Used this product for the first time today and was very pleased with the results. I have had several rotary tool type nail trimmers over the years to compare. The tool was fairly quiet and the dogs did not fight like they usually do. I have always loved and trusted Dremel and this continues with the Pawcontrol trimmer. Trimmed nails on two large dogs with power to spare. "I am receiving a free accessory pack from Dremel in exchange for my honest review." However the review must be honest where good or bad as per instructions. Ive bought several different dremel type nail trimmers for my dogs none have worked this good ever. I have large dogs and trimming nails is not an easy task but this files those nails fast and easy. Love this product!!blondfish

Was cutting some very thin gauge metal, has no power and the circuit protection was a continuous hassle. I think best suited for polishing clouds since it has no power. Has high speeds, but once you touch anything, it pulls it down so quickly and circuit protection shuts it down, having to turn it back on again and again and again… total waste of money.anonymous

Excellent Crafting Tool! It does what it claims to do and more. It has really helped me get through these challenging times mainly at home alone! However; the Curbside Pickup at my HD Royally Blows Hard!!! What a Joke! And the In Store Customer Service is Seriously Lacking! We Are All Suffering Together during this time. And to get Attitude from the Staff there (Who ARE WORKING) Really puts a Damper on my One Time per Week that I leave my House per week!! It's a great dremel , the only issue I would have with it is that it isn't too strong and if you press on whatever you are cutting, drilling or engraving on , it automatically shuts off . It is a perfect size and easier to handle than the regular dremel, if it was just a little more powerful it would have been perfect!! I even use it to shave my dogs nails since it's much quieter than the over the counter ones they sell for pets .mister_v

I picked up a JobMate rotary tool but upgraded to a Dremel because the bits are much better made and it comes with some attachments that add to the versatility of the kit. Some of these attachments (a router, a spin saw) are gimmicky, but a couple like the chain saw sharpening kit and the flexible shaft are really helpful and take care of jobs that can’t be done with your regular tools. The JobMate for $10 on sale is not a ripoff, but it can’t be compared to an actual Dremel in terms of performance, durability and versatility. I picked up a kit of JobMate attachments to go with that tool, but they tend to break down quickly compared to the Dremel line. The sanding cylinders, grinding stones, and cut off disks all had much shorter lives compared to their Dremel counterparts. Attachments routinely fell out of the JobMate tool. The Dremel collet is a lot better than the JobMate one in terms of opening and tightening, and so far I've never had a Dremel-brand head fall out. (Some of the leftovers from my JobMate and MasterCraft kit will occasionally fall out.) I went with the 300 series because it was in my price range and it came with a clamping table for small jobs. The Dremel did a great job cleaning off some old paint scrapers and doing the rough sharp some of old anvil pruners, but I still needed to use a honing stone to finish the job. 3. I sanded some decorative pieces to glue onto a bird feeder and some Barbie furniture. It's great for this kind of detail cutting, shaping and sanding. 4. I engraved my initials into a cell phone, wood, and some leftover sheet metal. It was very easy to hold for this type of detail working. 5. The round cut off heads are great for removing nails or screws that poke out above the wood. It made quick work of cutting through them and the heads lasted a lot longer than ones I got with my JobMate. Dremel has every kind of attachment you can think of. I bought the router one, but it was soon sent back because it just didn't offer the kind of depth control I wanted. Also, 1.15 amps just isn't enough juice to cut wood at a speed that you can get with even the most basic router. I think that as a basic rotary tool, the Dremel can't be beat. When you start sinking funds into fancy attachments, you are spending money better spend on a power tool that will outperform the Dremel. The selection of bits that come with the kit sold by Canadian Tire is limited. You will find yourself quickly buying up replacements and specialized bits like an engraver. It does however grid the nails down just fine and as far as I can tell dogs like it more than clippers. It uses regular sand paper bits so its nothing special. If you own a dremel just use that one, it will work better and faster with no need to spend 30 on another one, on a low setting. I would have given it a 4 star but it says its quiet which is not true. Any dremel on a 1-2 setting will sound the exact same. I recommend using a nicer one with a 3-4 setting and a grit sand paper and a fine sand paper. You will be much happier with thatllehctim787

