I purchased 1700 square foot of 80 year old 2×6 tongue and groove boards 12 foot to 16 foot long each. This tool was a life saver. I was able to remove all the nails in every board in two days. Two five gallon buckets of nails. With breaks, This was an accomplishment for a women who isn't very handy and kinda lazy lol. This thing made it so easy. It knocked about 45% of the nails out completely from the boards but the nails were large ones and my air compressor would not get over 120psi. I believe if I had a better air compressor it would have knocked more completely out of the boards. Even with the ones that did not come all the way out it was very easy to pull them out after the air gun was used.. I was able to straighten the nails that were bent with ease. There were a few nails that went flying all the way across the yard. I did not have the greatest set up as far as my work area but I am a female that does not have a shop. I have a bad shoulder and I still have to pull the nails from the other side but this takes care of half the work. If the nail is bent, just straighten it out as you put the tool over the nail and bend the nail till it's straight and pull the trigger. Sometimes it will knock the nail completely out of the board. Received the nailer this morning. Seems to be of quality workmanship. I am impressed so far. Came with nails, oil, air hook up and instructions. I have used it already to instal quarter round trim. Easy to use. The only way I feel to improve this product is to have a tool bag included.hopwal
To the gentleman or lady that could not get this nailer to function properly. I had a similar issue of not getting the nail through the desired wood. However, by increasing the pressure from the compressor it will increase the power to the nailer. Allowing you sufficient compression power to nail through the desired thickness. This is a well built tool. Seems of high quality, not too light wieght for its size, not too heavy. Little surprised that it has to be oiled with each use, but for the price, you really can't beat it. I already have a pancake compressor, so this tool made much more sense than a battery powered one. The 'safety' trigger guard seems unnecessary to me, but I don't think it will get in the way of work. All these are just initial impressions. I will see if there is a way to update my review after using it on some projects.QuickCarl
Bought this for small craft projects, i.e. thin trim, small picture frames,etc. It works great, just like I had hoped for. In fact, I'm thinking of new ideas to use it. It'll be used a lot, I'm sure. I bought some old gym floor that was still attached to the sleepers. I had to pull off the tongue and groove flooring from the sleepers and then get the aluminum notched nails out without tearing the flooring up. This nail remover worked like a charm. This product is solidly made, simple to use and performs well. The impact provided to push out nails is excellent. One issue that we have found is that there should be a warning on the device about the danger of injury to anybody standing downstream of the device, since the nails become projectiles once they are driven from the timber when the device is used on thinner pieces of timber. We have decided that the device should only be used to drive nails vertically down into a metal bucket or drum with sand in it to prevent the chance of ricochet.occuser
I purchased 1700 square foot of 80 year old 2×6 tongue and groove boards 12 foot to 16 foot long each. This tool was a life saver. I was able to remove all the nails in every board in two days. Two five gallon buckets of nails. With breaks, This was an accomplishment for a women who isn't very handy and kinda lazy lol. This thing made it so easy. It knocked about 45% of the nails out completely from the boards but the nails were large ones and my air compressor would not get over 120psi. I believe if I had a better air compressor it would have knocked more completely out of the boards. Even with the ones that did not come all the way out it was very easy to pull them out after the air gun was used.. I was able to straighten the nails that were bent with ease. There were a few nails that went flying all the way across the yard. I did not have the greatest set up as far as my work area but I am a female that does not have a shop. Be careful because the nails fly out sometimes and hit me in the legs leaving some bruising but again that was my setup.koolaidkm7640

