American Cancer Society Wig Bank Locations For Sale (2023 Update)

This is more of a first impression review as I cannot attest to the wearability just yet. What I will say is I don’t understand for the life of me why Raquel Welch puts that awful strip of lighter colour at the hairline, who actually highlights their hair to look like that?? It looks so obvious to me and I just can’t get past it. Ive put darker powder over the hair to try and conceal it but it’s a poor fix. I can’t see how people like that feature. Just keep it rooted as the rest of the wig! The lace front is OK, but I’ve tried virtually every wig on the market and feel Jon Renau still makes the best lace fronts. This wig is very similar to Code Mono by Ellen Wille. I do love that it’s not an overwhelming amount of hair, quite realistic. I have thinned it out around my face just for that added touch. The length is nice and the razored ends are pretty, though I wish the bangs were longer as to keep from pushing off my face but great for someone who wants to wear a full bang.Ashley

As I've gotten older my hair has gotten thin and I just hated the way it looked. I went thru trying so many wigs and couldn't find anything I felt looked like my real hair until I came across this wig. I absolutely love it!!!! I love the way it looks because it's the style I always wore my own hair in and they happen to have it in my exact color. It's also of great quality and lasts. It's also great that you can style in many different ways. If it gets a bit knotted I wash it, spray it while wet with leave in conditioner, wait for it to dry and flat iron it or curl it. (The shampoo and conditioner are specially for wigs) I am constantly getting compliments on my hair and meanwhile I'm wearing a wig. When I first started wearing it close friends and family thought I just got my hair done, when I told them it was a wig they were stunned. They cannot get over the fact that it's not my real hair. I will continue to buy this whenever I need a new one and will try some other colors as well. One more time let me state I LOVE THIS WIG!!Christie R.

Have worn now for sometime, not sure how many ordered to date. It wears about 1 month or a little over before I have the desire to change. I haven’t had the greatest success when washing; maybe not doing it correctly. While it does look the same after washing, the feel is no longer the same; it appears to dry out and does not flow or feel soft like it previously did. In the past I would always buy human hair wigs only, and low and behold the experience of washing and wearing again was the same. So, why spend $200 for the human hair, which gives just gives you about the same life before replacing it.Dori M.

This wig came with the hairnet ripped and barely on the wig, which looked like it had just been thrown helter-skelter into the box. The wig had obviously been worn – it was stretched out (and my head is 22 3/8"!), the bangs were bent out of shape, it was frizzy and there was product in it…. This was a final clearance sale wig so I couldn't return it – but I still think that WigStudio1 should not have sold a wig in this condition… I wonder if they'll print this review…Maggie M.

I wish the bangs were swept and light. It was more a layered blunt bang. The hair was very soft and the permatease is minimal. I liked Lasting Impression better even though it had permatease all over since the look mimicked my own hair. The hair in the front was easy to tame and didn't fall in my face either. Can't wait to see Fashion Staple by Gabor next incase I want a longer look that I can custom trim. It looks like a longer version of Lasting Impression with flipped, frizzy (probably dry) ends. I tried Stepping Out since I was getting tired of hair falling out of control in my face… with most long wigs without bangs. But I didn't like the bangs on me, but they might be good for someone else. The cap was very comfortable. Finally found my natural synthetic color in 10/12 after 4+ years of searching RW, LF, Envy, Amore, etc. If you describe you hair color as Medium Brown (without any reddish tones near the root… but you see very slight reddish midway down to the ends due to sun exposure)… You also see goldish mixed in with slight reddish midway down your hair to the ends, try a Gabor style in 10/12. If its too light, then try 8/10. 8/10 is good when I want to go a level darker. Thank you for the customer service along this journey!Janna

This wig is a great wig. I bought it in color 6/33 It was a bit lighter than I expected due to colors so theroughly blended. I was expecting more 6 and less 33. Still a nice color.. Fit is a little large , but average is a bit too small. I think I have felt with the problem bo sewing in clips at the base of the back. . Hair fiber density is nice. I deal with flyaways with a spritz fine mist water. I only use a wide tooth comb and spray it with leave- in conditioner. The part is realistic. The only way this wig could be better is if it had a full mono top and perhaps a lace front. I have this wig in the platinum blood as well. I'm still searching for the perfect dark brown with dark auburn highlights.Kay B.

