20 Best Gold Nail Polish (2024 Update)

The nail polish is nice. applies easily and dries a bit faster than other brands. during the first few hours it'll get scratches or texture until it's 100% set. (it was completely dry when I went to sleep, passed the fingerprint test, but had random scratches the next morning). after it dried it became seemingly indestructible. I work in a warehouse, I use tools and have my hands in machines all day and it didn't chip at all. (I used 3 coats) however i had another shade that chipped and budged just from washing dishes and playing with a one year old. in any other case I'd say its way too expensive to risk getting a shade that has a 50/50 chance of chipping easily, but target has a good return policyM

I used the JINsoon Power Coat Strengthening Base Coat, followed by 2 coats of the Essie Light Lilac, then the JINsoon Top Gloss Quick Dry Top Coat, and finished off with the Essie Quick-e Drying Drops Nail Polish Treatment and my nail look AMAZING! They actually look like I've got shellac on. And what's even more amazing, they dried SUPER fast! It took me maybe 10-15 minutes to do the application, and then I let dry for maybe 20-30 minutes and they were completely set. I was able to get dinner ready and do the dishes straight away with no denting or smudging! This is a game changer! I'm now on day three and they still look as good as day 1! Essie has great new limited edition fall colors just in time for "swetta weatha" and I'm really feeling them. I have Feelin' Amped, High Voltage Vinyl and Off the Record. My two favorites are Feelin' Amped and High Voltage Vinyl. Feelin' Amped is an intense but unique blue that reminds of a mix between cobalt blue and peacock blue. You only need one coat of polish since the polish covers very well and has a really smooth, shiny finish. This color would also look amazing if you added a mattifying powder to it as well. High Voltage Vinyl is a gorgeous onyx base with gold. I didn't like it very much at first because I was probably still in summer mode, but now that it's fall, this color would go perfectly with a pair of black jeans and a black leather jacket. It's an interesting color since it takes on olive green tint in some lights, but in the sun, you can definitely see the beautiful gold tones. Off the Record is your classic, elegant wine color. It goes well with any outfit and any skin tone…You can't go wrong with a nice merlot color…it's perfect for this season and the next!Lovely1

I really like the pale pink shade. The shade, called Sweet Surrender, is soft and feminine. I love the brand: the nail polishes are always glossy and easy to apply. The reason I took away 1 star was because after 2 coats, the color was still weak and I needed to apply 3 coats to have the color really show. I don't usually like 3 coats of nail polish since it takes forever and lots of time to dry. Still, with lots of time and 3 coats, it is a pretty polish.beckah.m

I used the color “Hot Rod Red.” The brush glides easily, bristles are sturdy yet flexible, the color is vibrant and only one coat is needed. The Sally’s employee told me Morgan Taylor polishes provided a gel like effect and were better than OPI – so I bought two shades plus the top coat. First time, nails were cleaned, top coat applied, air dried and one nail cracked and peeled on the first day. Second time, nails were lightly buffed/filed (mid nail bed to the free tip), polish applied, left to air dry and lasted about 3-4 days until I had tiny cracks way on the end of the free tips. Plus this was surprising after doing many chores. PROS: • fast drying • one coat is enough • perfect brush tip • no UV light required • consistency is just right • beautiful array of shades CONS: • top coat was not effective • top coat made polish peel faster • cost is okay ($10 each)maribel.d

Fabulous colour – great polish. I was pleased to find this on line. I had gel nail polish applied in a salon in the same colour which lasted well .I wanted to go over it to colour in the nail bed growth until my appointment to have the gel removed and re done next week end. This worked perfectly. Ill use it again when I do my own manicure another time. The polish was a good price and arrived quickly , well packaged. I may be late to the OPI Mexico City Collection's Spring 2020 release, but at least I finally found that rad yellow creme! With my pale, pink-toned skin, finding a yellow that is saturated without leaning too dark, pastel, or neon — AND has a 3-coat (or less) formula — is a real challenge. I got my hands on this color after stumbling into an Amazon sale (the "Buy at least $20 worth of these selected items, get $5 off" kind? It was the first time I tried it out!) where a few of the OPI Mexico City colors were included. I had heard about this color for a while, and watched nail polish swatchers on YouTube include it in their side-by-side yellow polish comparisons every season, but I could never find it in-stock at a reasonable shipping rate until that sale. Score! As you can see from my photo, it's a slightly lighter yellow, but it works like a standard yellow on my fair skin when compared to darker shades. It pops in just the right way! Plus, its formula is 3 coats maximum for full opacity, which is hard to achieve with yellow polish at any price point. (Don't you hate it when a color of polish is sold as the brand's "standard primary color," only to find out it takes 4 or 5 streaky coats to achieve that color? So many polish brands do that with yellow and white, even at the salon level. No, thank you!) I've been in in a real yellow mood this summer, so I'm so happy to find a great color that works for me in 3 coats and doesn't chip easily after a few days!elizabeth.o

