I received Essie Smooth-E basecoat as a #freeproduct to try for my honest review from #topboxcircle #trytopbox. I had never heard of this basecoat so I was intrigued as it stated it was a ridge filler and would give my nails a smooth finish to apply polish. I use a lot of dark colours especially blue that has a tendency to stain my nails. I did find that with the initial application it gave my nails a matte finish with an almost grippy feel and then I applied my Essie polish in a nice deep blue. It did dry quickly before I applied the polish. I have had the blue nail polish on for a few days and did find my nails chipped almost the next day so that was a little disappointing. I absolutely love the entire Essie line, they always have high quality products. It’s my go to for my mani/pedis. The only issues I’ve come across is that my nail polish never lasted a week. Initially I was a bit skeptical about this product claiming to smooth the ridges in my nails. I recently had acrylic nails taken off and the removal process wrecked havoc on my nails. This is the Orly Nailtrition treatment polish and it retails for $15 at Ulta. This is suppose to be a nail strengthener for peeling and splitting nails. The formula is thick, shiny, and pink. I have used just about every product out there to strengthen soft nails that just won't grow. I purchased this product back in February and wanted to try it before writing this review. The Nonyx Gel has nearly cleared the problem and the nail is returning to its original pink color. The results are amazing. I recommend this product 100 percent. Just keep using it daily and give it time to work.Gary
People need to read the box before trying this. It softens the fungal debris so it can be removed, taking away the food supply for the fungus but it takes time. The key is to get it under the nail as far as possible and then periodically clean out the softened gunk underneath. If you don’t do this it won’t work. So if you want instant gratification then neither this nor any anti fungal will make you happy. But if you follow instructions it will work over time, quicker for some, slower for others depending on the degree of fungal infection. If you’ve let your feet go for awhile it will take longer. So the secret is to be patient. Tip: also put some gel on the pad of a band aid and then wear it wrapped around the nail. Change daily. Will slightly accelerate process.John
I have used Nonyx for the last month or so after trying many different things to combat toenail fungus. None seemed to have much effect but since Nonyx my nails are a lot whiter and growing out looking better. I have several that have been thickened for quite some time and they are still thick, but by keeping them closely trimmed and cleaned out under the nail and apply Nonyx twice a day I can see some improvement. Does not happen overnight but over time I think they are showing improvement. I would suggest that a brush of some kind be included with the Nonyx as I have had to use one I had for another toe nail product to adequately push the product up under the toenails as far as I can. My only concern is that I have read that Nonyx does not get to the real problem – the fungus – but helps with appearance which it does. Although it may be temping to peel off the product after applying several coats, I encourage you not to do this as it will also remove part of the strengthened nail bed that you are trying to repair. It's my own fault. I keep buying Sally Hansen products and 90% of the time, they disappoint me. This one is my biggest mistake. Like other reviewers have said, The Moonstone color looks much more appealing in the bottle. When I paint my nail, it's so thin and barely shows. I have to do three coats just to see anything. Unfortunately, it looks and feels like those cheap nail polishes meant for children. I figured it could be used as a cute top coat since it's so clear, but it goes on clumpy and somehow there's tiny air bubbles? The only positive is that it does dry within 60 seconds. I got this back in June from my local sallys beauty store, to paint my nails before I left for California. Never painted my nails until today. The bottle is not even 3 months old and omg it is horrible. The color is so beautiful but the application was applying like it is was a oldie. Streaks, very splotchy not at all impressed. Even with the double duty polish by sally hansen there is no saving this horrible nail polish. Air bubbles, smears so easily even though I waited 10 minutes to make sure it was dry. It’s possible I got a bad batch, but my experience with this polish was terrible. I got the ‘My Ca-Banana’ colour. The first time I used it, I couldn’t get it to go on my nails evenly at all, it was extremely streaky and formed clumps that wouldn’t smooth out. I kept trying and ended up needing to do three and a half coats to get it opaque. I let each coat dry in front of a fan on high for 10 minutes, and 20 minutes after I had finished, I bumped my toe into the corner of a table and the polish came right off of that nail in one clump. I initially chocked this up to me not having painted my own nails in a very long time and maybe just doing too many coats so I took it all off and tried again.
I did two thin coats, drying for 10 minutes between, over 40 hours ago now and I can /still/ press my fingernail into it and leave an obvious dent. It was tacky up until about 24 hours after applying. Dont bother with this nail polish, any other cheap nail polish would be better.Onyx Cave

The first bottle of Barielle I ordered and used was the beginning of a great experience. My nails never looked as good as they did after my first polish. They were so much thicker and I could keep them growing until I wanted to change my regular polishes. Even the color of my assortment of polish colors stayed on so much longer and looked fresher many days more than they had before. After reading about this so-called miracle product for years, I finally decided to purchase it for my problem nails. I am so disappointed in it. It goes on like a nail polish and is very shiny. After about a day, it starts coming off, just like nail polish. When you take it off with nail polish remover, your nails are weaker than ever and in worse condition than before. I even purchased a nail polish remover without acetone so this would not happen. I do not recommend this product to anyone who has nails that crack and peel. I wasted my money.