Building a 2 x 6 foundation for a storage shed and this tool is great ! Drives 3 1/4 serated nails with no problem . No jambs , easy to load and well balanced . This tool is heavy but all framing nailers are so this is not a complaint . I am running it with a full size compressor but I believe it would do fine with a portable one as long as you are doing single shots . Very happy with my purchase . does not come with a carry case but for the price you can purchase one elsewhere and it is still a good deal . Saves a lot of time if you are doing a lot of nailing . Be aware nails for framing nailers are kind of pricey so take that into account before starting your project . Really like not having to swing a hammer when it is 85 to 90 degrees outside ! Makes it easy to put in the proper amount of nails when you do not have to put them all in with a hammer . also worked great for nailing on the 3/4 treated plywood decking using shorter nails , again no jambs and sinks the nails to the proper depth without issues .PS , use plenty of air tool oil before and during operation with any air nailer !jsd8315
I purchased this item because it was cheaper than some of the other name brand items and I didn't expect to be using it much. Didn't want to pay a lot of money for something that will just sit on the shelf most of the time. That being said, I am really impressed with the quality of this nail hammer. It completed the job I was working on without any issues – not a single nail jam or anything. It is much more durable than I expected it to be for the money it cost. Now that I've got some experience with it and can see how useful and easy it is to use, it's going to get a lot more use than I originally expected as it has joined my list of favorite tools.Dennis

All my Central Pneumatic stuff bought a Harbor Freight works well and is of an excellent value. Just used the 16 Gauge Finish Nailer to attach pressure treated 2 x 4s to build a rack to hold my truck cap. With the small 100 lb Harbor Freight Compressor, I was able to shoot about 70, 2 1/2 inch nails into the 2 x 4s. Every nail went all the way in and no miss fires or jams. Couldn't ask for anymore out of a $54.00 16 Gauge Air Nailer. Please note that trying to buy the Nailer from the Harbor Freight Web site was a no go. I placed an order about 2 1/2 months ago for the gun and never received it or any communication. Customer Service did not acknowledge my emails and then I received an email that the order was cancelled??? I walked into a Harbor Freight Store in Wareham, MA and they had the Nailer in stock and I was in and out in 5 minutes. I then went to three other Harbor Freight stores trying to find the 16 Gauge Finishing Nails and none of the store had any in stock. I ended up buying the nails at Home Depot (had an excellent selection, but they were a lot more expensive). Too close to the price of name brand. Shoe is cheap and deteriorates quickly. Leaves large holes much larger than the size of the nail into wood. Cheap and it works well though. So far early use after hundreds of nails only one misfire and one accidentally double fire. Dropped three times from six feet and continues to operate. Ordering a bostich for large project as primary and using this as a backup.Yes sir!
Good out of the box. Depth adjustment isn’t super great, but I was putting nails into fiber cement hardie trim boards. So that was probably a little tough for it. Every so often I’d go back with a hammer and give a nail an extra whack or two and we’d be good. Still a lot better than nailing. A few curly nails came out but nothing crazy. Maybe five in about 500 so I’d say that’s fine. It did jame twice near the end, but I think that was just because I hadn’t put oil in it since the morning. Once I got oil in her again she worked great. Would definitely recommend.Nick

I added another 4 ampere hour 20V battery to my inventory a few weeks ago. My snowblower came with 2 of these, and one of my other power tools has one… so I decided to get another one, so I had a spare pair to use with my snowblower. Shortly after it arrived, we got a good foot of snow…heavy wet stuff first, then powder. I cleared the sidewalks at my condo building, and was working on the neighbors when the first pair ran out. I bought this because I had previously bought a lawnmower. The batteries that came with the lawnmower (1.5 yrs old) could not mow my front yard. I bought extra batteries and was hoping for them to hold a charge longer per their description. I was almost done with the front yard when they lost charge and I had to switch over to the other batteries. The other batteries (ones that came with the lawnmower) when they drain it doesn't even have a bar left or a green flashing light when placed on the battery charger. I purchased this based on reviews and it appeared to be a quality unit. It stopped working after a few hours of use and reminded me why I don't buy anything from Canadian Tire that I expect to last. My 15 year old air powered nailer still works, and it actually drives the nails to their full depth. The nailer arrived in near perfect condition and worked great from the first nail. Not a single misfire while framing a new shed. The only thing that could have been better was if the air tool connector threads had been cleaned a little bit better from the previous connector's sealing compound.
