The whites of my nail tips started growing back within 48 hours! I’ve slaughtered my nails after using press-on nails with nail glue and salon gel manicures, but it was a stupid habit to get into because I have lovely, long, strong, and white-tipped nails naturally. It took me weeks to finally get it in the mail, but I really like this product. My nails are badly damaged from gels and acrylics. The pink color is ok but would not be my choice. It does let me see where it has worn off on the edges more easily though. My nails are easily broken and thin to begin with, so damaged they are very fragile. This is the Orly Nailtrition treatment polish and it retails for $15 at Ulta. This is suppose to be a nail strengthener for peeling and splitting nails. The formula is thick, shiny, and pink. I was hoping for something more clear. Not a deal breaker. It makes the nails appear bright and shiny. I recently wanted to take a break from getting my nails done and had the acrylic removed. I have used Nailtiques Formula 2 for many years. It absolutely improves the strength and look of my nails. The trick is to use it consistently and follow the directions to apply one coat daily. I make one to three applications a week to maintain the results and make sure I always have this on my nails. I don't wear color polish often but Nailtiques works great as a first coat with color polish as the second. If you are just starting out with Nailtiques I would suggest not using colored polish for the first few weeks and just use Nailtiques to give your nails a good start. This is certainly a handy all-in-one product that can be used as a base coat, top coat, fill-in, and nail protectant. I typically do gel or dip on my nails because they are very brittle and prone to flaking. I apply this product over my 1+ week old dip nails to give them extra shine. This product has a lovely, moisturizing gel-like texture that gives a wonderful shine. However, because it has a thicker, more moisturizing consistency, it takes a very long time to dry so would probably not be ideal as a top coat for regular nail polish. If you don’t touch it at all, the finish is beautiful, but even if you accidentally touch it hours later before it has fully dried, the finish can become texturized and dull. I think this is best used as a nail protectant over natural nails or over acrylic/dip/gel. It is super easy to apply with a generous large brush and (relatively) minimal nail polish odor. I would recommend this product on polish-breaks between manicures. It is also a great all-purpose travel polish. This treatment was super beneficial for my natural nails. I had just removed my acrylic nails at home with a regular nail file and some acetone, so my nails were weak, dry, and a little brittle. After washing my hands after all the abrasive removal, I put on two layers of this treatment and then some cuticle oil after it dried. Not only are my nails shiny and healthy-looking, they also feel a lot stronger than before. My nails have always been a little weaker and textured, but I genuinely would not be able to see that with this treatment on. My nails are also significantly smoother than they were with all the filing I did. I also found the smell to be quite pleasant compared to normal nail polish and acetone, but maybe that was because I applied it after smelling acetone fumes for a couple hours. While I love it as a treatment, I cannot vouch for it as a base coat nor a top coat, This could be a good “primer” for a base coat, but it doesn’t seem sticky enough to be a good base coat that helps polish adhere to it. I have been learning how to do my own ombre nails and nail stamping. It can be a long process to apply the many different layers to achieve the look I want, and it is very frustrating to go through all that work only to smear the polish on a nail and have to start over. Enter Sally Insta Dri Top Coat. This awesome little gem is a nice consistency and goes on nicely – it's not too thin, yet doesn't gloop everywhere either. It leaves a nice shiny, clear color, and speeds the drying process. It also does not soak through the nail stamping sealer coat, so it doesn't smear the stamped designs. I have tried some expensive top coats that permeate through the layers of polish and ruin the nail stamping designs. The best part, this top coat protects my manicure! I wash dishes, cook, do laundry, type on a computer, shuffle papers around, and this top coat protects through it all! As any nail professional will tell you, you must touch up your manicure with a good top coat every few days if you want to prolong the life of your manicure. This Sally Insta Dri Top Coat is perfect for that, too. I just apply a quick top coat every other day before I leave for work in the morning and it is completely set by the time I arrive at the office. Perfect! I got the pink tinted nail strengthener and at first really liked it. I decided to wear it on its own, and that was a mistake. In less than a day the polish would chip and flake off. It has absolutely not durability. I’ve removed it, tried prepping my nails, and reapplied it but still had the same problem. I wonder if this would be better under another nail polish, which is why I’m giving it three stars instead of two. I assume those who give this product 5 stars are wearing this underneath another polish and maybe that’s why it works for them. However it does say it could be worn on its own, and yet on its own it’s really subpar. Kinda disappointed but maybe I’ll find a way to use the rest of it so it doesn’t go to wasteGabby
I was pleasantly surprised with how well this product works. I couldn’t believe the amount of growth my nails had made within just 3 days…not to mention they strengthened up a lot. My nails have been a little more brittle lately and this has helped tremendously! Plus, you get the added benefits of a smooth, shiny, pink-tinted nail while they are becoming stronger. It says to take the stuff off after 3 days but you can leave it with no consequences. You can instantly feel the protection added and see a pretty shine. I don’t know that I’d say you can instantly feel them becoming stronger, but you can definitely tell it’s doing it’s job and will be more resistant to stuff within the 3-day period. In the bottle this has a purple tint which is not noticeable once applied, it goes on completely clear. Instructions say to apply two layers and that's it. The product is a lot thinner than regular nail polish, so you need to make sure you are not picking up too much product! If you do accidentally apply too much it runs quick since it is so thin, and you need to remove it with the brush o make sure it does not spill over onto your skin. Other than that small issue it seems to work, my nails do look better and feel a little tougher. Best part is it just looks like a nice clear polish that gives your nails a lovely shine!Janaa

