I've just received my 4th Top Billing topper and wanted to review again. The first two I bought in 2020 and was thrilled. Perfect fit right out of the box, color was exceptional, thick, but not too thick and not too shiny. However when I bought a new Top Billing in Feb of 2021, I could tell the difference right away and sadly the same is true of the one I just got. Two different colors, same problem. The material is thinner, shinier and unwearable without a lot of fussing. It's not as long or as full and because its thinner it flips up on the ends and doesn't look natural. It doesn't hang properly. I have thin hair all over so if I want to wear my hair "down" I need enough thickness on the topper to cover my bio hair. No problem wearing the 2020 Top Billings down, but the new ones I have to clip or pin or wear up because they're too thin. Also the new material is noticeably shinier and I've spent a lot of time washing and dry shampooing to try and get it to look more natural. I'm really disappointed as I've tried a lot of toppers and thought I'd finally found "the one"!Laura
I love the lace front & lightweight quality coverage. On the flip side, the lace front is tricky. I use Milano new topper band. The large size fits perfectly with this piece. I found them on Amazon in large & small. I comb dry hair straight back, use Kenya dry shampoo, which is a little tacky & the band does not slide back, maintaining a nice lace front. I may have bangs trimmed, not sure, yet. But I love this piece. Cap works well for a pony tail ! (Yay) Beautiful part, more like silk look.Michele
I ordered the Raquel Welch Top Billing in color RL10/12 Sunlit Chestnut. The topper was pretty but the color was just too dark (maybe too ashy) for me. I previously ordered the RL12/16 Honey Toast — it was a little too light. I am at a loss on how to order the right Raquel Welch color — the professional recommendation was to order the RL10/12 that I just returned. I love the RW heat defiant fiber, density and texture — it looks like REAL hair. My current "go to" toppers are Jon Renau Top Smart in 12/30BT Rootbeer Float and Jon Renau Top Coverage in 12 Light Golden Brown but I just don't love the shiny synthetic (non HD) fiber. (I've tried several techniques to "de-shine" but I'm still not happy.) I think RW Top Billing could be a winner if I can ever find the right color.Donna V.

When I pulled this out, I wondered what to do with it since it was straight, unlike the picture. I know I can't even trim my bangs but if the shops aren't open you are stuck. So, yes I did that horrible thing of trimming it myself. I was very lucky this time. I trimmed the front fringe a little shorter and then went around the first layer under the front fringe. I guess I really still needed to wreck it so I got out flocked rollers since this is not heat defiant. Getting them in artificial hair was a mess but I put them in the front fringe, then the bottom from my cheeks to back of my ears. I pulled them as tight as I could and let them sit for about a day. It gave it just enough curl to flip back at the sides and at the bottom. I can never keep my hair in a fringe so I do stick it back of my ears and the curl on the end blends with the slight bottom curl. It is one of my favorite toppers now. I am waiting for cooler weather as it has a wefted cap and lots of hair but I will add another one as it gets cold.Rebecca S.
My hair is thinning on top and I decided to give toppers a try. I have ordered two of these toppers in the past year and have been very pleased with them. You can't beat the price. I got the second one on sale so that was even better. I did have to trim both a bit so they blended in with my bio hair. I actually enjoyed doing that. I am new to wigs and toppers and still learning. One thing I've learned is that Gabor is the only brand that offers a color close to my own bio hair. The color is GL38-48 and it matches my bio hair perfectly. I wish other top brands, such as Raquel Welch and Jon Renau, would offer more gray options, especially in the 38, 39, 48 range. Most brands have 38 (too dark for me now) and then skip to 51/56 which is too gray for me, so for now, I'm sticking with Gabor.Debbie I.

So the color of this piece is really nice. Blends well with my natural hair. However, even after having it cut and styled to blend with my bio hair, it doesn’t lay right. There are lumps and you can see where the topper starts even after blending with my hairline. The clips are not comfortable; I have several other toppers by other brands and they don’t pinch like this topper does. There also isn’t a whole lot of hair, especially in the back. It all wants to fall forward toward the face, which means It ends up being pulled back. I probably would not purchase this particular topper again in the future.Andrea Q.
