i cant say enough good things about opi. i use so many of their products. this product is a 3 in 1. it works as a base coat, a top coat, and a strengthening formula. it’s clear, but it looks so good on the nail. it’s strengthens my nails really well. and it’s easy to apply other coats to it if you want. or stickers. would definitely recommend!jennifer.f
Sorry but, I'm not as generous with the stars on this as everyone else. Yes, it does go on matte as many others have said, but should it get 3 stars just because it's only able to do that?! A top coat isn't just for looks/aesthetics but also function, it's supposed to protect the color and aide in lasting/durability. I've painted my nails since I was a child and I'm in my early 30's so I've used a fair amount of brands and colors, never have I ever seen a top coat lift color from a dried nail; I thought the issue was that I used a black of a different brand so maybe it was the mismatch, so I went and bought an OPI black and it did the same thing. Even more, it doesn't matter how long you let it dry the first day you practically can't do much because it will smudge or lift in someway, even if you touch it and it seems dry…so this isn't something that you can do when pressed for time. Then, another weird thing about this top coat, is the fact that it doesn't really chip off, but rather, it rubs off or even washes off. Overall, this is a huge miss and major disappointment given that it's OPI! I'm harsh in my review because it's OPI and we have come to expect a certain level from them which is why many of us are willing to pay more for it; however, this performs worse than the old wet n wild polishes, Revlon, or those little bottles of polishes that were super cheap (can't remember name). Basically, this isn't something I will purchase again from them and I am highly suggesting to anyone reading the reviews prior to buying to look elsewhere this isn't worth it, trust me.Not impressed OPI fan
Not impressed. At first it goes on great. No bubbles and any streaks from uneven application just flatterm right out. It's so matte that it just seems to absorb all light, especially on a dark polish! Then, as soon as you touch something, it gets marked up like flat paint on walls. After a few days it seems to mostly wear off, leaving your nails less shiny than a regular top coat, but still reflecting light. Be prepared to freshen your top coat regularly.

I've used Revlon Nail Enamel more years than I care to admit. this has always been my "go to" polish, in shade Serene (320) for work and :play:, Once in a while I'd lighten the shade up i the summer, but always back to the favorite. No, apparently it's been discontinued and what's left around is way too expensive to even think about buying. The biggest thing I love about this polish is it didn't destroy my nails. After taking the polish off, my nails weren't dry, brittle, chipping and didn't break as much when kept polished. Tried the gel nails once, took me months to get my nails re-grown, needless to say, I went right back to a lite shade of the enamel, then back to Serene. Won't make that mistake again. Question is, what shade will work as well as that, have Totally Toffee, but it's a bit darker and I absolutely don't do pinks or weird color. Am a porcelain skinned strawberry blonde with green eyes and reds/pinks look horrible on me. Any color with a gray overtone makes my nails look like they are dead. So, unless I can talk Revlon into bringing back that particular color, anyone have any ideas on shades along that line?Gigi
I really love this polish. Beautiful colors. I really like 276 Vivacious. The color really lasts. I get 2 weeks of non chip wear. I use a base coat. This polish. 2 coats. Then I go over it with a coat of Revlons Gel Envy. It hold up extremely well. I am really pleased with this polish.Neil

As the title says, it's a nail polish. I haven't noticed anything particularly spectacular about this particular polish over others with similar claims. It hasn't made my manicures last longer or kept my nails from chipping any more than other all-in-one or base coat/top coat in one polishes. Pros wise, it's a nice viscosity, which makes it go on easily without much mess. If you load the brush properly prior to applying to to your nail, you should be able to get a nice even coat without much hassle (which I can't say for all products in the same category). And while this may not mean much to some, I appreciate Essie's bottle design because it makes storage much easier. While other brands more aesthetic designs may look nice, unless you have dedicated shelving unit or other display for your polishes, storing them can be difficult and take up far more space than necessary. All in all, in my opinion this product isn't something to write home about, but I wouldn't phone it in either. I would definitely choose this over several of it's competitors with similar claims and price points simply for the above mentioned pros of easy of application and storage.Siriuslestrange1
