20 Best Nail Repair (2024 Update)

I loved this product. Tbh I have completely ran out cause I used it almost every other day. A little story here so be warned: For 20 years I have struggled with anxiety, well with that I had a nervous habit of picking at my nails till they were in the quick. I’ll attach a picture along with results. I found this product through my mom (a nail technician) plus vegan pure multivitamin nail hardener (also at Walmart) I started using these products every other day. And give or take 2 months in my nails are have grown so long. I have used other products from this brand and have been very disappointed. This one has left me very surprised. I've only used it twice so far, and it seems to work great. Can I say that I've seen growth within 3 days? Honestly, I can't really tell. However, I have noticed a definite change in my nail strength. I work a lot with my hands when I make costumes and clothing, and my nails tend to break, chip and crack. Since I started using this, my nails seem stronger. I only gave this product 4 stars because I haven't been using it for very long, so I can't say if it really lives up to the hype. But I can say that I have been very surprised within the small amount of time I have been using it, and plan to keep using it. I have a feeling I will continue to be surprised.Amy

Not for nail growth, but stops nail peeling/brittle nails. Also great as a top and base coat! Ok so I’ve been trying this for 3 months and I haven’t seen any noticeable difference in nail growth rate. However! I have very brittle nails that break and peel if they get long so I’ve always been on the lookout for something that helps and this works wonders! I keep getting compliments on my nails and how I can actually grow them now. I followed the directions for use as applying 2 coats every 3 days and I haven’t had any problems with peeling or my nails breaking when they get longer. I would suggest also painting underneath the nail tip to strengthen both sides. I would recommend for people with brittle nails, but don’t expect faster nail growth. I have used Nailtiques Formula 2 for many years. It absolutely improves the strength and look of my nails. The trick is to use it consistently and follow the directions to apply one coat daily. I make one to three applications a week to maintain the results and make sure I always have this on my nails. I don't wear color polish often but Nailtiques works great as a first coat with color polish as the second. If you are just starting out with Nailtiques I would suggest not using colored polish for the first few weeks and just use Nailtiques to give your nails a good start. The first coat gives your nails a nice shine, the second coat the next day hides any nail ridges and gives a thick glossy salon look.les7424

This product is really good at rebuilding nail strength when used as directed. Although it may be temping to peel off the product after applying several coats, I encourage you not to do this as it will also remove part of the strengthened nail bed that you are trying to repair. Soak your nails in non-acetone polish remover initially, then rub off remaining product with a saturated cotton ball. Once clean, reapply.KathyC

This product is amazing. I have had gel nails and had them removed which makes your nails thin causing them to crack, chip and break. I have tried so many different products and this is the only one that works. I’ve mentioned it to other friends and they all say the same thing. I now have beautiful long natural nails. Having been a nail biter/picker most of my years I resorted to acrylics to help deter me. Getting this done regularly made my already thin and brittle nails worse. I resorted to false nails for a while and then wraps to try and achieve some length to discourage my old habits. Had been looking for an alternative product in local shops but couldn't find it. A work colleague was using product I was originally trying to source and recommended it all apart from the pinkish tinge it gave. A local beauty store recommended this range that they had in stock as an alternative. Was so glad I purchased. Have now got beautiful natural nails and have actually had to cut and manicure them for the first time in my life. I am so proud of them and hopefully the habit is now behind me. This is certainly a handy all-in-one product that can be used as a base coat, top coat, fill-in, and nail protectant. I typically do gel or dip on my nails because they are very brittle and prone to flaking. I apply this product over my 1+ week old dip nails to give them extra shine. This product has a lovely, moisturizing gel-like texture that gives a wonderful shine. However, because it has a thicker, more moisturizing consistency, it takes a very long time to dry so would probably not be ideal as a top coat for regular nail polish. If you don’t touch it at all, the finish is beautiful, but even if you accidentally touch it hours later before it has fully dried, the finish can become texturized and dull. I think this is best used as a nail protectant over natural nails or over acrylic/dip/gel. It is super easy to apply with a generous large brush and (relatively) minimal nail polish odor. I would recommend this product on polish-breaks between manicures. It is also a great all-purpose travel polish. This treatment was super beneficial for my natural nails. I had just removed my acrylic nails at home with a regular nail file and some acetone, so my nails were weak, dry, and a little brittle. After washing my hands after all the abrasive removal, I put on two layers of this treatment and then some cuticle oil after it dried. Not only are my nails shiny and healthy-looking, they also feel a lot stronger than before. My nails have always been a little weaker and textured, but I genuinely would not be able to see that with this treatment on. My nails are also significantly smoother than they were with all the filing I did. I also found the smell to be quite pleasant compared to normal nail polish and acetone, but maybe that was because I applied it after smelling acetone fumes for a couple hours. While I love it as a treatment, I cannot vouch for it as a base coat nor a top coat, This could be a good “primer” for a base coat, but it doesn’t seem sticky enough to be a good base coat that helps polish adhere to it. I also don’t think the texture is quite smooth or even enough to be a top coat which is meant to seal and even everything.grace.c