I don’t have the 2 pack, but I this exact one in a single. This is the best dremel I have used for dogs. Not only is this the one we use at work at the veterinary clinic, I bought one for home. I do dog nail trims as a side job. My clients love the results. On high it’s quick and easy on the dogs nails. On low it’s quiet with low vibration and easy on scared dogs. I love this thing! I build radio controlled airplanes and this Dremel is a dream come true. I use it to sand, grind, and cut things like over sized bolts and wood. It is made of high quality materials and runs very smoothly with little vibration. The case is very well built and every thing has a place. The drawer locks when the lid is shut. The flex shaft is very handy and fun to use. The manual is very informative, which tells you what everything is used for and what RPM to run each accessory at. I love it and will buy again!LWPilot

Its a great rotary tool. Very quiet, has great power. It was a little bigger than I was use too, but that didn't take long to overcome. It does everything that I need it to do and more. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a rotary tool. The light on it is nice, but did get in my way. It popped right off easily, and goes back on just as easy. Bought the one with a nice case and the extra accessories, I was impressed with the case BUT as soon as I tried to use the Dremel tool it's just completely dead I've tried different outlets and it just doesn't work or even tried other outlets so I'm guessing it's a bad switch? Bought this cordless Dremel to cut out rotten timber from window & door frames prior to repairing them. I use a specialist repair system and the mini handheld tool they supply is very expensive. I decided to get the Dremel because its a proper multi function tool. I've used it on wooden frames and even to cut grout out from tiles. Its brilliant. The charge lasts a good time, the work light is excellent and the tools supplied with the Dremel are comprehensive – I've added more already. Its easy to handle and not heavy. Purchased the Dremel 8220-2 45 Piece 12V Li-Ion Multi-Tool Kit 1 x 2.0Ah a few weeks back and although I don't agree with organizations requesting reviews almost immediately after purchase – if manufacturers had faith in their product they would wait 6 months to a year to request feedback. Anyway to break my rule, I purchased the kit to replace an aging JML multi-tool kit which survived well over 10 years doing tiny/small jobs. Having paid quite a bit more money for the Dremel, you can instantly notice the difference in build quality. The Dremel seems fairly robust (ask me again in 10 years and I'll confirm) and seems capable of handling the tasks thrown at it – so far I have only used it for detail sanding. My only gripes with the tool are as follows; 1. The weight of the tool would make me question whether it would be suitable for use in delicate craft like situations; 2. I would question whether the lowest speed setting of 5000 rpm is suitable for craft users or maybe it's myself not being familiar with the difference in performance between my old kit and the new. I haven't rated the Reliability as I do not think I can give a relevant opinion based on a few weeks of ownership.Logan_03

I have a deluxe Dremel system; however, mine is corded which really limits what and where I can do my work without an extension cord. I have 100 yards of extension cord for outdoor use but it is cumbersome if you talk about cleanup, setup and practice use. There is more practicality since you do not have to deal with a long cord that may inhibit certain angles or positions that you may need to get the job done. After acquiring this particular cordless version, I feel truly liberated. Now, I can freely go into the backyard and work on sanding areas on my wrought iron fence, our 20 year old basketball goal post, and working around the garage. The biggest advantage of this Dremel system is the EZ Twist system which allows you to place, rotate and lock the various attachments without having to resort to additional tools/screws. It is a more expensive option but when you need speed and convenience or you have limited time, then there is no better alternative. These switches in the past have over a period of time developed "drop outs" in them. Places where when you try to set the speed in that area on the variable the tool just stops, and you have to move it up and down to find a sweet spot where it works again. I used to think this was caused buy sawdust in the tool but I don't think that's the whole story. I have cleaned mine and to no avail. I bought the Dremel 3000 with Flexi Shaft for Hobby purposes. I am giving my old Dremel to a friend. I like the new one better because it has a slower revolution speed than my old one. I also like it because of the Flexi Shaft attachment . OK, with that said and done I have been laughing my head off over some of the negative reviews and questions. Guys, the Dremel is a light tool for small jobs. I would never keep the motor running for an extended periods of time or use it for "heavy" chores. Pick the right tool for the right job. Would you buy a light truck to tow a 30 ft. trailer? Also for anybody that is curious, you should not hammer in nails with your Dremel. 😉Larry

