I just received my order yesterday. The scissors are fine but the file is not a quality product at all. I washed it with mild soap and water to disinfect due to covid, and this is how the file looks. There is no option to upload a picture of the file that’s now all peeling. Very unhappy. I saw the same product on amazon for $20 but did not buy it from amazon as they sell a lot of fakes. I'm a little disappointed with the product. While it does file the nail, it does take a lot of time for it to be done. And it also works best for longer nails as it's hard to get close to the skin with the file. Not really suitable for toe nails that hug the tip of the toe as they grow so will need to continue to use the nail clippers for those. This is my preferred method for trimming nails on newborns as it works so well on little fingers. Only let down is that they do mean it when they say in the manual to “remove batteries if storing for long periods”. We had one for my first son and then stored it away for ~18months before we got it out for my newest baby. I'm not sure about anyone else, but for me cutting my babies nails is such a hassle. She's at this stage where she's very aware of everything around her and CAN NOT sit still. So having a little extra support on the nail clippers is essential. The silicone grip makes it hard to slip or get knocked out of my hands, and it even has a little ring on the bottom for me to slip my finger in for more control. And I'm not sure if this was an intentional feature, but the baby nails dissappear into the grip instead of just going all over the place for me to collect when I'm done clipping! Clipping baby nails has always been scary too me. I'm so worried something will happen to hurt my little one. I have tried a lot of different clippers and scissors but they all make me very nervous. I got this pair of silicone clippers to try and I am so happy with them. They feel secure in my hand so I don't worry about them slipping. They're not really small like some baby clippers which actually makes these a lot easier and more secure to handle. The silicone cover makes these really easy to grip as well as protect baby from sharp edges. I really like that. The cutting edge is rather wide and kind of flat instead of being so rounded.