I have been learning how to do my own ombre nails and nail stamping. It can be a long process to apply the many different layers to achieve the look I want, and it is very frustrating to go through all that work only to smear the polish on a nail and have to start over. Enter Sally Insta Dri Top Coat. This awesome little gem is a nice consistency and goes on nicely – it's not too thin, yet doesn't gloop everywhere either. It leaves a nice shiny, clear color, and speeds the drying process. It also does not soak through the nail stamping sealer coat, so it doesn't smear the stamped designs. I have tried some expensive top coats that permeate through the layers of polish and ruin the nail stamping designs. The best part, this top coat protects my manicure! I wash dishes, cook, do laundry, type on a computer, shuffle papers around, and this top coat protects through it all! As any nail professional will tell you, you must touch up your manicure with a good top coat every few days if you want to prolong the life of your manicure. This Sally Insta Dri Top Coat is perfect for that, too. I just apply a quick top coat every other day before I leave for work in the morning and it is completely set by the time I arrive at the office. Perfect! This is my manicure after four days – and no, it is not gel (cure with a light) polish. I use regular (mostly Sally Hansen and Essie) nail polish.Iris

Ok, I’m obsessed with this stuff. I wanted something to put on my nails to protect them and make them look a little neater when I’m taking a break in between manicures. This stuff does exactly that….it’s amazing. It has the prettiest tiiiny amount of pinkish sheen that makes your nails look a step above bare. This picture is two coats. I usually have my nails manicured, but once in a while I need a break. If I leave my nails completely bare, they chip and break. This not only protects them but also gives them a nice “clean” look. I haven't been using this product long, but I love it. I keep seeing all of these reviews that were part of a promotion, but my review is just because I needed something new, saw this, and bought it. I have also seen some complain about the smell. I feel like I need to go home and check mine, because I have not noticed any weird smell. You got a bad bottle or something. This goes on nice, it doesn't take forever to dry. Although I have tried a product that dries much faster, but the drying time on this isn't as long as regular nail polish. I like the finish look on my nails. No streakes or clumpy weird stuff, and goes on so smooth. The best part, my nails are strong and holding up well. Did some break, yes. But you can't expect the first coat, or even the first week to fully improve your weak nails. You can't put this on paper and expect the paper not to rip. If you follow the instructions and let ilthe polish drynas any other polish, it is an excellent choice for nail repair, ESPECIALLY if you have a significant amount of damage including thinning and tearing from having gel polish or acrylic . I've had Nails over the years off and on I would say over 25 years and there's only one other product I have found in that amount of time that actually does what it says and helps to repair your nails from the amount of damage that any gel polish and acrylic will do. I find it interesting that majority of the promotional reviews not all but majority are rated very high and the less than Stellar ratings are those or majority are those who were not part of the promotion and it only helps other consumers if it's an honest review based on actually following the instructions of what you're supposed to do if you just try it for a week then no it's not going to work if you have damage that would likely push you to buy this in the first place. It usually takes months and sometimes it can actually take people years to actually get their nails back to normal if they've had gel or acrylic on your nails for even a few months my mom hasn't had nails for a few years now and her nails have never been the same they're extremely brittle no matter what she tries and it's because of the gel polish mostly and acrylic. I followed the instructions and used this for several weeks and as I mentioned previously this is the only product I've found that does what it says it will do and it helps with the discoloration as well that acrylic and gel polish leaves because your nails haven't had actual air for weeks or months or years while you've had something on top of them so it usually leaves a yellowing or dingy color which has always bothered me so any type of nail repair should be attentive pink or some type of color to make the yellowing of your nails not so noticeable to the human eye. I too do not understand the comment about the overwhelming smell as it smells no different than any other polish so I'm thinking maybe that reviewer had a bottle with something wrong with it or expired or too much of one or more ingredients. Overall I'm super pleased with this product and will continue to use it to strengthen my nails and have them look or appear as healthy as possible. The only reason that I put four out of five stars for last a long time is because my nails are so damaged it's normal that any single thing that is put on them is going to be absorbed and it's not going to last as long as things normally would so as I expected it doesn't last that long because my nails are so unhealthy if they were in their original condition I'm sure it would last longer.Kate