Fantastic tool, it has a lot of power and doesn't take long to charge. The only thing I wish it came with was a chuck for small drill bits, those can be bought separately but really should have come with it. It's very light and easy to work with, does a great job with cut off discs and drilling at low or crazy high speed.metaled

Cordless and holds a charge well. I really like the feel of it when I use it, not heavy or bulky. Used mostly to smooth trimmed dog nail that have sharp edges, the dogs don't mind because it is quiet. I've aslo used other attachment (which it came with, Lots of them!) and they work great too! Im a dog groomer so I use a dremel every day for work. The port that you plug in the charger to charge this particular dremel is so fragile that it took less than a month before it broke. This is the 2nd Dremel 4000I own as my hobby is working with crystals and beach pebbles. The beauty of the Dremel is the huge range of speeds at your fingertips. This is really important as all the crystals I use have a varying range of hardness. The ease of changing drill sizes is amazing and fast, I am also amazed at how light and versatile the Dremel is meaning I can use it for hours on end with no aching hand or numb fingers. I rarely use any attachments apart from diamond drills and cutters but the range of attachments available is astonishing and all are very affordable.Bill

My Rotocraft multi tool stopped working so I decided to upgrade to a Dremel. It is solidly built and comes with many accessories. It is certainly a big step up from the Rotorcraft. Excellent value for money.Rich123

I purchased the 4000 because I had bought other makes of this kind of tool before and thought it would be of superior quality, longevity and number of accessories which can be purchased. I suppose two out of three aint bad. Quality is first class, number of accessories on the market second to none. Longevity ( now here comes the crunch) absolutely appalling. Its a good job the 4000 is guaranteed for two years. I`m on my third one in eighteen months. The first one just stopped working all together. The second had an issue with the variable speed drive. I`m keeping my fingers crossed for the third one which I should not have to for a supposed quality product. The support was second to none. Bosch ( who you send the " in guarantee" defective Dremels) were totally efficient and in all cases said the units were not repairable and as a consequence a complete new Dremel 4000 with all associated accessories was sent to me. Now I have three complete Dremel 4000 accessory packs. Just hope the Dremel sees them through. Fingers crossed eh .Shredder1

I absolutely love this drill. The weight, color, and portability are amazing! It’s so pretty! I’m a beginner and it’s so easy to use. I can’t wait to get the matching LED lamp!! My photos don’t do it justice. Such a beautiful color. Came with everything in my photos. Only down side which isn’t that big of a deal or worth a return or exchange. The drill handle has a small scratch over the KS and the LCD screen has a dark spot on the top right but both aren’t that noticeable and don’t effect the use of the drill.Megan W.