I am a huge fan of Essie's nail products and also recommend this new All-in-One Base and Top Coat as well now. I have brittle nails that easily get stained and require a basecoat and top coat as well as a nail strengthener whenever I use nail polish. Essie's All-in-One Base/Top Coat is basically the one-stop product that I use due to convenience since it works as both a base and top coat. I do have to mention that this product has a quick expiration date and the formula and texture changes over time. It becomes thicker, less spreadable, and a bit less efficient when it becomes old. It works best when it's fresh, so it works especially well for those who consistently use nail polish in quick succession and not for those who might use it over a long duration of time. Overall, I am quite satisfied with it, but as I'm one of those lazy people who only use nail polish sporadically, a bottle of these usually lasts me quite a long time and ends up with some wasted.RDCn
I bought this in hopes it would give a better shine to the pink essie polish and base coat I already had. I've used the pink alone with two coats and 30 min dry time between coats with zero problems. It typically stayed for 3/4 days before wearing off so I thought the top coat would help it stay longer. I applied the polish exactly as before and waited a full hour after the second coat of color to apply the top coat. I touch tested the color and made sure it was fully dry before applying top coat. I applied top coat on one hand. After an hour, it still wasn't dry and when I tested it, everything was wet and the all the polish came off as if the color layer was fully wet. I draped a paper towel on the nail and all the polish stuck to the paper and came off the nail. The other hand, without top coat, was still fine a day later. I've tried again on one nail waiting for the color coats to dry overnight before applying the top coat and same effect. It's as if the top coat re-wets the color polish and just never dries. I really like the pale pink shade. The shade, called Sweet Surrender, is soft and feminine. I love the brand: the nail polishes are always glossy and easy to apply. The reason I took away 1 star was because after 2 coats, the color was still weak and I needed to apply 3 coats to have the color really show. I used the color “Hot Rod Red.” The brush glides easily, bristles are sturdy yet flexible, the color is vibrant and only one coat is needed. The Sally’s employee told me Morgan Taylor polishes provided a gel like effect and were better than OPI – so I bought two shades plus the top coat. First time, nails were cleaned, top coat applied, air dried and one nail cracked and peeled on the first day. Second time, nails were lightly buffed/filed (mid nail bed to the free tip), polish applied, left to air dry and lasted about 3-4 days until I had tiny cracks way on the end of the free tips. Plus this was surprising after doing many chores. Fabulous colour – great polish. I was pleased to find this on line. I had gel nail polish applied in a salon in the same colour which lasted well .I wanted to go over it to colour in the nail bed growth until my appointment to have the gel removed and re done next week end. This is probably one of my favourite nail polishes. I love the shade of green and the non-goopy application of it. It’s also lasted longer than any of the other expensive polish brands I own (all the ones that promise no chips for two weeks and then they chip next day no matter how careful you are). I’ve gotten a bit less than a week’s wear out of it, but even now it’s only a couple chips on a few fingers, which is to be expected because I’m a mom of young kids, so I am constantly doing something with my hands and washing them. I see other reviewers mentioning how sheer applications are, which is true, but it just means you need a couple extra coats, which honestly isn’t a big deal; I find that most polishes, no matter how much coverage they give you, need additional coats anyways. When I use this polish along with the Miracle Gel top coat, I get a solid week out of the nails before I get any chipping. Usually I only have to repaint them when the nails are growing out too much. Dries quickly, so apply quickly and carefully. This is a great middle ground between regular polish and real gel, meaning it is great for home use. You can get thick coverege that hides your ridges without needing to buff your nails if you do 2 color and 1 top coat. I'm in the process of replacing all my existing polishes with Miracle Gel versions.LH
I purchased “Once Chiffon a Time” It is transparent in case any one is wondering. Polish lasts about a week without any major chips on regular nails. I wish it lasted longer, but it is only store bought polish. I like this line because the top coat always makes them look salon finished. If you’re getting the color Once Chiffon a Time just be aware that it takes about 4 coats to get to the color that’s in the bottle and you will still see your natural nail line. (Not sure what to call it) Dries quickly but still a little tacky and can smudge if you’re not careful. Make sure you have quite a bit of time to be still. Disclaimer: I received this product as part of a "mission" from Topbox Circle. However, the opinions in this review are my own. #freeproduct #trywithtopbox #ad #freesample First impression(s): The colour of the