I got this free about a year ago and will absolutely be buying when I run out. The nails on my ring fingers are thinner than my other nails and used to break frequently, with this they feel just as strong as my regular nails and I can actually grow them out. All of my nails break much less than they used to and only when I really jam them. It works well as a base coat (longevity of my Mani is similar to seche vite or opi base coats) and is also great by itself. It makes my nails shiny and healthy looking. Wow! I’ve been getting acrylics on and off since my early teens (now early 30’s) and the only time I’ve ever been able to grow my nails without them peeling or breaking, is when I had on acrylics…. I received this recovery formula in a fab fit fun box and decided to try it (fresh off a set of acrylics, incredibly thin and damaged with ridges and no length left) and within a week I noticed my nails getting longer. I just used this for the first time a few days ago. Wow! I had a nail that was broken so far down and almost all the way across. I wouldn’t have been able to cut it back without lots of pain and blood. I followed the instructions for using this product, and it couldn’t have been easier. Two coats, light buffing, and now you could not tell after polish that there was ever a break. My nail looks great, feels strong, and best of all, I think it will hang in there until the break grows out far enough to make it bearable. Amazing!mariam.b

This stuff works great, I was using it for a year before covid and quarantine hit, when like a lot of ladies, I started attempting "dip nails" at home. Then I realized that it's kind of like dipped nails. So, now I pretty much "dip nail" to repair my permanantly broken nail. Now, back to the Orly nail rescue kit. It does work great, however, you will run out of glue (or it will just get hard and not be able to be opened) before you run out nail repair powder. I want this as an ongoing use for my permanently broken nail. The little nail file that's included is not really needed since we all have nail files at home, and once you use this teeny-tiny nail file, then meh. I've tried using Kiss nail glue with the Orly nail repair powder, but unfortunately, that does't work. So, we flat out need more Orly brush-on nail glue in this kit. It would be more worth the money if it came with 3 bottles of the glue and one little tub of powder for the $10/$15. I wish I could buy the glue separately to use with my extra powder that i still have left over. I've bought a 2nd kit, for more glue, but am still using the powder from kit 1. Let me first say how much I hate my nails! They grow at different rates, they are super weak and the white tips are all different- some go straight across, some are curved, and some are not symmetrical. I'm not a fan of acrylic nails because of how thick they are and I don't like being held to an appt every 2 weeks. This product is so easy to use and works! I like to keep my nails polished because it hides the inconsistencies. I can't believe how strong this made my nails! I was almost going to clip a nail that was about to rip because it was so weak, and that's the day it was delivered! So far, that nail has survived a whole week! I highly recommend this! I also recommend 2 coats. The only thing that might be a con is the amount of glue vs the powder. I'm thinking I will run out of glue way before the powder. I love this product. Initially I went back and forth on purchasing this or a few competitor products, but went in to Ulta and this was available, so I grabbed it based on the reviews and I'm so glad that I did. I have used Nail Tek products for about 20 years, as their nail treatment/therapy products have worked wonders for me. My nail used to never grow. I began using Nail Tek, #2 with the cuticle/nail oil when preparing for my wedding in hopes to grow my own nails. They grew, and became stronger than ever before, less brittle and less prone to breakage. I’ve used nearly all of the Nail Tek treatment line and recommended to many! I thought I would give this ridge filler a try…I was pleasantly surprised how well it works! I filed and tried to smooth them out, but you could still see and feel ridges. Run, don't walk. This product is a whole grail. I have a terrible habit of biting nails as a stress coping mechanism and this grew back my damaged nails. In my quest for healthier nails and cuticles, I purchased this to use under my base coat and nail polish as a strengthening treatment. This definitely worked. My nails have been so strong since I started using this regularly. The whites of my nail tips started growing back within 48 hours! I’ve slaughtered my nails after using press-on nails with nail glue and salon gel manicures, but it was a stupid habit to get into because I have lovely, long, strong, and white-tipped nails naturally. After the damage, they definitely needed a little help being pushed in the right direction, and Nail Tek’s #2 has been a lifesaver! It took me weeks to finally get it in the mail, but I really like this product. My nails are badly damaged from gels and acrylics. The pink color is ok but would not be my choice. It does let me see where it has worn off on the edges more easily though. My nails are easily broken and thin to begin with, so damaged they are very fragile. This is good for growing them out, and having some color helps hide the damage. I would like a shimmery nude color better, but that is personal preference.Merry B.