Did you know that OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark was one of Kim K's favourite nail polishes in 2011? (Totally true, look it up.) I, for one, think it's time we restore it its former glory. I have been wearing Mod About You since it was first introduced to the OPI line. It is the most gorgeous shade of pink I have ever put on my hands and toes. Every year when spring comes, it's one of the first things I buy (along with my favorite self tanner). It truly makes me happy! It's a beautiful shade that I have never seen duplicated by any other nail polish line. It has a underlying blue-ish base mixed in with the pink and it works so well with my skin tone. When it comes to nail polish, I tend to be quite skeptical especially since gel is a go-to. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this Essie polish due to its color, application and wear. In terms of color, this shade looks great with one coat or multiple depending on the look youre going for. And since it has a nice shimmer to it, it doesnt show imperfections or chips either. I love natural colors, so this one was an A+ for me. Because you can really build up the opacity of this polish, this made applying it really easy with three main swipes across the nail. And due to the shimmer, its really forgiving even if you do make a mistake. The brush was also quite flat and wide, which helped with the application process. (Drying time was quite short especially if you do thin layers). This polish was also great in terms of wear and is still holding up well after a good week of wearing it. Granted I did apply a topcoat, this still held up through housework and doing dishes by hand. In all, Im a big fan of this shade of Essie polish and think it would be perfect year round if not an easy to upkeep color in the summer months on my fingers and toes.AleksandraM

I am obsessed with Essie, that’s all I have bought since 10 years ago. I have tried Tuck it in my Tux and few others and decided Marshmallow has the best hue!!!! I love the color, not too white not pink, just right. The formula however is horrible. The first couple of times after opening the bottle is great except in order not to get streaks you have to apply 3 coats. After a few days of opening the bottle, the formula gets thick and clumpy and not usable!!! Also, the mandatory 3 layers make the nail polish to peel off in a day or two because it’s simply two thick and rubber feel like almost. Please note this is a constructive review for Essie, I am asking you to please change this formula since I love your products. I would love others to enjoy this wonderful nail polish but at this stage I am not able to use this color anymore. I don’t like anything with sparkle or shine and neither one of your colors mimic marshmallows. The open bottles show the clumps on top. Unfortunately my video would not upload. Please helps and fix this formula. I have wasted so much money on this nail polish tossing bottles after bottles!!!Want to Love Essie again

I bought this because the box claims it makes nail polish (at least OPI nail polish) last much longer before chipping ("up to 11 days of gel-like wear and shine", actually). I work with my hands and I feel the act of painting/doing my nails is way too time consuming, so it is very important to me that my nail polish stay put and stay unchipped for as long as possible. I used this kit exactly as directed, applying multiple coats of each bottle, used my OPI brand Infinite Shine Long-Wear nail polish (the recommended nail polish to use with this kit, I used the gorgeous, sexy red shade "An Affair in Red Square"), and let dry completely. My nail polish WAS very shiny and pretty when it was done. However, in one or two days my nails were already chipping. I really hate spending half an hour to an hour (natural drying takes forever) doing my nails only to have them get messed up after one or two days at work. So I just wear my nails completely bare basically all the time. I only use nail polish and do my nails maybe once every few months. So does this nail kit make your nail polish shiny and pretty? I suppose so, even though nail polish is shiny as-is. It does make your polish look more gel-like. Does this nail kit prevent chipping for "up to 11 days"? Well I suppose TECHNICALLY yes, it was "up to" 11 days… But *I wouldn't use or recommend this kit to prevent chipping of nail polish if you work with your hands.* It simply doesn't work well for that. I have yet to find anything that will make any nail polish last longer than a day or two without chipping, while I hold a job in which I constantly use my hands. So if you want gel-like nail polish, I recommend this kit, and you should get that gel-like result with any nail polish you use with it. However, if you are looking for anti-chipping, I don't recommend this kit.kira.d

