20 Best Non Uv Gel Nail Polish (2024 Update)

I am not one to leave a review. I am a long time nail salon junkie and finally decided to "do my own" . I have done the dip and gel polish at home for a few years now and hate the time consumption of the dip and gel keep up. So I have decided to try another route again. I am now relishing in my natural nail beauty and have found this product to be a life saver! I start with an OPI Nail Envy nail strengthener, and then any polish of my choice, I currently am using OPI brand. I then seal with Big Dry top coat from Sally Hansen. This dries really fast. I then use the SALLY HANSEN MIRACLE GEL TOP COAT, it dries in about 5 minutes, and then I add one more coat of the Big Dry top coat.. and PERFECT AND LONG LASTING RESULTS! All I can say is I think it dries faster if you use the big dry top coat prior to just putting it directly onto the polish. Other than that this is fabulous and I will keep using this product with every polish change etc… LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!Amanda Cain

It’s also lasted longer than any of the other expensive polish brands I own (all the ones that promise no chips for two weeks and then they chip next day no matter how careful you are). I’ve gotten a bit less than a week’s wear out of it, but even now it’s only a couple chips on a few fingers, which is to be expected because I’m a mom of young kids, so I am constantly doing something with my hands and washing them. I see other reviewers mentioning how sheer applications are, which is true, but it just means you need a couple extra coats, which honestly isn’t a big deal; I find that most polishes, no matter how much coverage they give you, need additional coats anyways. You can get thick coverege that hides your ridges without needing to buff your nails if you do 2 color and 1 top coat. Ho Ho holy moly! This is an AMAZING polish! Most glitter polishes (which is the version I’m reviewing) smear when you put them on or don’t show up at all. This Deep Sea Diamonds polish shows up and then some! It not only has small glitter but bigger pieces as well which makes it super sparkly! I’m wearing it over a darker color but you can definitely wear this on its own. Two coats is all you need but you can get away with one. The formulation is on the thicker side which helps keep the glitter in tact. Add a quick dry top coat and you’re done! Highly recommend! If you follow me, I’d like to first say thank you so much! I recently ordered 5 colors through Kiara Sky and absolutely love all of them! I was told about this brand through my cousin who is a loyal customer of theirs. There are sooo many to choose from and it is very hard to not pick them all. I love glitter and they have a ton of glitter options. They also offer deals and have texting and email offers if you sign up which is nice to take advantage of. I enjoy using gel nail polish but have struggled in the past with cheaper brands lasting on my nails. My hands get pretty beat up as I am a vet technician and workout daily. My nails would often chip in a week despite follow gel polish ways of using. I have had on this color for a little over a week now and so far no chipping and it seems to be holding up very well! I'm excited to try the other colors I purchased. The only complaint I have is it took 3 weeks for delivery and I kept receiving misleading emails about where my package was and if it had even shipped or not. Otherwise, the colors came in a cute box with preventable measures for them not to break. I will most likely be ordering again if these colors continue to hold up well on my nails. I was excited to try Kiara Sky! My cousin told me about this brand and I decided to try it since other brands I have used in the past would chip. I have tried this color and it last two weeks. Which is amazing because usually my nails using other gel products wouldn't last a week without chipping. I love this color as purple is my favorite color. There are a ton of colors to choose from and I wanted them all! They also send out texts and emails with offers such as 15% off. I also enjoy the fact they are promoted cruelty free which is huge for me. This duo gets the job done but not the best compared to others. The base doesn’t always lay smoothly and that really shows on the polish. The top coat takes forever to dry and even when it’s been cured it still has a tacky feeling to it which can leave marks on your polish. So you need to purchase something else to wipe on top of the final coat for the proper finish. Too much work.zena.a

DND was the first gel polish company I used. So naturally I knew nothing how about other brands. I use the top coat majority of the time when I was learning how to do nails. With that being said I loved it until I started doing more research. This top coat is not as shiny as I would like it to be, now that I have been using other brands. I have since than moved on to nailsupplyglamour top coat. What has bothered me about this brand top coat is once you use alcohol to wipe off the top layer it instantly gets dull. Now I know this is not a top coat that you need to wipe, but if you accidentally got something on it and you need to wipe it off you definitely can't use alcohol. This is definitely beginners friendly, so if you need something cheap to learn how to do nails, and need a basic top coat this is your product.kamry.m

I have since used with many other gel color brands and they work wonderfully. The top coat is NOT super-thick, like some other brands, so I use as little as possible. Also, be sure not to tilt your nails to the sides when putting into the LED/UV curing machine (doing so may result in pooled topcoat at the sides of the nail, if you have used a little too much). I typically cure my thumbs separately, so that all my fingers lay FLAT in the curing lamp. The finish is beautifully shiny and does require the sticky film to be removed with alcohol after curing the final coat. Super easy to use… with a nice slim brush (not short or thick)… Great product for the price!natasha.k

