These inks are a joy to use. They are exciting to use wet in wet, and can be used very much like watercolors. They dry quicker than watercolors, so you must plan ahead and work quickly if you want to soften lines. Still, if you don't move fast enough, you can still layer, as long as you start out light and work to dark. I use them often with a dip pen for very fine lines and highlights, and being so fluid, spattering is very easy. The more I play with these, the more I love them, and the more colors I "need".Mary
Let me be specific about the stained glass paint- I used these inks to color Plaid Gallery Glass Window Color Crystal Clear and they do mix in and color the clear while maintaining transparency without issues (that is, using the ink colors that are transparent already). I don't know if these would work for the same purpose in a different clear medium however. It took about 11 drops of the ink to color 1 oz of clear with adequate color depth so a little really will go a long way. My only complaint- and it's not much of one- is that a few of the colors I chose to buy are not as pigmented as others, the Yellow Medium Azo for instance- 16 drops of Yellow versus 2 of Phthalo Blue Green and the color is still more green than yellow. This has been the best way to color the clear than anything else I've tried and I'm pretty happy with them.MK

I typically paint with watercolor and do not really do much with acrylic or oil paint, but this product is really great because while it is wet it will still function a bit like a watercolor or any other ink. You can add water to it to dilute the color and paint it in a similar way to watercolor. It was great for InkTober. I bought super pink and royal purple here while I had to get racing red elsewhere. I needed to dye my wig that I wanted to use for a costume so I used this. I made sure the wig was able to handle heat before trying this and I also made sure that I had wefts of the wig I could test on. (The wig originally had a ponytail that I cut off and turned into wefts for something else) Honestly looks great considering I was starting from a pale purple shade and not white. Its not the color I expected considering I used rits website to figure out how much to use of each color to get the purple shade I liked but I also came into this knowing my wig wasn't white and that the pale purple was gonna add to the mix. The wefts also helped in seeing how long to keep my wig in for. The wig will do better with water that is at 180°F (just at simmering, not boiling) I kept the wig in the pot for 5 mins and behold a darker violet color.Purple Guy
I bought the die to cover stains on my son's gray sweatshirts and to recolor my black jeans. I was expecting a deeper color on the jeans and the color was splotchy on a sweatshirt. I will fully admit the spottiness may have been from my lack of experience with the product. The good news is my son was happy with the end product. It looked like a single-color tie die. I love Rit DyeMore, it's both fun and practical. When I'm at home working, I wear tee shirts all summer and sweatshirts in the winter. Eventually the shirts get pretty shabby looking. Only RIT Dyemore works on plastic toys like hard plastic horses and softer plastic ponies. It says it's for synthetic fabrics, but it's good for so much more than that. If you boil this on the stove as directed, you can dye almost any plastic item you need. This particular one, black, is quite strong, but the other colors work well too. I have always used Rit dye for dying cotton fabrics and have had great results. So, I didn’t think twice to use the Rit Dye More when I had to dye a sweatshirt that was 50/50 poly/cotton. Love these FW paints. Compared to other liquid acrylics, they are more liquid and thinner in texture. A little goes a long way, super easy to use, high color payoff, not streaky, mix well. I love these! My only issue is that many of the shades are near identical colors and the "shimmering green" shade is just a standard white iridescent pearl, no green shimmer at all. I've been using the FW inks for miniature painting through both an airbrush and with traditional brush techniques. They flow great, fantastic pigment density, beautiful saturation. The Paynes grey, White and Sepia make convincing shadows and highlights quickly and easily and the inks dilute down to a wash consistency nicely for working in bulk. I don't actually know if Daler-Rowney FW Acrylic Water-Resistant Artists' Inks are the "Best in its category," never having bought acrylic inks before, but I can say my published art teacher recommended these! Besides I am more than happy with them and "really nice" just doesn't begin to describe how easily a person can make a great picture with them. They blend beautifully and thin nicely with water; one bottle should last a long while because a drop goes deep and wide in coverage. Clean up is easy if you're quick enough. I recommend a Murphy's Oil Soap spray. The inks are opaque enough to cover well a different dried color (though white might take a few layers). I hear tell that spilled water doesn't affect a dried painted area much at all, either. Do you want to make a painting a day? Try these! It took about 11 drops of the ink to color 1 oz of clear