polish was slightly different than the pinkish taupe on the website – the polish was more of a purplish taupe with luxurious pearly tones. The polish had a strong smell. This smell (after painting my nails) would eventually disappear in a couple of days. Experience using it: I painted the nails on both hands, using neither a base nor top coat – two thin coats on my left hand, and two thick coats on my right hand. The bristles of the brush fanned out readily, covering my whole nail (and more, for smaller nails) in one fell swoop. Thinner coats dried fairly quickly, while thick coats took forever (45 mins!) to dry. After drying, my left hand had semi-sheer paint (this made the colour look like the pinkish taupe on the website), while my right hand had opaque paint (purplish taupe). The polish was glossy enough to make me skip putting a top coat. The polish lasted for over a week, but the polish on the sides of my nails chipped away within 3-4 days of applying the polish. That said, this only happened to the nails of fingers I use the most; the polish on my ring fingers and pinkies remained completely intact (I'm still waiting for them to show signs of wear). Even while chipping/wearing away, the polish remained perfectly smooth and pearly on my nails. I'm sure that, if I did a better job of applying the polish and used a top coat, the polish would easily last much longer.April

Although I love Essie Nail Polish, I will give an honest review for this product. The colour that I got was Jewels and Jacquard. The outcome of the colour is actually prettier than I thought but it is not a colour that I would personally pay for. I prefer colours that my outfit can easily match. I received this as a #freeproduct from Top Box to review. I have used this nail polish before and its a great polish to use. It lasts a lot longer than other nail polish brands, so you're not always having to redo your nails. Normally I wouldn't use such a light color, I prefer brighter more bold colors, but this pink was pretty on my finger nails. I do recommend using a primer color under this pink (Gossamer Garments) unless you like the sheerness of light pink. This was a cute color for my toe nails. I did find the brush to be a little big for my nail bed, which would leave a little polish on the side of my toe, but nothing a q-tip and remover can't fix! I used the JINsoon Power Coat Strengthening Base Coat, followed by 2 coats of the Essie Light Lilac, then the JINsoon Top Gloss Quick Dry Top Coat, and finished off with the Essie Quick-e Drying Drops Nail Polish Treatment and my nail look AMAZING! They actually look like I've got shellac on. And what's even more amazing, they dried SUPER fast! It took me maybe 10-15 minutes to do the application, and then I let dry for maybe 20-30 minutes and they were completely set. I was able to get dinner ready and do the dishes straight away with no denting or smudging! This is a game changer! I'm now on day three and they still look as good as day 1! I bought this recently at a Walgreens. Like most glitter it looks better in the bottle than on your nails. I love this line and honestly want to get the white because the white I have is very runny and hard to work with. This is first and only color of the line I've had an issue with and I've bought like 5-6 shades. The large glitter when you apply sometimes never attaches to the nail. Nude nails don't show it very well. I tried for an opal look and a black accent nail. It just gathers the glitter if you try to restroke at the end of the nail. Basically I can only imagine applying a dozen thin coats at a time and hoping to get lucky that the glitter lands. Better off with decals. I got this back in June from my local sallys beauty store, to paint my nails before I left for California. Never painted my nails until today. The bottle is not even 3 months old and omg it is horrible. The color is so beautiful but the application was applying like it is was a oldie. Streaks, very splotchy not at all impressed. Even with the double duty polish by sally hansen there is no saving this horrible nail polish. Air bubbles, smears so easily even though I waited 10 minutes to make sure it was dry. Essie gel couture matte top coat is a very nice product. I love that the bottle is unique and twisted. This product has a viscosity that is not too thick but not too thin either . I love that it's a gel top coat that doesn't need to be cured with a uv lamp. The shape of the brush allows for the Essie gel couture matte top coat to go on easy and even across the whole nail. It instantly makes shiny nail polish matte but with a hint of shine. I've tried it with the other Essie polish it came with and with other brands .I have found that it works better and look better on darker colors . On lighter or pastel polish it doesn't look as good . I have Also learned that if you don't spread the Essie gel couture matte top coat evenly it will bubble. Over all a great product. The polish had a strong smell. This smell (after painting my nails) would eventually disappear in a couple of days. Experience using it: I painted the nails on both hands, using neither a base nor top coat – two thin coats on my left hand, and