The top and base coat bottles look identical to their gel polish color bottles except for the fact that the text on the bottle indicates which formula is which. Each bottle has a sticker on top of the cap that says "Base" and "No Wipe Top" so you can easily find them if you store your polishes inside a box. I used a 1 minute cure time with a UV/LED lamp for each layer of base, color, and top coat that was applied. Thin coats are key in getting the polish to last, as is doing the proper prep work to your nails (buffing and cleaning the surface) prior to any application of the formula.The base coat is slightly tacky after curing it, which helps to get the color coat to stick and not shrink. The top coat is a no wipe formula which leaves a smooth surface and a plump and glossy shine. As for the durability, a manicure done with this base and top coat along with an Aimeili color gel lasts for 14 days with minimal wear to the tips and hardly a chip in sight. Individually, the base and top coat sell for $6.99 each, but as a set, you will only pay $9.99. This is insanely cheap as you get 10 mL of polish in each bottle. Other gel top and base coats easily cost more than double that price for even less polish inside, and the ones from Aimeili are of an equal quality to them, if not better. This is my favorite at home summer color it brings out the melanin in my skin against this bold color making your nails noticeable from a distance or up close. The color is TC11 lime green with normal temp lawn green when cold. I love the transition of the colors because it mesmerizes some people when they notice the color change. Love love love! There are not enough words to express how much I love this too coat! It is a bit on the pricey side, however, it is well worth it! Other top coats have never held up as well as this one. There is no smudging, and they last for several days before chipping (which is the first top coat to ever do that for me). Its just your average top coat. Calling this anywhere close to gel is a joke. I followed up a red gel couture polish with this matching top coat and within a few hours my nails have all ready chipped and worn on the tips. Save your money and get a lower cost alternative, it's going to do just as well. This also drags off the color of your polish with it regardless of how long your polish has been drying. This top coat is pretty good! It was very easy apply, and went on very smooth. I had no issues applying it. It did take 5-10 minutes to fully dry. Within the first couple of days I was noticing that the polish under the top coat started the break apart but the top coat was still doing well. By day 3 I was starting to see some small chips on some of my nails, but one nail I had tried a different kind of gel polish from Essie (the blue/grey nail) and that one didn't have any chips yet. It is day 4 now of wearing the polishes, the blue/grey polish on my left hand (my non dominant hand) has a small chip at the side, but my right is still doing well. It seems like the polish underneath determines how well the top coat does and lasts. Some last, some don't. It's a pretty good top coat though!louise.c

Anyone considering setting up an at home gel kit with Gelish…. JUST DO IT!! I had never been that into nail polish since I always dented it as it was drying, it could get everywhere, and even if the application looked perfect, I knew that would last 48hours max before chipping. So I tried gel. I purchased a starter kit with Gelish and a small LED lamp back around 20019 and I've never looked back. My collection continues to grow and grow and I finally upgraded to the best LED lamp in the market – the official big Harmony lamp which is amazing. Also, my nails always were weak and peeled. Now I have long, strong nails that people enviously comment on. I could talk about this forever but here's what you need to know. Don't buy UV – it's suspected to be dangerous for skin and takes a long time. Just go LED – Shellac is really the only brand that's stuck in the UV land. Almost everything else is LED compatible. You only need to buy the Gelish base, a colour, and the top coat. You don't need PH Bond or cleanser or remover or anything else (you may find your nails are particularly oily and require the PH Bond later, but experiment first rather than wasting money). Where to buy these things? If you're in Australia go to Harehouse Warehouse to look at the colours. They sell Minis for $20 which is wayyyy too expensive. Then find a seller in your State on eBay (to minimise postage costs) and buy full size bottles from them for $20 once you've picked a colour in real life at the shop. The branded cleanser and remover are just expensive ways of buying rubbing alcohol and 100% acetone respectively. Just go to Bunnings and stock up. There's so much you can do once you've mastered the basic gel mani. Look into stamping (you can start with Konad as a brand – there are others, but this is a good quality popular one to start with), embellishments like rhinestones, pigments that can be combined, striping tape, dotting tools, etc. I'm always discovering new ways to build my repertoire – there's no limit to what you can do. Start following nail people on Instagram and build up a library of ideas to browse when you sit down to do a mani. This is such an easy and relaxing process – it's definitely how I treat myself every 1.5-2 weeks. I sit down, remove my last mani, prep my nail and create something new and amazing all over again while watching some telly and eating chocolate. It's great. And I'm ALWAYS getting compliments on my different manis – from friends, shop assistants, anyone.rugile.k

I received this color, Sea Foam Gelish Polish and was really excited to used it. I have been doing my own gel nails now for many years. I have the highest quality professional lights and I know what I'm doing. This color would not cure under the lights. I received a replacement and the replacement also would not cure. I tried 5 other colors of the same brand to make sure my lights were working. Yes, they all cured exactly as expected. I tried curing this color longer. 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes. Still would not cure. I was careful to use thin layers and use the same brand base and top coat. Still no cure. I'm sure sad about it. I really wanted this color to work. Sleeknail gave me a credit to buy a different polish which is what I ended up doing.Katie S.

