The top and base coat bottles look identical to their gel polish color bottles except for the fact that the text on the bottle indicates which formula is which. Each bottle has a sticker on top of the cap that says "Base" and "No Wipe Top" so you can easily find them if you store your polishes inside a box. I used a 1 minute cure time with a UV/LED lamp for each layer of base, color, and top coat that was applied. Thin coats are key in getting the polish to last, as is doing the proper prep work to your nails (buffing and cleaning the surface) prior to any application of the formula.The base coat is slightly tacky after curing it, which helps to get the color coat to stick and not shrink. The top coat is a no wipe formula which leaves a smooth surface and a plump and glossy shine. As for the durability, a manicure done with this base and top coat along with an Aimeili color gel lasts for 14 days with minimal wear to the tips and hardly a chip in sight. Individually, the base and top coat sell for $6.99 each, but as a set, you will only pay $9.99. This is insanely cheap as you get 10 mL of polish in each bottle. Other gel top and base coats easily cost more than double that price for even less polish inside, and the ones from Aimeili are of an equal quality to them, if not better. This is probably one of my favourite nail polishes. I love the shade of green and the non-goopy application of it. It’s also lasted longer than any of the other expensive polish brands I own (all the ones that promise no chips for two weeks and then they chip next day no matter how careful you are). I’ve gotten a bit less than a week’s wear out of it, but even now it’s only a couple chips on a few fingers, which is to be expected because I’m a mom of young kids, so I am constantly doing something with my hands and washing them. I see other reviewers mentioning how sheer applications are, which is true, but it just means you need a couple extra coats, which honestly isn’t a big deal; I find that most polishes, no matter how much coverage they give you, need additional coats anyways. I bought this last weekend and tried it this week, but the colour was really streaky and thin. I checked the website which says apply two coats and then allow to dry for 5 minutes. Not sure what I could've done wrong because I shook the bottle vigorously and allowed plenty of time between each coat, and it was as if the second coat of step 1 dissolved the first coat, and the brush was scraping back the last coat of colour when I applied the second coat of step 1. My natural nail was showing through the polish after a second coat. After I applied the top gel coat (step 2), it was still tacky the next day! The shine top coat also seemed to dissolve the pigment and drag it around as I brushed the top coat over the nail, so after the Step 2 coat it's left patches in my nails with no colour now. One of my nails weirdly turned out matte after I put the gloss coat on it. I have had much better results from cheap $2 brands but this was over $30 for the set of step 1 and 2 polishes, and it's so fussy and I can't do anything with my hands for hours after applying because it'll ruin the finish. Dries quickly, so apply quickly and carefully. This is a great middle ground between regular polish and real gel, meaning it is great for home use. You can get thick coverege that hides your ridges without needing to buff your nails if you do 2 color and 1 top coat. This is the worst 🤣 it's trash. I really had high hopes for this. I got it for mother's day. First, it came with a faulty power cord. I had to switch it around with one that I already had for it to turn on. Secondly, It doesn't actually cure the gel polish. I made sure to put it on very thin, But it deposits almost no color. After two coats that was supposed to be purple in brown. The lights are so minimal that You're not sure if it's actually hitting the areas that needs to. I ended up curing for 3 minutes on each layer and it still did nothing. When I went to put the top coat on, The nail polish was still completely liquid. In the end I ended up being able to wash my hands with soap and water and get it all off. Waste of an hour.amberlee.j

Ho Ho holy moly! This is an AMAZING polish! Most glitter polishes (which is the version I’m reviewing) smear when you put them on or don’t show up at all. This Deep Sea Diamonds polish shows up and then some! It not only has small glitter but bigger pieces as well which makes it super sparkly! I’m wearing it over a darker color but you can definitely wear this on its own. Two coats is all you need but you can get away with one. I’ve professionally done nails for over 20 years now and you name the product and most likely I have tried it! I enjoy this product a lot. There are so many gel products out there but this one… I like the large assortment of colors and I like that the consistency of the product isn’t too “thick” feeling or looking. A nice thin coat does the job! And I have noticed- if applied correctly- the gel lasts well over a week for me. And I’m super rough with my hands. Only took a star off because of price and how literally every person can get these so called “professional” gel colors etc. Like why did I spend so much money to go to cosmetology school just to be able to grab what I need at the CVS down the road?
I was terrified to try this at home. I have had my nails done for years. I took a chance and my nails are beautiful. I went back and bought more colors, designs, I purchased things to make it even easier on me. I keep thinking of all the money I wasted. At least, I know now and people compliment my nails just like when they were done professionally. My nails are real and long. I couldn’t believe when I removed the gel, dip, my nails are not damaged compared to when they file the top layer, like they did at salon. Thank you for such a wonderful product. When I started I expected set nails. Don't fret when you find them wet and tacky after curing. You need to top coat, cure and then use blue nail surface cleanse and it works perfectly. Had to call Sally's to learn that, but glad I did and didn't give up on the product. Love it!Cynthia M.