two thick coats on my right hand. The bristles of the brush fanned out readily, covering my whole nail (and more, for smaller nails) in one fell swoop. Thinner coats dried fairly quickly, while thick coats took forever (45 mins!) to dry. After drying, my left hand had semi-sheer paint (this made the colour look like the pinkish taupe on the website), while my right hand had opaque paint (purplish taupe). The polish was glossy enough to make me skip putting a top coat. The polish lasted for over a week, but the polish on the sides of my nails chipped away within 3-4 days of applying the polish. That said, this only happened to the nails of fingers I use the most; the polish on my ring fingers and pinkies remained completely intact (I'm still waiting for them to show signs of wear). Even while chipping/wearing away, the polish remained perfectly smooth and pearly on my nails. I'm sure that, if I did a better job of applying the polish and used a top coat, the polish would easily last much longer.April
Let me start by saying how much I was blown away by the bottle of both the Essie gel matte top coat and the gel color in V.I.Please! I have never seen a bottle that looked as if it was melted and twisted for a nail polish before so I absolutely love that! I started by using the gel color in shade V.I.Please and was super excited with how pigmented it is! One swipe on my nail had it completely covered and bold bright beautiful color!!! After letting it dry (which doesn't take long at all and doesn't need a U.V light!!!!) I wanted to test the gel matte top coat over top of the color. And at first it just looks like a normal top coat. But I could watch as it slowly started becoming less and less shiny until the top coat completely dried. It dried down into a beautiful matte finish! Not TOO matte to where it looks like you tried coloring your nails with sharpie or anything like that. Haha. The perfect amount of matte. And the matte top coat didn't negatively effect the color of coverage for me at all, which is an issue that I have experienced with other brands and types. This is the best matte top coat I have came across thus far. And I am in love with the bottle and the fact that its gel that does NOT need a U.V light which is a huge win in my book. I really like this matte top coat. It dries quickly and leaves my polish super matte. I'm really bad with smudging my nails, and I smudge them less when I use this top coat. It's not streaky either. It lasts a couple days before the matte effect starts to wear off, and my nails start to get a weird half matte/half shine look to them (if almost looks like they're oily?), so that's why I knocked a star off. I've had this for a while and I've tried repeatedly to get it to go on correctly. I do my own acrylic nails and nail art, and I'm really big on mixing shiny and matte nails, so I figured this would be perfect. Well, wrong. I will say that this top coat does go on smooth and even, but… it only applies as "matte" to the first nail I paint. The first nail is usually a beautiful, frosty finish and it's beautiful (I usually apply it over black). Then I proceed to coat the next nail… and it never, NEVER comes out as matte. It's not as shiny as a regular top coat, but it's far from matte. I'm doing my nails at this very moment and I have taken the polish off my thumb and have redone it about 3 times because of this top coat, I try again and it's STILL not matte, after 3 times I'm over it. My ring fingernail is beautiful though, I just don't get it. It's not just this time either, it has been EVERY TIME I have tried to use it. I'm done fighting with this stuff, it's a waste of time because I have to keep taking off my polish, reapplying, and waiting for it to dry over and over. Don't spend your money, it's a waste.Cmarie87
It's a really good product however there are a few aspects that didn't really appeal to me. So, unlike the Kwik dry top coat it dries a little slow.. Personally, I'm also not a fan of a matte nail and love me some shiny. But, when you put it on and it starts to dry it is so fun to watch!!! As the title says, it's a nail polish. I haven't noticed anything particularly spectacular about this particular polish over others with similar claims. It hasn't made my manicures last longer or kept my nails from chipping any more than other all-in-one or base coat/top coat in one polishes. Pros wise, it's a nice viscosity, which makes it go on easily without much mess. If you load the brush properly prior to applying to to your nail, you should be able to get a nice even coat without much hassle (which I can't say for all products in the same category). And while this may not mean much to some, I appreciate Essie's bottle design because it makes storage much easier. While other brands more aesthetic designs may look nice, unless you have dedicated shelving unit or other display for your polishes, storing them can be difficult and take up far more space than necessary. All in all, in my opinion this product isn't something to write home about, but I wouldn't phone it in either. I would definitely choose this over several of it's competitors with similar claims and price points simply for the above mentioned pros of easy of application and storage.Siriuslestrange1