I've used OPI products since I was a little girl. It's long been a favorite nail care brand of my mother's. She went through many years where she would only wear I'm not really a waitress, I still associate that color with that ideal woman we always wanted to be when we grew up. So, when I was offered to participate in this cashback campaign, even though I had never used any of the infinite shine products, I knew I would love it. It's even better than I thought!!! Alpine Snow is an old favorite color of mine but the blue color: To Be Continued is new to me. TBC is a beautiful light baby blue that is mesmerizing! It would work in literally every season and I do think it would be beautiful on most skin tones. The OPI formula has always been a winner. I was glad to find all the shades I was looking for through the Ulta.com app but had a hiccup with customer service I had never encountered before that got me a little ruffled. It was quickly shipped but with excessively poor packing that damaged the chrome paint on the bottles. Which I am fortunate was the only issue cause the way they packed it could easily have broken everything in it. To which I wrote CS and they did not seem to care. So I expect nothing will change. I am not real happy with the downside I have seen shipping and handling customer care from Ulta lately. Onto the actual polish. It’s a lovely shade of light pink with no nude/ brown town to it. Just above ballet slipper. Though it looked a little more watery than I prefer, it did not run at all and I had good control with each layer. I tried a thin on and a thicker one to check coverage. You can get good coverage with one layer done thickly. If that is your preference. Dry time isn’t to long, either. By the time you get through coat one, you may be ready to do coat two. It’s not matte or satin but not a super shiny color either. Just a pretty petal pink for spring.heather.f

It's my own fault. I keep buying Sally Hansen products and 90% of the time, they disappoint me. This one is my biggest mistake. Like other reviewers have said, The Moonstone color looks much more appealing in the bottle. When I paint my nail, it's so thin and barely shows. I have to do three coats just to see anything. Unfortunately, it looks and feels like those cheap nail polishes meant for children. I figured it could be used as a cute top coat since it's so clear, but it goes on clumpy and somehow there's tiny air bubbles? The only positive is that it does dry within 60 seconds. I got this back in June from my local sallys beauty store, to paint my nails before I left for California. Never painted my nails until today. The bottle is not even 3 months old and omg it is horrible. The color is so beautiful but the application was applying like it is was a oldie. Streaks, very splotchy not at all impressed. Even with the double duty polish by sally hansen there is no saving this horrible nail polish. Air bubbles, smears so easily even though I waited 10 minutes to make sure it was dry. Nope not at all saveable. Will never use this company nail polish again. I will just keep using opi. So disappointedLaurenak89

It’s possible I got a bad batch, but my experience with this polish was terrible. I got the ‘My Ca-Banana’ colour. The first time I used it, I couldn’t get it to go on my nails evenly at all, it was extremely streaky and formed clumps that wouldn’t smooth out. I kept trying and ended up needing to do three and a half coats to get it opaque. I let each coat dry in front of a fan on high for 10 minutes, and 20 minutes after I had finished, I bumped my toe into the corner of a table and the polish came right off of that nail in one clump. I initially chocked this up to me not having painted my own nails in a very long time and maybe just doing too many coats so I took it all off and tried again.
I did two thin coats, drying for 10 minutes between, over 40 hours ago now and I can /still/ press my fingernail into it and leave an obvious dent. It was tacky up until about 24 hours after applying. Dont bother with this nail polish, any other cheap nail polish would be better.Onyx Cave

I *love* this color. Very smooth coverage in one coat, and even better color payoff with two coats. It is a nice teal color in bright lighting, and looks like a dusky evergreen in low lighting. The color is amazing. It is like graphite—almost black with a subtle slate shimmer. However, I find this color tricky to work with. It shrank up during the curing process, and it took four thin coats to build up the color. This left me with a thick manicure that was a bit sheer toward the cuticle and free edge. I definitely think this is a good color for your collection, but I think it will take some practicing to get the right coverage.Jessi