with adequate color depth so a little really will go a long way. My only complaint- and it's not much of one- is that a few of the colors I chose to buy are not as pigmented as others, the Yellow Medium Azo for instance- 16 drops of Yellow versus 2 of Phthalo Blue Green and the color is still more green than yellow. Love these FW paints. Compared to other liquid acrylics, they are more liquid and thinner in texture. A little goes a long way, super easy to use, high color payoff, not streaky, mix well. I love these! My only issue is that many of the shades are near identical colors and the "shimmering green" shade is just a standard white iridescent pearl, no green shimmer at all. Otherwise these are great! I like them better than the Golden liquid acrylics, which look thick and streaky compared to FW. #sweepstakesV
I've been using the FW inks for miniature painting through both an airbrush and with traditional brush techniques. They flow great, fantastic pigment density, beautiful saturation. The Paynes grey, White and Sepia make convincing shadows and highlights quickly and easily and the inks dilute down to a wash consistency nicely for working in bulk. I don't actually know if Daler-Rowney FW Acrylic Water-Resistant Artists' Inks are the "Best in its category," never having bought acrylic inks before, but I can say my published art teacher recommended these! Besides I am more than happy with them and "really nice" just doesn't begin to describe how easily a person can make a great picture with them. They blend beautifully and thin nicely with water; one bottle should last a long while because a drop goes deep and wide in coverage. Clean up is easy if you're quick enough. I recommend a Murphy's Oil Soap spray. The inks are opaque enough to cover well a different dried color (though white might take a few layers). I hear tell that spilled water doesn't affect a dried painted area much at all, either. Do you want to make a painting a day? Try these! As an artist (Kassius Fine Art on Facebook) I had previously only used Ranger Tim Holtz inks until trying the Jacquard Piñata Colors and what a difference! I love the vibrant colors and how they flow through the smaller tip, giving greater control over the flow of the ink. The colors are true and beautiful. Unlike Ranger ink, the yellow is actually yellow…not a muted blah color which is very disappointing in Ranger alcohol ink. I only wish that there were more colors of Jacquard available. If there were I wouldn't touch another Ranger ink again. Highly recommend.Kassius
I have tried several brands of alcohol inks and Piñata by Jacquard is my favorite. The ink pigment is more concentrated than others and stay true to the colors. I particularly prefer the metallics over Tim Holtz Ranger's metallic inks for how the medium reacts when applied dried ink. The brass is my favorite.Sleepless Artist

These inks are a joy to use. They are exciting to use wet in wet, and can be used very much like watercolors. They dry quicker than watercolors, so you must plan ahead and work quickly if you want to soften lines. Still, if you don't move fast enough, you can still layer, as long as you start out light and work to dark. I use them often with a dip pen for very fine lines and highlights, and being so fluid, spattering is very easy. The more I play with these, the more I love them, and the more colors I "need".Mary
Let me be specific about the stained glass paint- I used these inks to color Plaid Gallery Glass Window Color Crystal Clear and they do mix in and color the clear while maintaining transparency without issues (that is, using the ink colors that are transparent already). I don't know if these would work for the same purpose in a different clear medium however. It comes in a tiny bottle but gives you quite a large surface coverage. I have found it adheres well to most surfaces including wood, paper, canvas, ceramic and plastic. Because it is acrylic based, it is compatible with epoxy and lacquers. It leaves you with a lovely metallic / pearlescent sheen which has a varying effect depending on the angle you look at it from. I really like these inks They work very well on Crescent Boards. (also on watercolor paper) I like to use a few drops of in , maybe two colors , strategically placed and then using a fine spray of water ,misting them. They bloom like flowers and make an interesting background for abstract art, collages and even watercolors. .janet
I use this ink for drawings on canvas. I combine the Daler-Rowney FW Pearlescent Ink with Uni-ball Rollerball fine point pens to create my drawings. I have been using this acrylic ink for years and its always of good quality and consistent in coverage. The shimmer it gives off enhances my drawings no matter if used in the background or on my subjects themselves. I mostly draw insects and animals. I highly suggest using it. I've used Daler Rowney, and another I can't remember off the top of my head, and liked them. I was looking for some metallics in acrylic ink. I've used and liked Liquitex products, so I saw these and bought them in multiple colors. I regret that. I knew they were too thick for a dip pen. I tried to thin it out with airbrush medium, but the end result made it frustratingly low pigmented.Kelly