This is the Orly Nailtrition treatment polish and it retails for $15 at Ulta. This is suppose to be a nail strengthener for peeling and splitting nails. The formula is thick, shiny, and pink. I was hoping for something more clear. Not a deal breaker. It makes the nails appear bright and shiny. I recently wanted to take a break from getting my nails done and had the acrylic removed. My nails were peeling and thin underneath. I thought I would give this product a try and after a month, I’m really not impressed. It did not make my nails any stronger, nor did it help them grow. I really did not have any expectations of this product when I first started using it but figured it was worth a shot. I had acrylics for over a decade and then had to stop during the pandemic. My natural nails were so damaged, brittle and peeling, I had given up the idea of having nice nails again. I thought the Nailtrition at best would bind the peeling nails and prevent them from splitting but my nails are growing so well and (knock on wood) haven’t broken or split since I’ve started using this. Love this stuff! By far the best nail treatment I have used! It doesn’t feel greasy and has a subtle scent that doesn’t permeate everything you touch. I also don’t feel like I can’t do anything with my hands after applying it. A little goes a long way so I feel like it is a good value. After one use I felt like my nails were more hydrated. When I called, VCS checked with the company and told me they said sheer pink is pink … but I have 2 jars both labeled sheer pink but they are definitely beige. I like this product. I'm too busy with my hands and don't have time for constant manicures and nail repair. This product gives my fingernails a little shine and hardens them. It lasted over a week before I took it off easily with remover and polished again. I ordered the light pink bottle but it is definitely NOT pink at all. With one application it is clear. I am happy with the results I’m getting! Better results than anything else I’ve tried. It’s easy to apply right out of the shower. I’m finding that it’s taking longer on the nail with the more severe infection. But it is working! Applying the nail treatment regularly and keeping my nails short is helping.Sunbug

I had seen many great reviews and was excited when I got pick for this voxbox. I love the bristle of this mascara. It gives a big glamorous vibes. It can get a little clumpy if you overdo it. If you love big chunky lashes, this is the one; especially if you have small Asian lashes like meana delia.s

I love this NAIL TEK #1. Previously I had used #4 to improve my weak nails. It did a tremendous job improving the ridges, splits, lumps & bumps in my nails, that I moved on to #1. It works perfectly as a base coat for polish and as a top coat and the polish stays on without chipping or peeling for longer than any others I’ve tried.Linda O.

The revitalize oil is a disappointment. My nails re stil Peeling and cracking. I thought by now I would see A little improvement. I recently had my nails done. Unfortunately the technician used an e-file incorrectly on my natural nails. 😕 they were severely damaged in the process. I've used Dermelect before when it used to be sold at Ulta beauty. I needed emergency help an knew this would do the trick. This kit was a life saver! These treatment polishes are beautiful. I got the orange marmalade and strawberry rhubarb jelly. Since these are treatments and not pigmented jelly polishes, they only provide a sheer wash of color to the nail. With the orange one I would recommend 3 coats, since a single coat gives a yellow-stained nail appearance. I wear these as a jelly sandwich with glitter in between. Because the polish is very sheer, the glitter shines perfectly in between the layer. As a treatment, I still haven’t used them long enough to see any drastic changes to the dents and ridges in my nails. However, I do see that these are not at all damaging to my nails like some pigmented polishes. Overall, I think I really like them and will continue to use them.Pooja N.