I’ve used Gelish gel nail polish for years ever since I’ve started doing my nails at home to save money. It was the gel used in the salon I used to go to so I was surprised to find it so readily available first at Amazon and later at Sally Beauty. I like that the colors come in smaller sizes so they don’t dry up by the time you use them. I also like that the top coat and base coat come in larger bottles. For around $10 a bottle, the gel polish lasts a long time before drying out or becoming clumpy. This stays on well and keeps its true color. I could probably go 3-4 weeks, but my nails grow quickly and I’d prefer to do them every two weeks so they are always looking fresh and pretty. You do have to cure the polish with either a UV (older polishes) or an LED light (newer polishes), but these lights are available on Amazon as well. Gelish comes in 192 colors, according to gelish.com, which is insane, so you have plenty of colors to choose from. If you want to see all the colors, definitely check out Gelish.com. I recommend this gel polish and will continue to purchase it although recently I’ve been buying a brand called Beetles which comes in kits and sets, is super reasonably priced and works just as well (also available on Amazon- just search Beetles gel polish).wendy.r

I bought this last weekend and tried it this week, but the colour was really streaky and thin. I checked the website which says apply two coats and then allow to dry for 5 minutes. Not sure what I could've done wrong because I shook the bottle vigorously and allowed plenty of time between each coat, and it was as if the second coat of step 1 dissolved the first coat, and the brush was scraping back the last coat of colour when I applied the second coat of step 1. My natural nail was showing through the polish after a second coat. After I applied the top gel coat (step 2), it was still tacky the next day! The shine top coat also seemed to dissolve the pigment and drag it around as I brushed the top coat over the nail, so after the Step 2 coat it's left patches in my nails with no colour now. One of my nails weirdly turned out matte after I put the gloss coat on it. I have had much better results from cheap $2 brands but this was over $30 for the set of step 1 and 2 polishes, and it's so fussy and I can't do anything with my hands for hours after applying because it'll ruin the finish. Absolute ripoff. I want to return both polishes.Leesh

Wanna talk about the perfect neutral nail polish?? Essie gel couture in corset is a pure dream. On my particular skin tone which is a light with neutral undertones,,( if that helps??) this polish is the perfect I'm not wearing any polish but yet my nails look absolutely perfect and gorgeous. After using two generous coats it still shows a bit sheer, which in this case is fine with me. I also really appreciate the brush, it's a bit thicker which is easy to pass over your fingertip and about two swipes. Essie corset leans a little bit closer on the nude than the pink side. Which in my opinion means more on the natural nail side instead of the fake pink side. Don't get me wrong I love pink. Although on some days I want to have my nails ,look amazing look without anything on them, but yet there is something on them and they look perfectly healthy, shiny and unstoppable! Essie is a heavenly neutral that I would highly recommend to anybody looking for that sort of thing.catherine.p

Even while chipping/wearing away, the polish remained perfectly smooth and pearly on my nails. I love this Essie Couture Gel Polish it is one of my new favorites. The application of this gel polish is very precise and very smooth with no streaks. One coat would actually look great but I did two for long lasting wear. I had this polish on for about 2 weeks and it did not chip away. I was very amazed because I’m constantly washing dishes and deep cleaning. (I am a mother of 5) The applicator is the perfect size to get your whole nail without going over the edges and making a mess. This color is beautiful and sheer with a little shimmer. It is very buildable so if you do not like the sheer you can darken it. It dries very quickly and is has a nice shine. This color is very neutral which makes great for all year round looks. Hands down one of the best gel polishes out there! I love this color red – you almost don't need two coats the color is so great. It is stunning both matte as well as shiny. It goes on smoothly and is seriously a fabulous red. You couldn't ask for more. The price point is one of the best as well. This is my go to color! It’s absolutely the perfect shade of pale pink! the color build up is great, you can do light or more opaque. I’ve even done a French fade using this color alongside some white acrylic paint (youtubed it) and it turned out so so good. I cannot tell you how much I love this color! I got it in a set of 5 or 6 colours all within the neutral tones and this one is almost out. My manicures last about 10 days before they start to grow out.simone.r