Not received. 4 weeks no reply. Call to check status of custom ordered wig, no reply. Since this was my first time ordering from this site, I thought it was a scam. It all seemed weird to me, so I canceled and requested a refund. There should be better communication, hire someone who only deals with customer service, if you're too busy making wigs. I love this unit ,(Cornrow-Lauren – (26-28)inches tailbone length / (13*4) virgin lace frontal) it's very natural looking , the braids are neat, the wig is not heavy at all . I would definitely recommend this company in a heartbeat . Then only thing I didn't like was it took over 9 weeks for me to receive my units , I actually purchased 3 units one being GODDESS LOCS-POSH which I knew would take longer that the others , what I didn't know is they would hold the other two so they could ship all 3 units together . But Vivian took care of me in the end and the wigs are great so I will say is was worth the wait .Katrina

This is the beginning of my journey so my issues may be just that I am starting this journey kicking and screaming. I know all the YouTube reviewers say this is wonderful and fun but it isn't what I want to do – I wish my bio hair looked like this wig. It is lovely – soft and flattering for probably anyone. However, I may still return, I have tried in on for a bit several days in a row, still not sure. These may be things I just have to live with now that I have to do this to have normal 'hair'. 1.) Lace front – if I do keep this one, I will NEVER buy a lace front again. Unfortunately, it is very hard to find a nice, well made hairpiece without it because everyone else seems to love lace front – NOT ME. I don't like that you cannot pull your bio hair out from under (I know that it is great if you have no hair, but I have plenty around my face and would like to incorporate – Sincerely Yours by RW was perfect but too short). And though it DOES look very nice (I really didn't think it would look so realistic, it truly looks like a real hairline up close), it is HORRIBLY itchy. Like stiff, itchy netting and I can't wait to take it off. Maybe if I try gluing it won't itch so much? 2. I TOO much hair, as with most all of the hair pieces. While I can make this one work because it thankfully isn't LOADED up with that fake feeling/looking permatease (I know some people love it, I do NOT on me), it is still GOBS of hair. I push my hair behind my ears and I would have to have massive ears to fit the gobs falling in front of my face behind my ear; it is like trying to tuck a large rope behind my ear. Not sure why manufacturers think someone who has had hair loss or very thin hair all of the sudden will feel comfortable with a wooly mammoth strapped tightly to their raw noggin. Again, this one could be okay because I could take thinning shears to it and make it work if I keep this wig. 3. Speaking of the front bit… as other reviewers remarked, OMG does it want to go in your face. I don't want to use any product or heat on it yet because I am not sure I am keeping it so VERY difficult to tell if it will work because that is absolutely a problem. Would probably have to thin and cut that into layers – it is very pretty but no one goes around with a big chunk of hair hanging down like that all day. All of the hair on the cap is geared to go absolutely FORWARD, not sure why. It is something that would have to be worked out with heat, water and product. 4. Cap construction – Not super comfortable. Again, this is all new to me so maybe I am doing something wrong. I am using a wig grip so not sure if that adds to my discomfort. I will say that the seams around the mono part are thick and itchy. I would rather a whole mono top or a basic cap, rather than that seamed bit. Too much going on in the cap. So – if you are a regular wig wearer, this style will probably work for you; I am just not use to all these itches and things going on my head. Sort of like a pretty but uncomfortable underwire bra – you can deal but can't wait to get it off at the end of the day – that is how it feels for me. If this had the cap of the Sincerely Yours, I would have found my piece. Again, not sure if I am returning or not, but it is so expensive for me, for them not to be spot on. I need something that looks like ME and I can wear every day and it looks like normal, non-poufy, non-shiny hair and isn't going to rub my ear or itch my head, etc. I am probably hoping for too much. 🙁LJT