I am so excited for my new gel nail polish kit! I love the pink and it came with 4 other great colors to choose from! It was super easy to use, I found simple step-by-step instructions online and my nails came out so well! It did take me longer the first time, but it's worth the money since I won't need to go back to the nail salon to have my gel nails done. It's definitely worth it. IDIOT PROOF!!!!!! This was the best money I’ve ever spent. No more 45-60$ manicures (not to mention the cost of pedicures!) I love how easy it is to use, I find myself doing my nails at least once every few weeks and gelish is very easy to remove with the correct acetone products. The learning curve isn’t too bad, you need to be careful not to apply too close to the nail bed, seal the tips and apply thin even coats. The only issues I’ve ever had with gel manicures is that they can sometimes peel off. This is due to my nails not being completely free of oils and dehydrated before application. After a few tries you’ll be a pro and the money you’ll save is incredible. Everyone should get one of these!katya.l
This product is absolutely worth every penny spent. I had been spending $30+ every two weeks just to keep up with gel nails, so it basically pays itself off in a couple of times! The only reason this gel polish doesn't get a 5 star is because it is an absolute pain to get off. I can soak it and soak it for what seems like hours and I still have to file it off or scrape with an orange stick. The colours are beautiful, it is easy to apply for a beginner and it doesnt pool at the edges of your nail. Another great bonus is that the top coat does not require alcohol wiping, so for those with tight c curved nails, like me, you get much better coverage and top coat seal!kayla.m

Who knows when their overhead mechanism was made. I had the manual and that was no help. So the hardest part was finding the correct setup code [which I then wrote down]. But it does just exactly what it is supposed to do. But do keep your manual. Sometimes a power outage will require a reset. I know someone who bought a new one rather than pay for a repairman which would have cost MUCH more., all because didn't keep the manual.lorilohman

I actually have the 16 color + base and top coat kit but it wasn't available for me to select. All in all, this is a nice kit. I probably won't use some of the shades but it had the best option on Amazon for neutral + glitter combinations. The shades I am wearing in this photo are 030 (the pink), 108 (white as a base for ring finger), and 278 (gold glitter). I like that they included the base and top coat; which makes it easy to do a complete look. Warning – the bottles with the actual shades are quite small. Only the base top coat are full size. But that's okay with me since I wanted to test out the formula and sample their shades prior to committing to a full size bottle. Overall, pretty good…for now. We shall see.vicki.n

The polish had a strong smell. This smell (after painting my nails) would eventually disappear in a couple of days. Experience using it: I painted the nails on both hands, using neither a base nor top coat – two thin coats on my left hand, and two thick coats on my right hand. The bristles of the brush fanned out readily, covering my whole nail (and more, for smaller nails) in one fell swoop. Thinner coats dried fairly quickly, while thick coats took forever (45 mins!) to dry. After drying, my left hand had semi-sheer paint (this made the colour look like the pinkish taupe on the website), while my right hand had opaque paint (purplish taupe). The polish was glossy enough to make me skip putting a top coat. The polish lasted for over a week, but the polish on the sides of my nails chipped away within 3-4 days of applying the polish. That said, this only happened to the nails of fingers I use the most; the polish on my ring fingers and pinkies remained completely intact (I'm still waiting for them to show signs of wear). Even while chipping/wearing away, the polish remained perfectly smooth and pearly on my nails. I'm sure that, if I did a better job of applying the polish and used a top coat, the polish would easily last much longer.April

Although I love Essie Nail Polish, I will give an honest review for this product. The colour that I got was Jewels and Jacquard. The outcome of the colour is actually prettier than I thought but it is not a colour that I would personally pay for. I prefer colours that my outfit can easily match. I love the brush the Essie gel couture nail polish has; It makes it very easy for me to apply. The Essie gel couture nail polish also dries in no time. If it were not for this colour, I would say that I totally love this Essie gel couture nail polish. I received this as a #freeproduct from Top Box to review. I have used this nail polish before and its a great polish to use. It lasts a lot longer than other nail polish brands, so you're not always having to redo your nails. Normally I wouldn't use such a light color, I prefer brighter more bold colors, but this pink was pretty on my finger nails. I do recommend using a primer color under this pink (Gossamer Garments) unless you like the sheerness of light pink. This was a cute color for my toe nails. I did find the brush to be a little big for my nail bed, which would leave a little polish on the side of my toe, but nothing a q-tip and remover can't fix! This nail polish dries quicker than most other brands as well! Overall I love Essie Nail Polish and will continue to purchase their line, I would recommend this brand to friends or family!Jennifer

I bought the shade “tea time”. I’m a big fan of pinky browns and neutrals. I wasn’t expecting much from this product because regular gel nail polish doesn’t last on my nails…. but boy was I surprised when I opened this up! The color glided on smoothly and with ONE coat my nails were covered thoroughly. The color is great and hasn’t chipped or cracked/flakes off yet! It was affordable (so much so than some of these other brands) and didn’t require a UV light or lots of time to dry. I would highly recommend!
I don't usually buy nail polish and definitely not this brand. When I do get any it'll usually be Esse or OPI. The only reason I got this brand was the color. I painted it the first day and it dried pretty well. The next day it was all fine but I wasn't even doing much hard labor or anythinganything, just "normal" things and I noticed the polish was cracked!! Not one or two fingernails but almost all. Upon application of the Polish it did give a great shine and all of the coats with put on even lie. I allowed it to try and which it gave an amazing Shine for the first three hours of application however as the night continued on and the Polish dried it did not give the shine that I was looking for. As I went to bed late hoping this would try within a decent hour it loses its luster of the Polish and you can tell that it's very dull on the nail. I even applied a clear coat on it to see if it maintains and shine in which it did not do that at all. It does take a long time to dry, I found it up to four maybe five hours before it's completely dry. I will attempt to use this again with another color to see the application and dryness levels of this however I may not use this again.charee.m