I really like compact foundations and this one does not disappoint. I ordered Candlelight and it was perfect for my light/medium freckled skin. I'm 64 and have dry skin. Anyone considering setting up an at home gel kit with Gelish…. JUST DO IT!! I had never been that into nail polish since I always dented it as it was drying, it could get everywhere, and even if the application looked perfect, I knew that would last 48hours max before chipping. So I tried gel. I purchased a starter kit with Gelish and a small LED lamp back around 20019 and I've never looked back. My collection continues to grow and grow and I finally upgraded to the best LED lamp in the market – the official big Harmony lamp which is amazing. Also, my nails always were weak and peeled. Now I have long, strong nails that people enviously comment on. I could talk about this forever but here's what you need to know. Don't buy UV – it's suspected to be dangerous for skin and takes a long time. Just go LED – Shellac is really the only brand that's stuck in the UV land. Almost everything else is LED compatible. You only need to buy the Gelish base, a colour, and the top coat. You don't need PH Bond or cleanser or remover or anything else (you may find your nails are particularly oily and require the PH Bond later, but experiment first rather than wasting money). Where to buy these things? If you're in Australia go to Harehouse Warehouse to look at the colours. They sell Minis for $20 which is wayyyy too expensive. Then find a seller in your State on eBay (to minimise postage costs) and buy full size bottles from them for $20 once you've picked a colour in real life at the shop. The branded cleanser and remover are just expensive ways of buying rubbing alcohol and 100% acetone respectively. Just go to Bunnings and stock up. There's so much you can do once you've mastered the basic gel mani. Look into stamping (you can start with Konad as a brand – there are others, but this is a good quality popular one to start with), embellishments like rhinestones, pigments that can be combined, striping tape, dotting tools, etc. I'm always discovering new ways to build my repertoire – there's no limit to what you can do. Start following nail people on Instagram and build up a library of ideas to browse when you sit down to do a mani. This is such an easy and relaxing process – it's definitely how I treat myself every 1.5-2 weeks. I sit down, remove my last mani, prep my nail and create something new and amazing all over again while watching some telly and eating chocolate. It's great. And I'm ALWAYS getting compliments on my different manis – from friends, shop assistants, anyone.rugile.k

I received this color, Sea Foam Gelish Polish and was really excited to used it. I have been doing my own gel nails now for many years. I have the highest quality professional lights and I know what I'm doing. This color would not cure under the lights. I received a replacement and the replacement also would not cure. I tried 5 other colors of the same brand to make sure my lights were working. Yes, they all cured exactly as expected. I tried curing this color longer. 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes. Still would not cure. I was careful to use thin layers and use the same brand base and top coat. Still no cure. I'm sure sad about it. I really wanted this color to work. I’ve used Gelish gel nail polish for years ever since I’ve started doing my nails at home to save money. It was the gel used in the salon I used to go to so I was surprised to find it so readily available first at Amazon and later at Sally Beauty. I like that the colors come in smaller sizes so they don’t dry up by the time you use them. I also like that the top coat and base coat come in larger bottles. For around $10 a bottle, the gel polish lasts a long time before drying out or becoming clumpy. This stays on well and keeps its true color. I could probably go 3-4 weeks, but my nails grow quickly and I’d prefer to do them every two weeks so they are always looking fresh and pretty. You do have to cure the polish with either a UV (older polishes) or an LED light (newer polishes), but these lights are available on Amazon as well. Gelish comes in 192 colors, according to gelish.com, which is insane, so you have plenty of colors to choose from. If you want to see all the colors, definitely check out Gelish.com. I recommend this gel polish and will continue to purchase it although recently I’ve been buying a brand called Beetles which comes in kits and sets, is super reasonably priced and works just as well (also available on Amazon- just search Beetles gel polish).wendy.r

