It does let me see where it has worn off on the edges more easily though. My nails are easily broken and thin to begin with, so damaged they are very fragile. This is the Orly Nailtrition treatment polish and it retails for $15 at Ulta. This is suppose to be a nail strengthener for peeling and splitting nails. The formula is thick, shiny, and pink. I have used Nailtiques Formula 2 for many years. It absolutely improves the strength and look of my nails. The trick is to use it consistently and follow the directions to apply one coat daily. I make one to three applications a week to maintain the results and make sure I always have this on my nails. I don't wear color polish often but Nailtiques works great as a first coat with color polish as the second. If you are just starting out with Nailtiques I would suggest not using colored polish for the first few weeks and just use Nailtiques to give your nails a good start. However, because it has a thicker, more moisturizing consistency, it takes a very long time to dry so would probably not be ideal as a top coat for regular nail polish. If you don’t touch it at all, the finish is beautiful, but even if you accidentally touch it hours later before it has fully dried, the finish can become texturized and dull. I think this is best used as a nail protectant over natural nails or over acrylic/dip/gel. It is super easy to apply with a generous large brush and (relatively) minimal nail polish odor. I would recommend this product on polish-breaks between manicures. It is also a great all-purpose travel polish. This treatment was super beneficial for my natural nails. I had just removed my acrylic nails at home with a regular nail file and some acetone, so my nails were weak, dry, and a little brittle. After washing my hands after all the abrasive removal, I put on two layers of this treatment and then some cuticle oil after it dried. Not only are my nails shiny and healthy-looking, they also feel a lot stronger than before. My nails have always been a little weaker and textured, but I genuinely would not be able to see that with this treatment on. My nails are also significantly smoother than they were with all the filing I did. I also found the smell to be quite pleasant compared to normal nail polish and acetone, but maybe that was because I applied it after smelling acetone fumes for a couple hours. While I love it as a treatment, I cannot vouch for it as a base coat nor a top coat, This could be a good “primer” for a base coat, but it doesn’t seem sticky enough to be a good base coat that helps polish adhere to it. I have been learning how to do my own ombre nails and nail stamping. It can be a long process to apply the many different layers to achieve the look I want, and it is very frustrating to go through all that work only to smear the polish on a nail and have to start over. I was given this polish to restore my nails after having a gel manicure for years. I stopped for covid19, as I couldn’t justify the salon trips with a high health risk person in my household. I got the pink tinted nail strengthener and at first really liked it. I decided to wear it on its own, and that was a mistake. In less than a day the polish would chip and flake off. It has absolutely not durability. I’ve removed it, tried prepping my nails, and reapplied it but still had the same problem. I wonder if this would be better under another nail polish, which is why I’m giving it three stars instead of two. I assume those who give this product 5 stars are wearing this underneath another polish and maybe that’s why it works for them. I was pleasantly surprised with how well this product works. I couldn’t believe the amount of growth my nails had made within just 3 days…not to mention they strengthened up a lot. My nails have been a little more brittle lately and this has helped tremendously! Plus, you get the added benefits of a smooth, shiny, pink-tinted nail while they are becoming stronger. It says to take the stuff off after 3 days but you can leave it with no consequences. You can instantly feel the protection added and see a pretty shine. I don’t know that I’d say you can instantly feel them becoming stronger, but you can definitely tell it’s doing it’s job and will be more resistant to stuff within the 3-day period. In the bottle this has a purple tint which is not noticeable once applied, it goes on completely clear. Instructions say to apply two layers and that's it. The product is a lot thinner than regular nail polish, so you need to make sure you are not picking up too much product! If you do accidentally apply too much it runs quick since it is so thin, and you need to remove it with the brush o make sure it does not spill over onto your skin. I loved this product. Tbh I have completely ran out cause I used it almost every other day. A little story here so be warned: For 20 years I have struggled with anxiety, well with that I had a nervous habit of picking at my nails till they were in the quick. I have used other products from this brand and have been very disappointed. This one has left me very surprised. I've only used it twice so far, and it seems to work great. Can I say that I've seen growth within 3 days? Honestly, I can't really tell. However, I have noticed a definite change in my nail strength. I work a lot with my hands when I make costumes and clothing, and my nails tend to break, chip and crack. Since I started using this, my nails seem stronger. I have very brittle nails that break and peel if they get long so I’ve always been on the lookout for something that helps and this works wonders! I keep getting compliments on my nails and how I can actually grow them now. I followed the directions for use as applying 2 coats every 3 days and I haven’t had any problems with peeling or my nails breaking when they get longer. I would suggest also painting underneath the nail tip to strengthen both sides. I would recommend for people with brittle nails, but don’t expect faster nail growth. My daughter bought me this a year ago (by accident – she thought it was the polish). I've used the polish before and found that it you miss a day, the nail crumbles where it chips off so I was quite glad! It doesn't work overnight but over months it really has made a huge difference. I used only this