I'm a little disappointed with the product. While it does file the nail, it does take a lot of time for it to be done. And it also works best for longer nails as it's hard to get close to the skin with the file. Not really suitable for toe nails that hug the tip of the toe as they grow so will need to continue to use the nail clippers for those. This is my preferred method for trimming nails on newborns as it works so well on little fingers. Only let down is that they do mean it when they say in the manual to “remove batteries if storing for long periods”. We had one for my first son and then stored it away for ~18months before we got it out for my newest baby. It seemed to have eroded inside around the batteries and wouldn’t work anymore hence we purchased a new one. I just brought my newborn home a few weeks ago, and this was an essential product considering newborns have razor sharp nails. I waited till my angel fell asleep to try these Easy Grip Nail Scissors. It works pretty well. The grip is perfect, and I love the case that comes with it. My daughter didn't even notice I was clipping her claws. They do take a little practice though because it's hard to clip tiny nails. I have had to go over her nails again sometimes when they still seem a bit sharp. I have a full sized golden retriever and this worked a lot better than expected. It has two settings and the lowest one works perfectly. It has 4 or 5 different sized holes in the top that keep you from shaving off too much. I had never used this before and didn't want to use the clippers because I was afraid of cutting them too short. With these he'll pull away if he feels any uncomfort. I got all of his nails over a two day period and it's almost addicting. There's really no cons about this tool. If you go to fast you can smell some burning of the nails but that's only when you push too hard.Brian
I’ve bought two of these. The first is a bit quieter then the second one. I think it works great and my dog (Chinese Crested) hates her nails clipped however she sits for the nail grinder without much fuss. The rough brown attachment grinds down faster but is a little noisier. The stone like attachment smooths and is more quiet. I like this item. The only reason I bought the second one is I needed attachments and it was just easier in this time of limited stock. Don’t know what I would do without it because otherwise I would have to make trips to the groomer at my vets office.Snepp
This is crap! I bought this today, and it didn’t even last 3 minutes. The second speed never worked, so i was forced to work with the first that would randomly stop. Until the screw that kept the sanding band on sprung off and cracked the safe guard. I tightened the screw and it popped off again in less than a minute. After many attempts trying to cut the baby's nails, she kept moving her hand and I've searched online for other options that wouldn't be "scary" or "alarming" to her. Found this on eBay and Walmart was a little cheaper but faster shipping (with Walmart ). Now my oldest (toddler) watches me file her nails and they both like the little light that is on when you turn it on. Different pieces (tips per age group) and more manicure types (I'm not familiar with being a guy that mainly cuts my nails). This us a great set. I recently purchased this nail file because the other one I bought for my baby had the motor break down after a year of use. After unboxing this one, the case is very sturdy and has a button latch that opens easily with one hand but would difficult for a toddler to open. I love the on board light that allows you to see those tiny nails closely with a plastic guard that keeps little fingers from poking the rotor and stopping the action. There is also no need for batteries as it has a charger to refuel its power. I also loved the on off controll. You turn the dial to start and then adjust the speed with the dial. It also helps keep those little busy fingers from turning the file on or off and allows a slower speed.