I was pretty disappointed when I opened the box. Product was packaged well BUT…the color was supposed to be 6 fudgesicle, which looks like a rich brown in the many pictures of this piece on the model but in reality is almost black. It comes with a zigzag part in it which no one would ever wear so I immediately had to wet it to re-tame it straight. The clip at the part is also super obvious, I could not get it to lie flush with my scalp no matter what I did, there was a good 3-4mm gap between my head and the hairpiece. I eventually just offset the wig part about an inch from my natural part so my hair hides the clip kind of sort of okay… Wig also lost quite a bit of hair immediately as I combed through it with the provided wide-toothed comb despite claims that no hair should fall out at all. It has a very unnatural look and doesn't lay well with my hair, nor does it give the crown volume I was primarily looking for as coverage is pretty lacking. I've paid considerably less for products of the same caliber, but at least I got what I expected with those purchases. I suppose if you spend hours and hundreds of dollars at the salon you might be able to confidently wear this in public, but for me I just wear it any way except down (which is the main way I intended to wear it). Glad I got it on sale!
This is the first hair topper I've ever purchased. I have mild hair loss all over due to thyroid condition. Overall I've been very happy with it, with the exception of one thing: I wish it had a little bit more hair. It seems that there's a little bit more hair on the sides than in the back. Additionally, because it is synthetic and not real hair, it is a bit too shiny. I tried using dry shampoo and powder to tone it down a little bit. All of that aside, I really am very happy with it and the customer service I received when I had to call twice was great. I've worn it every day since I got it just over two weeks ago. 😉

This topper is gorgeous. I tried so hard to make it work, but it didn't fit my head quite right. I have a petite sized head, and this has too much hair at the crown and looked quite big and poofy on me when pulled over the thinning area near my front hairline. It looked best sitting a little further back on my head, but then it didn't cover the thinning area. I'm totally in love with the color I chose, however, 12FS8 Shaded Praline, and it matched my natural hair quite well. Jon Renau has a great color selection, and I love the soft fibers too. The fibers are definitely too shiny, but a little dry shampoo should tone down the shine. I returned this piece and when I receive my store credit I have decided to apply it towards a full wig, Jon Renau Mila in petite. I always wanted wavy hair anyway!Sara
Love this topper! It’s my first top style in the 18†length. Salted Caramel is my top choice in the Renau line- beautiful light to medium browns, warmed with red undertones and bold, golden highlights. The top style 12†version has always required some thinning to avoid a helmet head effect. This 18†piece is perfect! I set it about 1/2†back from my hairline, so I thin the topper just a little at this area, so there is no bump, where the hairlines meet. Very happy with this topper!Cheryl
I have started experimenting with top pieces after wearing wigs for many years. My main hair loss is at the top of my head and the sides have gotten much thinner as well. I still have a good amount of hair at the back of my head. My biggest challenge is fastening the piece to the front because I don’t want to lose the little hair I have left. I’ve been using a roll-on sticky product and that helps. The many clips that come fastened on the piece hold the rest in place. With all that said, I had the piece trimmed while on my head to cut bangs into it and trimmed some of the length so that it integrates into the sides and back of my natural hair. It looks great and is very comfortable. I think it will be more comfortable that a full wig during the summer months in FL. I’m still experimenting with other top pieces to compare comfort and fit. The description states "Headband" while in actuality it's a scarf. It also has two combs (one in front, one in back) to attach the wig to the hair on your head. I have no hair. I would not have purchased this style had I known the correct specifications. Since I read the reviews about the poor customer service when requesting a refund I found a way to secure the wig to my bald head. That being said, the wig looks great and I love how the braids are finished with twists. The color works with my skin tone. I scarf tie is cumbersome. I thought it a stretched band and not a long loose tie. I love the braids but I don't care for the tie thing. If you were going to design it to tie consider the length.It's not long enough to wrap around and come back to the front. So there is a lot of the tie hanging down in the back. It comes in a small bottle that has holes on the top, I just pour the powder into the cap and use a blush brush and brush it on the bald spots and along my hair line and it instantly looks like I have a full head of hair. I wish it came with some sort of brush but I’m sure every women has a brush they can use, I recommend a blush brush. I can’t rave about this product enough. It makes your bald spots instantly disappear and makes your hair super thick if you apply throughout the rest of your hair. This is a must have for anyone who has thinning hair , bald spots or just wants super thick hair. On a side note my brother suffers