product on my nails (twice a day) for about one month. I wanted to see if it would work. I was going to give up on it, but I started seeing results. My nails have always peeled and broken easily. My nails are now stronger, thicker, longer and not peeling. I have sensitive skin and this item did not cause any irritation like some nail products do. I have also long used a ceramic/glass file, instead of an emery board, which can separate layers of the nail. The only suggestion I have on the Vitamin Strength Serum is that I think a brush would have worked better. I also wanted to comment on the packaging of item. I like that you can see through the bottle. I have used the "Nail Growth Serum" in the dark gold colored bottle. I'm only on week 3 of the process, which is a month long, but so far I've absolutely loved this nail strengthener! I've tried tons of other nail strengtheners, including a $25 one, and this is the best one I've used so far. It doesn't tint the tips of your nails or turn them yellow, and it has a very natural sheen–not too glossy. My nails are stronger than they've ever been. I have only chipped a nail once, and that was at my job during the first week of using this strengthener (I work a pretty hands on, physical job). Since then, I haven't broken or chipped a single nail. I plan on continuing to wear this as a base coat or just naturally on my nails once I'm done with the month. Long ago I gave up on my nails, trying to just handle them short to curtail their peeling and splitting tendencies. Last march I had a shellac mani to be fancy for a wedding and it ruined my already quite pathetic nails. After several months of trying to grow out a vertical split that had resulted I searched for something that would strengthen them enough to at least get back to normal shorties. Well, I saw this product and the reviews and thought i would give it a try. I did follow directions to the letter, which helped and it was at a vacation time for me so I could stay on track. After the first two weeks I had never seen my nails so 'non splitty' , and something in this is definitely fortifying them. After the initial two weeks I went into the 2 week every other day schedule, and I went ahead and purchased the soy remover as well. Pros: much 'cleaner' product line than any I see. I usually am not one to write glowing reviews, but after 6 years of constant nail enhancements (dip powder, gel, and acrylic), I finally have healthy and strong NATURAL nails again! When the pandemic first happened, I was on of the many people who didn’t know what to do without my nail shop. Once my dip powder grew out, my nails were red, thin, brittle and peeling! They were sensitive to touch! I let the sensitivity go away, and then I purchased nailtiques formula 2 plus! After about 1 1/2 months of constant use (one coat applied every day for a week and then removing it on the 7th day and repeat), my nails have never been better! I wear polish and people always think that it’s gel. I also use formula 1 for maintenance, but I don’t have to even use it all the time. If you’re apprehensive, don’t be! I’ve been wearing acrylic nails for well over 20 years and since everything was initially closed from COVID-19, I started bringing my severely damaged nails back to health. I won’t step foot in a salon again! I think overall this does strengthen the nails however, because it does contain formaldehyde I DO NOT use as frequently as directed. I apply one coat and let it stay for a week. During that time I use the Hard as Hoof nail cream to keep my nails and cuticles moist. Once I remove the polish, I DO NOT immediately go to reapply this process. Instead, I let my nails BREATH (still applying my nail cream) for about a week and then redo the polish. Some people don’t realize that it’s really not good to keep burdening your nails with excess or repeated polishing habits as they will equally do just as much damage to the nail. My nails have been so strong since I started using this regularly. I change my manicure about once a week and I apply the Nail Tek Moisturizing Strengthener underneath every other manicure because too much protein can cause nails to harden and therefore snap off when hitting something instead of bending like a healthy nail does.sandra.l

Using it for about a week now and so far am very pleased. Can see a noticeable improvement in my nails, even right after the first application – nail surface is smoother and color more even. Overall, nails look healthier and they do feel a bit stronger. Time will tell if it helps me gain length, but I can already see improvement in a couple of damaged nails that tend to repeatedly split in certain places, so that makes me very happy. When I was seven or so years old, I slammed my right thumbnail in a car door. My nail was allowed to heal on its own– which was not great. The nail has a big bump or two, right in the center of the nailbed and has always caught on fabric or provided an irresistible object to mess with or (better word) aggravate. In my later years, I began to try nail stickers, filing and super glue. The stickers and glue, only made the nail more snaggy and the filing made it thinner — no good results. Then … I stumble upon this product after browsing a scientific article about how the combination of the two main ingredients, showed much promise. After two weeks of applying it about 3 times a day, my thumbnail is nearly unrecognizable. I'm guessing these ingredients have moisturized the nail and bed. I'm not sure about why it feels so much smoother, but I am thrilled with the results. I'm giving these products 2 stars, rather than 1 star, because I really like the soft pink nail polish. Unfortunately, that's the only positive I have. I had bought these products to help my thinning/splitting nails, but the products did nothing to improve my nails. OK so it's the 2 time I buy this product and it's amazing for nail growth. I am that person that always have long acrylic nails because I bite mine but sometimes your nails need to have a little break from that so I use this meanwhile and it does make my nails grow so fast I love it. The color is nice too. You need to put 1 coat every day . The smell is OK just like any other nail treatment it doesn't smell bad and the texture it's a little thick too.