This is my new favorite gel polish of all time. I love the color, the longevity, the price, the little sparkles in it. The color is a pretty light raspberry pink when they’re cold, and a milky/clear pearly white when they’re warm. I got my bottle off Amazon for $6.99 USD. When I don’t pick at my nails (which I have a bad habit of doing…) they last for a couple weeks. It’s not prone to chipping which is so nice. The glitter chunks are large. Personally I like that because the white of the color change is milky/clear and it gives it something to work with, but if you don’t like that you know now! Although I love Essie Nail Polish, I will give an honest review for this product. The colour that I got was Jewels and Jacquard. The outcome of the colour is actually prettier than I thought but it is not a colour that I would personally pay for. I prefer colours that my outfit can easily match. I love the brush the Essie gel couture nail polish has; It makes it very easy for me to apply. The Essie gel couture nail polish also dries in no time. If it were not for this colour, I would say that I totally love this Essie gel couture nail polish. Even though the Essie gel couture nail polish is priced on the high end, I cannot wait to try the other colours available.Bella

I received this as a #freeproduct from Top Box to review. I have used this nail polish before and its a great polish to use. It lasts a lot longer than other nail polish brands, so you're not always having to redo your nails. Normally I wouldn't use such a light color, I prefer brighter more bold colors, but this pink was pretty on my finger nails. I do recommend using a primer color under this pink (Gossamer Garments) unless you like the sheerness of light pink. This was a cute color for my toe nails. I did find the brush to be a little big for my nail bed, which would leave a little polish on the side of my toe, but nothing a q-tip and remover can't fix! This nail polish dries quicker than most other brands as well! Overall I love Essie Nail Polish and will continue to purchase their line, I would recommend this brand to friends or family!Jennifer

This is my first time trying a gel polish, and I was not disappointed. Applying was easy, and 2 coats was all that I needed for complete coverage. It's been a week, and the color remains covering my nails. I was pleasantly surprised how fast it dried, as well. Sally Hansen knows nail polish! I will buy again, for sure.Meres

I absolutely love the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Color. This polish dries quickly, there are abundant color options. This polish also lasts a good 7-9 days on my natural nails without chipping.Meredith

First time purchasing Sally Hansen Miracle Gel. I'm not brand loyal, so I've tried Wet N Wild 1-Step Gel and salon gel manicures. I got the Slater-Girl and Matte Top Coat. I followed instructions with wait times and it does take a long time to dry, but I really like the new matte top coat. I cannot attest to longevity of the matte, but it definitely looks like what I got done at the nail salon so the money savings is a plus! 1 less star for the long-drying time, but I feel like the matte top coat allows one to correct the smudging pretty easily. Probably best if purchased on sale or with an ECB offer, since $10 is pricey for a bottle.Independence20

The nail polish is nice. applies easily and dries a bit faster than other brands. during the first few hours it'll get scratches or texture until it's 100% set. (it was completely dry when I went to sleep, passed the fingerprint test, but had random scratches the next morning). after it dried it became seemingly indestructible. I work in a warehouse, I use tools and have my hands in machines all day and it didn't chip at all. (I used 3 coats) however i had another shade that chipped and budged just from washing dishes and playing with a one year old. in any other case I'd say its way too expensive to risk getting a shade that has a 50/50 chance of chipping easily, but target has a good return policyM

I used this nail polish for the first time three days ago and I couldn't be happier with the result! For years I have had acrylic nails and have recently stopped because I don't have time to go and get them done with my new baby, so I decided to invest in some new nail polish and boy am I glad I did! I used the JINsoon Power Coat Strengthening Base Coat, followed by 2 coats of the Essie Light Lilac, then the JINsoon Top Gloss Quick Dry Top Coat, and finished off with the Essie Quick-e Drying Drops Nail Polish Treatment and my nail look AMAZING! They actually look like I've got shellac on. And what's even more amazing, they dried SUPER fast! It took me maybe 10-15 minutes to do the application, and then I let dry for maybe 20-30 minutes and they were completely set. I was able to get dinner ready and do the dishes straight away with no denting or smudging! This is a game changer! I'm now on day three and they still look as good as day 1! Essie has great new limited edition fall colors just in time for "swetta weatha" and I'm really feeling them. I have Feelin' Amped, High Voltage Vinyl and Off the Record. My two favorites are Feelin' Amped and High Voltage Vinyl. Feelin' Amped is an intense but unique blue that reminds of a mix between cobalt blue and peacock blue. You only need one coat of polish since the polish covers very well and has a really smooth, shiny finish. This color would also look amazing if you added a mattifying powder to it as well. High Voltage Vinyl is a gorgeous onyx base with gold. I didn't like it very much at first because I was probably still in summer mode, but now that it's fall, this color would go perfectly with a pair of black jeans and a black leather jacket. It's an interesting color since it takes on olive green tint in some lights, but in the sun, you can definitely see the beautiful gold tones. Off the Record is your classic, elegant wine color. It goes well with any outfit and any skin tone…You can't go wrong with a nice merlot color…it's perfect for this season and the next!Lovely1