I am a huge fan of Essie's nail products and also recommend this new All-in-One Base and Top Coat as well now. I have brittle nails that easily get stained and require a basecoat and top coat as well as a nail strengthener whenever I use nail polish. Essie's All-in-One Base/Top Coat is basically the one-stop product that I use due to convenience since it works as both a base and top coat. I do have to mention that this product has a quick expiration date and the formula and texture changes over time. It becomes thicker, less spreadable, and a bit less efficient when it becomes old. It works best when it's fresh, so it works especially well for those who consistently use nail polish in quick succession and not for those who might use it over a long duration of time. Overall, I am quite satisfied with it, but as I'm one of those lazy people who only use nail polish sporadically, a bottle of these usually lasts me quite a long time and ends up with some wasted.RDCn
I bought this in hopes it would give a better shine to the pink essie polish and base coat I already had. I've used the pink alone with two coats and 30 min dry time between coats with zero problems. It typically stayed for 3/4 days before wearing off so I thought the top coat would help it stay longer. I applied the polish exactly as before and waited a full hour after the second coat of color to apply the top coat. I touch tested the color and made sure it was fully dry before applying top coat. I applied top coat on one hand. After an hour, it still wasn't dry and when I tested it, everything was wet and the all the polish came off as if the color layer was fully wet. I draped a paper towel on the nail and all the polish stuck to the paper and came off the nail. The other hand, without top coat, was still fine a day later. I've tried again on one nail waiting for the color coats to dry overnight before applying the top coat and same effect. It's as if the top coat re-wets the color polish and just never dries. Top coat works as a polish remover. Very disappointed with the top coat of SAME brand would interact this way with polish.GoingSallyHnsn

I received Essie Smooth-E basecoat as a #freeproduct to try for my honest review from #topboxcircle #trytopbox. I had never heard of this basecoat so I was intrigued as it stated it was a ridge filler and would give my nails a smooth finish to apply polish. I use a lot of dark colours especially blue that has a tendency to stain my nails. I did find that with the initial application it gave my nails a matte finish with an almost grippy feel and then I applied my Essie polish in a nice deep blue. It did dry quickly before I applied the polish. I have had the blue nail polish on for a few days and did find my nails chipped almost the next day so that was a little disappointing. The finish was nice and clean looking like a mani should be. I am not overly impressed though. I feel that there are better products on the market.CeeZee39
I absolutely love the entire Essie line, they always have high quality products. It’s my go to for my mani/pedis. The only issues I’ve come across is that my nail polish never lasted a week. It would constantly chip off, but since trying out this base coat that Essie brilliantly thought of, I no longer have that issue. Since using this, now my nail polish says on for a week before it starts to chip. I’m extremely pleased and happy with this product. It provides you with the best quality manicures and pedicures. Initially I was a bit skeptical about this product claiming to smooth the ridges in my nails. I recently had acrylic nails taken off and the removal process wrecked havoc on my nails. The surface of my nails were uneven and they were peeling. When I applied the base coat, I noticed that it filled in the weak spots in my nails. When I applied the nail polish on top, my nails felt so smooth. You would not be able to tell that my nails were damaged. My daughter loves the polish colors and the stickers. The polish quality isn’t like an adult polish and/or polish with more chemicals. The polish chips off by the next day just from normal everyday activities, hand washing, bath. My daughter doesn’t mind but then she just asks to paint her nails every other day. Lol. I have even used the blow dryer but I don’t notice it makes the polish last any longer. I do like that the polish doesn’t smell and is non toxic and because it chips off I never have to use nail polish remover, which I like. Also the stickers never stay on more than an hour. I'm not sure if I got a fluke pack or what. Based on the reviews I was excited for my daughter to try this, but within 2 hours a significant amount of the polish comes off. Even with my daughter being fairly inactive. I thought maybe I didn't do it well. So I shook them extra good, then tried 3 coats, drying with a hair dryer on a low setting in between, but still the same problem. I understand kid's polish shouldn't last as long as regular polish, but it's useless if it comes off the second the kid touches something.Amy28