First, I don't often write reviews, but this product is so phenomenal I just had to write this one. I love the look of nicely polished nails, but every time I try to use "regular" nail polish, despite "the best" base coats and top coats, my nails can't take it; my nails peel and chip and it is weeks of growing out the damage done by nail polishes (I've tried high end and low end and it is always the same problem). I am happy to say that I have been using this product for almost three months, every week, and my nails have never been healthier! I only use this product (no base or top coat) and apply one coat. The colour is faint but lovely. I get the shine I like on my nails and the feeling of polish without all the downsides for me. The one coat lasts the week without chipping or peeling of the "polish" or my nails! I haven't dared to try regular polish for fear of messing up the healthy nails that I now have. Please don't ever discontinue this product. I would truly be lost without it.Meeka

Based on the raving reviews I ordered the strawberry rhubarb jelly and the color is horrific. About the only thing tolerable is one minuscule coat. I tried variations of 1-5 coats and anything more than one looks like I received a “French” manicure without the white tips. It doesn’t matter how many coats you put on. The tips will show thru in this weird sickly way and your nails will look like you dipped your fingers in red kool-aid. The pictures shown in the advertisement look nothing like what actually occurs. I will be going back to my OPI strengthening products and avoiding any Butter products in the future.Jennifer R.

This is certainly a handy all-in-one product that can be used as a base coat, top coat, fill-in, and nail protectant. I typically do gel or dip on my nails because they are very brittle and prone to flaking. I apply this product over my 1+ week old dip nails to give them extra shine. This product has a lovely, moisturizing gel-like texture that gives a wonderful shine. However, because it has a thicker, more moisturizing consistency, it takes a very long time to dry so would probably not be ideal as a top coat for regular nail polish. If you don’t touch it at all, the finish is beautiful, but even if you accidentally touch it hours later before it has fully dried, the finish can become texturized and dull. I think this is best used as a nail protectant over natural nails or over acrylic/dip/gel. It is super easy to apply with a generous large brush and (relatively) minimal nail polish odor. I would recommend this product on polish-breaks between manicures. It is also a great all-purpose travel polish. This treatment was super beneficial for my natural nails. I had just removed my acrylic nails at home with a regular nail file and some acetone, so my nails were weak, dry, and a little brittle. After washing my hands after all the abrasive removal, I put on two layers of this treatment and then some cuticle oil after it dried. Not only are my nails shiny and healthy-looking, they also feel a lot stronger than before. My nails have always been a little weaker and textured, but I genuinely would not be able to see that with this treatment on. My nails are also significantly smoother than they were with all the filing I did. I also found the smell to be quite pleasant compared to normal nail polish and acetone, but maybe that was because I applied it after smelling acetone fumes for a couple hours. While I love it as a treatment, I cannot vouch for it as a base coat nor a top coat, This could be a good “primer” for a base coat, but it doesn’t seem sticky enough to be a good base coat that helps polish adhere to it. I also don’t think the texture is quite smooth or even enough to be a top coat which is meant to seal and even everything.grace.c

I have been learning how to do my own ombre nails and nail stamping. It can be a long process to apply the many different layers to achieve the look I want, and it is very frustrating to go through all that work only to smear the polish on a nail and have to start over. Enter Sally Insta Dri Top Coat. This awesome little gem is a nice consistency and goes on nicely – it's not too thin, yet doesn't gloop everywhere either. It leaves a nice shiny, clear color, and speeds the drying process. It also does not soak through the nail stamping sealer coat, so it doesn't smear the stamped designs. I have tried some expensive top coats that permeate through the layers of polish and ruin the nail stamping designs. The best part, this top coat protects my manicure! I wash dishes, cook, do laundry, type on a computer, shuffle papers around, and this top coat protects through it all! As any nail professional will tell you, you must touch up your manicure with a good top coat every few days if you want to prolong the life of your manicure. This Sally Insta Dri Top Coat is perfect for that, too. I just apply a quick top coat every other day before I leave for work in the morning and it is completely set by the time I arrive at the office. Perfect! This is my manicure after four days – and no, it is not gel (cure with a light) polish. I use regular (mostly Sally Hansen and Essie) nail polish.Iris