I received Essie Smooth-E basecoat as a #freeproduct to try for my honest review from #topboxcircle #trytopbox. I had never heard of this basecoat so I was intrigued as it stated it was a ridge filler and would give my nails a smooth finish to apply polish. I use a lot of dark colours especially blue that has a tendency to stain my nails. I did find that with the initial application it gave my nails a matte finish with an almost grippy feel and then I applied my Essie polish in a nice deep blue. It did dry quickly before I applied the polish. I have had the blue nail polish on for a few days and did find my nails chipped almost the next day so that was a little disappointing. I absolutely love the entire Essie line, they always have high quality products. It’s my go to for my mani/pedis. The only issues I’ve come across is that my nail polish never lasted a week. It would constantly chip off, but since trying out this base coat that Essie brilliantly thought of, I no longer have that issue. Initially I was a bit skeptical about this product claiming to smooth the ridges in my nails. I recently had acrylic nails taken off and the removal process wrecked havoc on my nails. The surface of my nails were uneven and they were peeling. When I applied the base coat, I noticed that it filled in the weak spots in my nails. When I applied the nail polish on top, my nails felt so smooth. You would not be able to tell that my nails were damaged. I've used Nutra-Nail protein for years. At first I used it several times a day and then at bedtime. Now I use it a couple of times a week. It does a great job if you use it faithfully. I have read some poor reviews and feel those are the people who did not use it faithfully several times a day or only used it for a short period of time. Good results happen in time. When your nails are bad you will see how quickly Nutra-Nail absorbs into the nails. Once your nails start to improve it will take longer for it to absorb. Maybe those who are not happy were using the clear polish and not the protein formula. Who knows??? But I highly recommend this if you want to give it a try. I got this product as a set which included the Nutra Nail Flex-Shield Hardener. I have to tell you all its perfect! Doing dishes and constantly working with my hands my nails were not in the best shape. After using both of these products I was amazed! It really does work. My nail grew longer over time, also It made my nails stronger and they don't get cracks anymore. If I'm using colored nail polish, I use the Nutra Nail Flex-Shield Hardener as both a base and top coat (which really helps the color last). I recommend this to anyone who needs to repair their nails asap! Great product!

Ive tried a lot of products hoping my nails would stop chipping and breaking. Nothing worked, I even gave in into trying Opi Nail Envy which has formaldehyde, I didnt see any difference on the contrary it made my nails worse. I loved this product. Tbh I have completely ran out cause I used it almost every other day. A little story here so be warned: For 20 years I have struggled with anxiety, well with that I had a nervous habit of picking at my nails till they were in the quick. I found this product through my mom (a nail technician) plus vegan pure multivitamin nail hardener (also at Walmart) I started using these products every other day. I have used other products from this brand and have been very disappointed. This one has left me very surprised. I've only used it twice so far, and it seems to work great. Can I say that I've seen growth within 3 days? Honestly, I can't really tell. However, I have noticed a definite change in my nail strength. I work a lot with my hands when I make costumes and clothing, and my nails tend to break, chip and crack. Since I started using this, my nails seem stronger. I have very brittle nails that break and peel if they get long so I’ve always been on the lookout for something that helps and this works wonders! I keep getting compliments on my nails and how I can actually grow them now. I followed the directions for use as applying 2 coats every 3 days and I haven’t had any problems with peeling or my nails breaking when they get longer. I would suggest also painting underneath the nail tip to strengthen both sides. I would recommend for people with brittle nails, but don’t expect faster nail growth. I'm giving these products 2 stars, rather than 1 star, because I really like the soft pink nail polish. Unfortunately, that's the only positive I have. I had bought these products to help my thinning/splitting nails, but the products did nothing to improve my nails. I've had better luck in the past with Barielle nail products and Sally Hansen.Claudia

I have been getting gel nails for decades! Since I have retired I have not been getting them and my nails were like Saran Wrap. I tried vertically everything over the counter and nothing worked. Two hours after application of one coat and my nails are still creasing and denting because it isn't dry yet. Its stringy to apply, the brush is tiny and round, so it doesn't spread the polish well across the nails. I might be able to tolerate any of those things if it actually worked, but two weeks later and zero noticeable difference in nail strength. Absolute garbage.EJNichols
I have issues with some of my nails bending, so I thought this would be ideal. How wrong I was! It goes on lovely, although the smell is really really strong. Then the next day I added an extra layer as suggested (a layer everyday for 4 days) which is when I noticed how much has been chipped off already. But I added a layer nonetheless. I didn't bother adding layer 3 or 4 as 90% of the varnish had already chipped off and my nails are not stronger for it, in fact 2 nails have broken whilst wearing the "miracle nail thickener"Sam86
It is such a waste. White school glue would be cheaper and better. (And who would use that?) Makes a clear plastic like coating that peels off very easily despite cleaning nails with alcohol or soap and water first. Tried everything. The coating gets micro bubbles in it that are unsightly. Didn't last but a couple hrs doing desk work. Won't survive a shower. The nail tips were bare afterward. Never thickened nails unless you count the coating sitting on top of nails as making them thicker…which is true, but is deceptive if you are counting on your nails actually getting thicker and stronger. It cannot penatrate your nails. It doesn't even stick to them! This is pure junk.RK

I liked this product for strengthening my nails after using dip and gel polishes but it takes a lot of repeated use to see a major difference. The application is easy because the brush is really nice. I do have nail strengthening products that make an impact faster than this but I do think it's worth trying.sara.c
OK so it's the 2 time I buy this product and it's amazing for nail growth. I am that person that always have long acrylic nails because I bite mine but sometimes your nails need to have a little break from that so I use this meanwhile and it does make my nails grow so fast I love it. The color is nice too. You need to put 1 coat every day . The smell is OK just like any other nail treatment it doesn't smell bad and the texture it's a little thick too. I do recommend this productfernanda.p