So I have an obsession for glitter like true obsession! Love everything that has glitter. When L’Oreal launched few glitter nail coats I always wanted to try the golden one as it adds an extra charm to ur nails and make them look happy and bright. So this one comes with chunks of glitter and mind u the glitter looks really pretty when worn single or on any matte shade. It makes my nails look like disco ball which I love! I usually wear double coats being a glitter lover. My advice would be to place the glitter rather than dragging it as u would get little amounts when dragged. The maximum life span would be I say 3-4 days after that it may start chipping off. My personal favourite would be over a black or red nail paint. They are quite affordable and widely available. L'Oréal, L'Oréal, L'Oréal…. you bloody legend. Thank you. I was given four of your beautiful shades as a gift and it is by far the best nail polish I have ever used. I have a thousand bottles of every other nail polish brand in existence but I never had I had such an effortless and long lasting experience. My first impression was that bottles are really cute, with all your vibrant colours and gold lids. The 5ml bottle is smaller then other brands but will give me an opportunity to try all of your gorgeous shades. I applied Perle De Jade first and as a girl who typically only wore reds and pinks I feel liberated. This gorgeous Tiffany blue colour looks amazing on my hands and has a perfect gloss finish. I applied two thin coats without use of a base or top coat, and found that the polish was so easy to apply. It was a great consistency and glided on effortlessly with the large brush (Even my right hand had perfect application- that never happens to me). The colour is very pigmented and rich, with a great gloss after drying. The polish dried really quickly so I could be back to business straight afterwards. Because it dried quickly I had no issues with smudging or ruining my manicure (which happens to me most times I use other polishes). Two thin coats without the use of a top coat has lasted me over a week without any chipping , peeling, flaking or going dull and i haven't had to do any touch ups. I have since gone and applied a beautiful coat of Scarlett Vamp which is a gorgeous deep red on my toes and had another effortless application. Overall, L'Oréal has become my new favourite nail polish brand and I am going to race of to the shop to purchase these in every shade (as well as a top coat). L'Oréal nail polish is one of my favorite products in this brand. I have several colors and I really really love them. They are very pigmented and never patchy. they take a bit of time to dry but it's worth the pay off at the end of it all. this is my preferred brand to take to the nail salon for my session. they have a nice color selection. My favorites are the bright colors in their collection. I really recommend these polishes to people they are worth the price.justine.m

I absolutely love the color! It's one of the most striking nail polishes I've ever used. However, I can't get it to stay on for more than 24 hours… I've tried it with a base coat and top coat (as well as without), I've tried two coats instead of three, and I always get the same result: it chips and peels off in less than a day. That's the only reason I didn't rate it higher. If I could figure out how to get it to stay on, it would be five stars for sure. 🙁Jill Z.

Nostalgia is absolutely gorgeous and I was really stunned by the staying power. I'm not super gentle with my hands but 2 coats lasted me a full week with minimal chipping. You definitely need at least 2 layers of polish for opacity's sake, 3 is preferred in my opinion. To my eye, the polish shifts from golden green to a grungy rose color that almost veers into maroon territory. Not a lot of copper, mostly rose. This was my first purchase from ILNP and wow, I was not disappointed.Kate

I love this color! I always love a nice deep red nail color and Elderberry was exactly what I was looking for. Ever since I tried this brand about a year ago I have thrown out my cheaper, short lasting drugstore nail polish and replaced them with different colors of Londontown. I can typically get my nail color to last a week on my fingernails whereas my old polishes would usually last 2-3 days before they started chipping badly. I am hard on my nails doing a lot of housework, dishes, washing cars, etc. but this nail polish lasts through it. It also seems to strengthen my nails when I wear it regularly. The picture I attached is of my toes today, I painted them about 2 weeks ago and the color hasn't chipped a bit.Leslie

I received Invisible Crown as a gift along with Cheerio. I'm generally not a sheer polish lover. I also don't usually gravitate towards pale pink tones. I am honestly shocked at how much I love both these colors. Invisible Crown looks especially gorgeous on my nails. It drys like a high gloss gel manicure. It is so elegant and attractive and clean and fresh … I can't stop wearing it. I just keep going back for more! I also did one manicure with a layer of Cheerio and a layer of Invisible Crown just for fun. Love it!!! Invisible Crown makes a great background polish for holiday nails. 😍 just sayin! This company excels at sheers. Creams are a little less reliable. I'm buying the rest of the sheers so I have them all. They're THAT good. This one has more color than teatime. It's a bit more mauve/brown than pink. Same flawless coverage. 100 percent streak free with one coat. Goes on like no other polish I've used. Creamy in application, and color. Don't know how long it lasts, because I so enjoy doing it every other day 😀 Poor lighting but teatime on my middle finger, crowning crumpet on my ring finger. Clear on rest. One coat. Streaks are actually in my nail. I guess I need to heal and buff a bit longer. 🙃 Highly recommend!TigerLily