You must use blow dryer after a few layers, you must use top coat (the whitish colour in the bottle -they have another product that is clear not that one, but you need the top coat). The top coat makes all the streaks go away. Of course blow dry after applying top coat. On kids it lasts a few days depending on how active they are and how much they let u blow dry . On adults without any chips 2 3 days, and then small chips. The only con is that its hard to take off after 3 days. I used reg nail polish remover and alcohol was more effective . Lotsa elbow grease and at the end I used the electic nail mani set to buff /file off the color. Obviously doesn’t last super long. This is day 2, I will try to updated when it chips and upload photo.Lana

Piggy Paint Ice Cream Dream Nail polish my granddaughters loved this ! I like that nothing in the polish is toxic ! It's also very easy clean up ! These polishes are 75% water my 10 yr old granddaughter does her nails every few days rubbing alcohol can easily remove the polish to get the polish to harden its best to use a hair dryer we used my nail dryer & it worked even better ! Wow! Finally a kid-friendly nail Polish that actually goes on nicely and LASTS!! The colors are beautifully vibrant and I love that they all have a nice shimmer/sparkle to them. I used the top/base coat on my two kids (4 and 6 year olds) then alternated with the purple, green, and pink colors to their liking for both nails and toes. I really appreciate that that it doesn’t smell like chemicals! I don’t have to worry about my kids inhaling the fumes or putting their hands in their mouths (one of them likes to bite her nails). I loved the saturated color and it lasted for 2 weeks on my toes without chipping. I did experience some chipping on my fingernails after 5 days. I used Sally Hansen base and top coat with both toes and fingers. I usually use a soy based polish remover for removal all my polishes ((usually Sally Hansen, Opi and Essie). However, the polish wouldn’t come off with the soy polish remover. Luckily I had some acetone remover and was able to use that. Even with the acetone remover, it took me an hour to get the polish off my fingers! I didn’t bother trying to remove the polish off my toes. I went to a nail salon and they had to soak off the polish with acetone remover and file off the remnants of polish. They asked me if I was wearing gel polish. I had to show them the bottle. I won’t use this polish again. I get the same staying power with my regular polishes with the headache of removal.LadyCG

The only reason this gel polish doesn't get a 5 star is because it is an absolute pain to get off. I can soak it and soak it for what seems like hours and I still have to file it off or scrape with an orange stick. The colours are beautiful, it is easy to apply for a beginner and it doesnt pool at the edges of your nail. Another great bonus is that the top coat does not require alcohol wiping, so for those with tight c curved nails, like me, you get much better coverage and top coat seal!kayla.m
I recently started doing my own gel nails at home and I love this top coat. It is no wipe so you do not have a sticky residue left over. I will always recommend to friends! At home gel nails are the way to go. I have weaker nails and this helps strengthen them without the salon price.mckenna.d
Who knows when their overhead mechanism was made. I had the manual and that was no help. So the hardest part was finding the correct setup code [which I then wrote down]. But it does just exactly what it is supposed to do. But do keep your manual. Sometimes a power outage will require a reset. I know someone who bought a new one rather than pay for a repairman which would have cost MUCH more., all because didn't keep the manual.lorilohman

I used this nail polish for the first time three days ago and I couldn't be happier with the result! For years I have had acrylic nails and have recently stopped because I don't have time to go and get them done with my new baby, so I decided to invest in some new nail polish and boy am I glad I did! I used the JINsoon Power Coat Strengthening Base Coat, followed by 2 coats of the Essie Light Lilac, then the JINsoon Top Gloss Quick Dry Top Coat, and finished off with the Essie Quick-e Drying Drops Nail Polish Treatment and my nail look AMAZING! They actually look like I've got shellac on. And what's even more amazing, they dried SUPER fast! It took me maybe 10-15 minutes to do the application, and then I let dry for maybe 20-30 minutes and they were completely set. I was able to get dinner ready and do the dishes straight away with no denting or smudging! This is a game changer! I'm now on day three and they still look as good as day 1! I was sick of the colours you would get from OPI or the drugstore that just felt a bit too childish – I love pink and purple but I don’t need my nails to look like a kids bedroom wall. This nail polish is what I’ve been looking for! Subtle and creamy this just looks expensive on and is definitely for that ballerina off duty aesthetic everyone’s into atm. I usually redo my nails weekly – this nail polish last for that time. It does chip after that but I don’t use a base or top coat. It’s better than an OPI in terms of chipping for me! 100% recommend.JL2022