Cap is so comfortable. I had to cut on the bangs a little because they went directly into my eyes. However! The color more than made up for it. The eggplant shade is absolutely beautiful and perfect for the fall season! If your bio hair is or was brown and you are looking for brown yet with a twist of pow…. Choose this color! I have yet to be disappointed with the Raquel Welch brand wigs. Thank you Wigstudio1 for always getting my orders to me in such a timely manner. Makes me so happy to know an order is heading my way. I just wish I had discovered wigs many years ago when I started losing my bio hair would have saved me many tears when I was buying every product out there to get my hair back. I‘m a huge Raquel Welch wigs fan, it’s my favorite brand. And I had my eyes on this style for a while and think the stock photo looks fabulous. But it’s my first and last style in regular synthetic. I love the True2Life HD fibers by Raquel Welch, they look and feel like human hair. But these are just extremely shiny and it has a lot of hair! The color Glazed Sand is really nice and the lace front on this style is impeccable, and as this was my first unrooted color, it’s even better and more undetectable than the rooted colors. But everyone tells me that this style looks like an old woman and I‘m just too young to look that old… 😅 Of course Wigstudio1 is not to blame, their service was first class, as always!Sarah C.

The quality of the wig is excellent. The only problem is not the wig, it is my small face. There is just too much hair. I will order again but a wig that will suit my small face. I have resold the wig to a friend and have begun shopping for something else now that I realize that less hair would be appropriate for my small face.Hermenia

I had been on a hunt for reds and decided on Harper in 130H. I have NO regrets! She is GORGEOUS! This is my 3rd Harper, as an indication of my satisfaction with this brand and style! I have one in 7H that I purchased and a 614GR that was gifted to me as well. HM fibers always feel dreamy. Harper is a long voluptuous beauty in any color with loose flowing curls/waves and beautiful movement. HM as a brand is very comfortable for me to wear, I would say they are true average (my circumference is 21.25). I have had to cinch in the adjusters on all my HM styles and the caps have wonderful stretch. I still have bio hair to cover and the caps easily cover my hair and a wig grip if I choose to wear one. I even wrote Henry Margu company to see if they have different qualities of the same wig and maybe sell seconds cheaper or that is even a thing. Waiting to hear backtobagojoe

I bought the product for my 15 yr old daughter who has cancer-related hair loss. I was a bit concerned when I saw it in the box that it would not be enough hair to really cover her head and look good, but I was wrong. The fit was perfect (my daughter's head size is on the small side) and there was absolutely enough hair to make it look authentic. I would buy this product again and recommend it to others.PO

I have purchased several holos from you in the past by this brand. Over the yrs. I’ve seen the quality drop. The Hugh band is extremely uncomfortable, the hair has become sparse and doesn’t really resemble your beach wave comments. I have also purchased your hats with hair and found the hair gets less and less. You must be using cheap labor. I’m greatly disappointed.Debra K.

This is a cute halo. My only disappointment is that it requires a lot of detangling at the end of a day. This happens even when I use the proper wig care products on it. After wearing it, I have learned that this is not uncommon for a synthetic wig. So it's cute, just be prepared that it takes a lot of time for upkeep.Debbie H.

I fell in love with the wig the first time I saw it. I ordered it and when I got it and unwrapped it, it looked just like the picture. But to my dismay, I could not wear it. I did not understand what the "Lace Front" meant. I had purchased two other wigs in 2011 after having Ru-N-Y surgery because my hair was getting thin, at that time I purchased the full cap wigs. Needless to say I had to return the wig and hopefully reordered a couple of full cap wigs. But, to those out there who has more hair on top and wants this wig, it is beautiful.Ramona

This wig is truly beautiful. I'd like for it to have been a lighter blonde with less brown but the style makes up for that. I haven't even worn it yet but keep trying it on, waiting for a special place to debut her. I do think it is a little overpriced since most of Paula Young's wigs are far less expensive. The quality is excellent though. I can't wait to wear her. A glamorous wig that will look good with jeans, too.Linda

I took a chance with this purchase. $29.99 EXCHANGE ONLY. But, boy, I was surprised. Out of the box, it was such a fun messy look, I loved it immediately. In fact, I loved it so much, I ordered a second one, same color. Now here's my caution. The second Kelley arrived and, sadly, it was not the same. I returned it to exchange for the $29.99 Piper wig. My fingers are crossed I'll have a happy ending here. So to be continued. Meanwhile, I'm having a blast with this Kelley. Dark Brown is the color.Susan N.