I'm a licensed nail tech and I've always wanted this specific e-file from Kiara Sky but couldn't justify the price at the time. I believe I got this during their 20% entire site sale. Don't get me wrong, despite 20% off, it was still expensive but BOY DOES THIS WORK LIKE A DREAM. It's super quiet, powerful, and low maintenance. My drill arrived on Monday June 6th, 2022. I am blown away. This drill is awesome! There is absolutely no vibration and even at 35,000 there is almost no noise. I've tried many nail drill in the 22 years I've been doing my own nails. From the lower priced ones on Amazon ro more expensive brands like Medicool, iGel and Nail Genie. I go through about 4-5 of these each year. As a shell-carver, I use them for work. This model is the most useful to me. However, I’m so sick to death of the inconsistent quality of Drexel. Maybe 1 in 3 will work exactly as it should when it comes out of the box. The one I just bought is among the other 2/3 — I think, finally, today, I have everything tightened/loosened enough to work at full speed — but I’m pretty sure one of the wires is loose inside. I don’t want to open it up yet. I’ve gotten some that won’t turn on; others that last 3 weeks and then meltdown — literally melt — like, smoking plastic. The round cut off heads are great for removing nails or screws that poke out above the wood. It made quick work of cutting through them and the heads lasted a lot longer than ones I got with my JobMate. Dremel has every kind of attachment you can think of. I bought the router one, but it was soon sent back because it just didn't offer the kind of depth control I wanted. Also, 1.15 amps just isn't enough juice to cut wood at a speed that you can get with even the most basic router. I think that as a basic rotary tool, the Dremel can't be beat. When you start sinking funds into fancy attachments, you are spending money better spend on a power tool that will outperform the Dremel. The selection of bits that come with the kit sold by Canadian Tire is limited. You will find yourself quickly buying up replacements and specialized bits like an engraver. For woodworking (shaping, sanding) and basic handyman jobs (sharpening tools) , the Dremel is great. I bought the Dremel 3000 with Flexi Shaft for Hobby purposes. I am giving my old Dremel to a friend. I like the new one better because it has a slower revolution speed than my old one. I also like it because of the Flexi Shaft attachment . OK, with that said and done I have been laughing my head off over some of the negative reviews and questions. Guys, the Dremel is a light tool for small jobs. I would never keep the motor running for an extended periods of time or use it for "heavy" chores. Pick the right tool for the right job. Would you buy a light truck to tow a 30 ft. trailer? Also for anybody that is curious, you should not hammer in nails with your Dremel. 😉Larry

Bought this cordless Dremel to cut out rotten timber from window & door frames prior to repairing them. I use a specialist repair system and the mini handheld tool they supply is very expensive. I decided to get the Dremel because its a proper multi function tool. I've used it on wooden frames and even to cut grout out from tiles. Its brilliant. The charge lasts a good time, the work light is excellent and the tools supplied with the Dremel are comprehensive – I've added more already. Its easy to handle and not heavy. Purchased the Dremel 8220-2 45 Piece 12V Li-Ion Multi-Tool Kit 1 x 2.0Ah a few weeks back and although I don't agree with organizations requesting reviews almost immediately after purchase – if manufacturers had faith in their product they would wait 6 months to a year to request feedback. Anyway to break my rule, I purchased the kit to replace an aging JML multi-tool kit which survived well over 10 years doing tiny/small jobs. Having paid quite a bit more money for the Dremel, you can instantly notice the difference in build quality. The Dremel seems fairly robust (ask me again in 10 years and I'll confirm) and seems capable of handling the tasks thrown at it – so far I have only used it for detail sanding. My only gripes with the tool are as follows; 1. The weight of the tool would make me question whether it would be suitable for use in delicate craft like situations; 2. I would question whether the lowest speed setting of 5000 rpm is suitable for craft users or maybe it's myself not being familiar with the difference in performance between my old kit and the new. I haven't rated the Reliability as I do not think I can give a relevant opinion based on a few weeks of ownership.Logan_03

I have a deluxe Dremel system; however, mine is corded which really limits what and where I can do my work without an extension cord. I have 100 yards of extension cord for outdoor use but it is cumbersome if you talk about cleanup, setup and practice use. There is more practicality since you do not have to deal with a long cord that may inhibit certain angles or positions that you may need to get the job done. After acquiring this particular cordless version, I feel truly liberated. Now, I can freely go into the backyard and work on sanding areas on my wrought iron fence, our 20 year old basketball goal post, and working around the garage. The biggest advantage of this Dremel system is the EZ Twist system which allows you to place, rotate and lock the various attachments without having to resort to additional tools/screws. It is a more expensive option but when you need speed and convenience or you have limited time, then there is no better alternative. There are various accessories that allow for polishing, sanding, cutting, drilling, engraving, wood etching, and even sharpening. The handy case keeps it all organized. The unit is ergonomic, lightweight and easy to operate. Adjusting revolutions is facilitated with a tactile dial that works even with thin or medium weight working gloves. Battery life has been excellent and I have never been on a job where I ran out of power, though most of my jobs take only an hour or hour and a half, at most. Dremel brand products have always been a reliable, economical and versatile lineup for me and my workshop.EagleVision
