easy craft for you guys to try later today and then it’s more wedding planning! I’d say wish me luck, but at this point another cup of coffee would serve me better than luck! 😉
Enjoy the rest of your week!
