I have ordered several wigs from Paula Young & have been totally satisfied! The customer service is excellent. The prices are very reasonable! I have to admit, The Sheer Drama wig that I received a couple weeks ago or less, was my first disappointment. The cap is so sheer, that you can see dark hand tied knots a lot through the top. The wig color is Platinum 101. The dark knots actually made me squeamish! They looked like it had lice throughout it!! Being an RN, I had to really look closer & touch the lice-looking knots, & confirmed they were NOT Lice. It was advertised as whisper light- yep it’s so light you see through the cap!Bobbi
This would be a good wig for someone who is not new to wearing wigs. Straight out of the box the wig had a strong plastic like smell. After washing the smell was much less, but still there. Hoping this will fade with time. I have a large head but took a chance and ordered this anyway (average size). It fits very comfortably. The description says ""100% hand tied"". It is not. The top half is hand tied, the bottom half is sewn wefts. The hair is thick enough to be styled in a messy updo. The hand tied knots,on the top, are not bleached. If you order a medium to dark color it shouldn't be a big problem. If you are a light color you will need to camouflage them. This is not a lace front. There is a fabric band across the hairline that will make styling challenging. This would be a very comfortable wig if you had little to no hair. If you are willing to spend time working with your wig this could be a good choice for you.Raven
This is my first wig. I did my research, and chose Sheer Drama. I lov the waves and style My hair is long but falling out. I live in South Florida so my hair does not keep any curl in the humidity . Ok I thought perfect, I’ll have a full head of wavy hair and the color is a perfect match. Sadly I have a small head and cannot keep the wig on no matter what I do. I bought a grip but no help. Hair is shedding as I unpack it from original package. Ends and curls are frizzy and does not look as shown on website. I called I was told it will cost me about $10 to exchange. Why? I ordered two of these wig styles. I wore the gray one to a mother's day brunch. As I was standing by my car, a lady called out Madia as she was passing by in her car. She thought I looked like the Tyler Perry character. I will never wear that wig again. The black one was designed with way too much hair. The hair does not fall correctly and it has too many layers. Sorry for the long post. This wig is really nice and the hair with the rooted color looks just like real hair. I got the pecan delight rooted, it’s a dark brown root color with medium/light golden brown hair with some subtle golden blonde highlights blended in. Very close match to my real hair. Warning I did purchase another wig in pecan delight without the rooting and it just comes off too light, like a very light golden brown. Without the rooting I would go to the next shade darker or maybe even two. I did have two issues with the wig. They won’t stop me from buying another one. The first is that the wig I got was longer in length by a few inches and bulkier, a lot more hair, than in the photos. I did have to give the wig a trim and I did thin it out with thinning shears and it’s perfect. The second issue, which I know I played a huge contributing factor too, is that after fixing the wig to my liking, the ends are already dried out and frizzy. I did get rid of about 75% of that appearance out of the wig. I gently hand washed it and pat dried it just little so it wasn’t soaking wet. Gently combed it out with a wide toothed combed. Starting at the ends, I applied It’s a 10 leave in conditioner with a couple drops of a silicone based heat protection. I then lightly sprayed the wig with a coconut oil heat protectant spray. Gently combed through again and air dried it overnight on the open wire wig stand. I was amazed at the difference and it is holding up nicely.Debra
I wanted to love this wig but the only thing I did love was the color, Buttered Toast. I had searched for a mid length wavy wig and thot I had found it but sadly I just couldn’t get it to work. The back has tight curls but the sides were looser and the left side bangs were so long that I couldn’t do anything with it . I finally did clip it back but it just didn’t look right. I wish I hadn’t cut the tags off so that I could return it, but guess I’m stuck with it. Hopefully, I’ll figure out a way to fix the long bang, perhaps my hairdresser can help.Jeanne

I was apprehensive about losing my hair to cancer and wearing a wig. Wigs are actually quite fun and have been a bright spot in this ****** journey. Getting ready is so easy and you feel like a million bucks with no effort! Ariana was the 4th wig I purchased and I have to say it’s my favorite. It feels the most natural for me as my bio hair was long and straight (not as long as this but I’ve always wanted really long hair so hey, it’s a win). At first I thought it was the best wig I have ever bought. The cap stretched after the first day and slips off. The hair dries and tangle in the back and falls out rather quickly. I had bought another wig poor cap but much better hair for a lower price. Being this expensive it should last for quite sometime. Nora is a delightful fluff and go style with waves and almost curls. I got it in