I read about this nail product in a catalog sent to my mom. Ordered this – pricy – and the light pink nailpolish. I work hard with my hands and hated the process of removing gel products from my nails and they usually felt rough after it was removed for new polish. However, this product comes off just like any other nail polish. The difference I've noted is that it lasts longer on my nail and doesn't thicken after wearing a bit. Keeps its luster, didn't notice ends roughing up, snagging, or breaking of the ends which even my gel polish didn't stop. I have tried and tried to get some sort of treatment from my local GP but for some reason nothing is available therefore I was over the moon when I found your product on the internet. I bought this in the hopes that I would finally find a nail softener that actually worked for me. Years ago I bought one that did the job, but when I got a second bottle (of the same product) a couple of years later, it smelled different and did not work. Guess they had changed the ingredients. THIS sounded good, so I bought a bottle, but it took a week of applying it twice a day before I noticed anything happening and that was a very slight softening. I've used Nutra-Nail protein for years. At first I used it several times a day and then at bedtime. Now I use it a couple of times a week. It does a great job if you use it faithfully. I have read some poor reviews and feel those are the people who did not use it faithfully several times a day or only used it for a short period of time. Good results happen in time. When your nails are bad you will see how quickly Nutra-Nail absorbs into the nails. Once your nails start to improve it will take longer for it to absorb. Maybe those who are not happy were using the clear polish and not the protein formula. Who knows??? But I highly recommend this if you want to give it a try. I got this product as a set which included the Nutra Nail Flex-Shield Hardener. I have to tell you all its perfect! Doing dishes and constantly working with my hands my nails were not in the best shape. After using both of these products I was amazed! It really does work. My nail grew longer over time, also It made my nails stronger and they don't get cracks anymore. If I'm using colored nail polish, I use the Nutra Nail Flex-Shield Hardener as both a base and top coat (which really helps the color last). I recommend this to anyone who needs to repair their nails asap! Great product!

Picture was taken after a week ( just the nail white pencil and sally hansen hard as wraps polish) Great product for when you want to rock natural nails. In my experience its best to use this pencil wet on each nails under and above . Let dry for a minute or two then lightly wash your hands . Dry immediately then with either a base coat or nail strengther coat paint the underside of your nail to lock the white in and keep it from washing out quickly. If not the white will wash away within a few washes. I tend to prep my nails as well with a bakingsoda perioxide mix to get rid of any stains .nicole.l
Many have mentioned that sharpening this pencil with a regular pencil sharpener doesn't work. Yes, the lead is soft so it will break off, therefore, it is a pain, but I love the results, so I use an exacto knife to hand carve the pencil to a workable point and I'm having fun doing it. I like to have natural nails, this pencil whitens the underside of the nail and if there is any residue, I use a moistened q-tip to wipe up the edges. Sometimes I use the Orly red tinted polish and then use the pencil, other times, I just leave my nails natural and my nails look clean and tidy! I hope they don't ever stop making this pencil!

I fell in love with this color and absolutely had to have it – I love all of the colors in this collection but only bought 4, Synthetic Symphony, Kaleidoscope Eyes, Artificial Orange, and Neon Paradise, and now I'm thinking I need the other colors I didn't originally buy! The formula on these polishes is incredible, they all go on beautifully smooth and shiny. I found Neon Paradise slightly less opaque than the other 3 shades, but not enough to matter or be noticeable to anyone else looking at my nails. All of the shades really are as rich and beautiful as they look in photos. I would say Artificial Orange is even brighter and more neon in real life than in the marketing photos! I also found these wear longer and better than other cremes I own. (I did apply the Quixotic sticky base coat and OPI topcoat with all the shades.) It's a super pretty shade; it's a bit like a BB cream for your nails. A sheer wash that hides the texture and imperfections. I really want to love it, since I'm not particularly good at painting my nails, and this is such a forgiving shade. Unfortunately, you really can't wear this on its own. This turns the tips of my nails clear in splotches– it looks like I just got out of the shower all day. This is especially strange as the effect lasts for a few days after taking it off, and I've never seen a polish do that before. I expect it would be fine on quite short nails, or if you used a white shade for the tips, and didn't mind what they look like for the first day or so after removing the polish.Lily
