Here are some of my favorite photos from our trip to Lost Lake a week ago! If you’re looking for the ultimate camping spot to disconnect from the world for a few days, this is it! I will admit that I had Instagram and indoor plumbing withdrawals after the first day, but I quickly got over it and embraced the peace and quiet and rustic appeal of this Pacific Northwest gem.
The busy summer season is in full swing! Last week we spent a few days at Lost Lake in Mount Hood National Forest for a mini-vacation. The view was breathtaking.. sadly the port-a-potties also took your breath away.. in a bad way! We stayed in a cozy cabin, but spent most of our time outside, reading and cooking over a fire on the lake’s edge. I’ll share more photos from our trip on Saturday!
On Sunday we went to celebrate National Mai Tai Day at our favorite date spot, Trader Vic’s. I got my usual Kashmiri Lamb Sliders with a side of edamame hummus and of course a couple mouthwatering Mai Tai’s!
Yesterday I went on a little adventure with friends to go berry picking! It was my first time going and I felt like I had never tasted real blueberries or raspberries until then! They were so sweet and juicy and it was a lot of fun to pick them right off the bush and eat them. For locally grown organic berries they were extremely cheap and it’s cool to see exactly where your food is coming from! I’m excited to bake mini tarts, pies, smoothies, and juices with the berries I picked. I’ll post more photos and information about the farms we visited next week!
Tomorrow we’re walking over to the Blues Festival on the waterfront to enjoy some BBQ, beer, and live music!
What are your plans for Independence Day?
Be safe, eat well, and have a happy Fourth of July!