color 38, which is light ash brown with grey. It is supposed to be light ash brown with 25 percent grey (it seems a bit more than that;) It would be nice if Paula Young had at least one style featured in this color. The ash brown is very close to my natural color (a bit lighter) but Nora has more grey than I do personally. Nora arrived smelling absolutely wretched; I almost gagged when I opened the box. I had to wash the wig immediately. I used Paula Young shampoo. I thought I detected the (fumigant?) odor even after the wash, but when Nora dried, she no longer smelled. When I first put her on after she'd dried she was not pretty and the curls were mashed against the cap. I shook her vigorously and then took a wide tooth comb and really brought the fibers up off the cap. I wasn't rough, but I was deliberate in going over the entire wig to revive the fibers. I was able to achieve a style very similar to the catalog photo. In my photos, Nora has a more shag-like appearance, but once on she can be fluffed to the rounded silhouette of the catalog photo. Nora fits my 22.25 inch head comfortably and could be adjusted to go even a bit larger, or smaller. I find the fibers dry to the touch and just a bit coarser than my own very fine hair (although Nora's fiber does not look coarse.) Nora is comfortable to wear and an adorable style that goes with dressy as well as casual outfits. If you are prepared to spend a few moments waking Nora up after you first get her home, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at her fluff and go versatility. When this DANCE wig and COLOR ME EXQUISITE wigs arrived, upon removing them from the box they were cute, and the colors were pretty and the best thing they had going for them, However, they didn't look much like the ones the models in the pictures wore. And there is too much perma tease or "fluff" to them. They had really no style to them at all. Especially in the front, just couldn't do much with them. And didn't want to try since being careful with them is a must when trying them on. Very disappointed with these wigs. In my humble opinion they were not great and not keepers. So I am returning them and probably won't buy anymore wigs again. Sorry PY but your wigs need to be lighter weight, lay nicer, (some of us like a bit flatter style) far less perma tease or fluff, easier to wear right out of the box…Thanks anyway…Juanita
I am completely disappointed with my purchase. I ordered two of this wig because I really like the look of the style in the picture. The wigs I received will not comb into the style shown. The top is spiked and will only stand straight up and the bangs stick straight out and will not lay nicely against the forehead. I tried to tame it down with wig spray and hair gel but it won't lay down. The top hair stands straight up and the bangs stick straight out. The wig will not comb into a nice smooth pixie like the picture shows. I would not recommend a person buy this wig unless you want spiked hair that stands straight up at the top of your head and bangs that stick straight out at your forehead. It has been over 15 years since I had a human hair wig. I tried one previously and it was I’ll fitting and looked very unnatural. This wig, however, fits comfortably (it’s honestly still slightly larger than what I’d love and I just mention that in case anyone is nervous hearing that it is more on the petite side. I wish it were more petite!). I do, however, love the amount of hair in Cascade. It’s thickness looks very natural. The fibers tangle too easily. I can't do anything without this wig tangling and matting in a weird way. It's embarrassing to me and now I have to replace it after only 2 months of wear. I've tried conditioners in hopes of coating the fibers and reducing friction, but it doesn't last even a whole day. I have been impressed with the construction of the cap. Considering I have to brush the wig out many times throughout the day, I'm surprised that the crown hasn't thinned badly. Many wigs come already too thin in the crown, but not this one. The Chocolate Mix color is nice. Other wig brands use fibers (heat friendly and otherwise) that can be smoothed every day or two with a straightener on low heat. Frizziness is not the issue with this wig. It just can't handle friction.Carrie E.
I'm a big fan of Elite, which will always be my favorite EW style. The cut on this one is great and similiar to elite but with more face framing layers in the front which very modern. The hair so silky and such a natural looking density. I'm having a hard time though with the colors. Not sure if they changed the colors but cannot find hot chocolate mix my go to for elite and few other older styles, in the newer styles. Also, the same color in different collections look somewhat different. I purchased this in dark chocolate mix and starting wearing it recently and don't see too much highlights, granted i haven't washed it yet, for some reason that makes a difference sometimes in the fiber. I have amina in the same color and although a rich brown you can see all of the highlights, this has more of a inky look, I can wear easily as my eyes are very dark and my coloring is okay with it. I definitely love this style, and will someday down the road when i can get a good deal try the chocolate shaded. This wig is a bit out of my budget so cannot buy full price at the moment.Jen G.