from the same problem and it worked amazing on him too. This is my first time using this type of product so I really don’t have anything to compare to but there’s no need to try any other. This works great, matches my hair well, looks natural and is lightweight and doesn’t leave my hair stiff. There’s a variety of shades available to help you match your natural hair color. It’s better to match closer to your root if you normally color your hair. It’s applied by shaking it on thinning areas and then patting to disperse and distribute the fibers. It should be used on completely dry hair. I had a virus with high fever for days and about 6 weeks later, I started losing my hair by the handfuls. I lost about 60% of my hair. I had thinning throughout my entire scalp but it was especially noticeable around my temples/hairline at my forehead. I was frustrated and to the point of almost shaving my head because I was embarrassed. I wore hats and turbans to cover my balding spots. A person in my support group recommended Toppik. I can’t say enough good things! I feel more myself, more confident, and am no longer hiding under a hat or turban. It’s easy to apply, lasts through the day, even when sweating. Aging and prescribed medications have caused my hair to thin out, leaving my scalp way too noticeable for my liking. I have tried several different products, but none were as effective or natural looking as Toppik. Application is so simple that I was able to cover the bare spots in less than a minute. The top of the container has super tiny holes, making it simple to sprinkle as little or as much product needed to camouflage the balding areas. At first I was skeptical that it would come out when I brushed my hair, but my concern was unfounded. No matter how many times I brushed my hair, Toppik remained in place. I even rubbed my head with a white paper towel to see if the light brown color of the fibers would bleed. I am happy to say there was absolutely none of the product on the paper towel. The product remained where I had applied it until I washed my hair. The 0.42 oz container holds enough product that I will be able to reapply multiple times after washing & drying my hair. I really like the feel of the synthetic hair this topper is made from.. It does not have hair that covers the back completely but there is some there and the color blends with my hair color. I thought I would get this trimmed but my husband said one evening that he really liked the way it looked and to leave it just the way it was. So, I have not trimmed or tried curling it. I am thinking f buying a second one and getting it cut and trimmed.so the sides can be a little shorter but I would buy it again just as it is. Anything that works for me is always appreciated. I bought this topper off of the closeout site after returning the Brenna wig. I'm new to "helper hair" and the Brenna was just too much hair for me to feel comfortable in as a newbie. I got this topper in the color 10 Luscious Caramel & it is an almost exact color match for my bio-hair. The topper is very comfortable & I almost forget I have it on. The day it arrived, I put it on before my husband & son arrived home from their day. I watched some YouTube videos on how to put it on correctly. It takes a little practice to get it in properly, but not too much. You have need to be careful taking it out so that you don't pull your bio-hair out with it. My family didn't realize I had it on until I pointed it out. My hair is cut in a bob & is just slightly shorter than the topper. It's always been fine and somewhat thin….getting thinner since menopause. But, I can get it to look pretty full….it just takes a considerable amount of time & effort. Anyway, my family thinks the topper looks very natural. The back is just a little long for me; my bob is stacked in the back. The topper has some longer pieces that kind of flip out…I may wind up trimming that part a little. I also trimmed the bangs slightly to blend in better with my own side-swept bangs. If I had not been buying it off of the closeout site, I would have gotten one of the shaded colors, but overall, I'm very happy with this topper. I have a very expensive topper that was made locally at a hair loss hair salon. It looks quite natural, but the cost was atrocious! I ordered the first of several Essentially You toppers, took it to my hairdresser, and he cut it with a razor to mimic my graduated bob cut. It looks quite natural, and with it cut to my specific hairstyle, I’m quite confident wearing it. It was very shiny and I’ve had to work hard to “dull” it to look more natural. I also found it to be too thick, and followed the advice of Patti’s Pearls on how to thin it out with a thinning shear. Of course thick hair looks beautiful, but when my natural hair is thin, and not a lot of it, I don’t want to suddenly look va va voom with a full thick head of hair. That’s just me – I don’t want to wear the topper every day, and I don’t want it to be obvious when I DO wear it. Time will tell how this holds up. I’m concerned from all the comments about synthetics looking bad within 6 months to a year…I did proceed to buy two more in order to rotate them, hoping they last longer.
There were pieces of hair sticking up at the top of the topper. Looked unfinished and the part area had a bald spot. This topper was defectuve and I am returning it with the hope there are no issues on return. This is my 4th purchase in 45 days so really just wanted to x change it but have to send it back.

Reformer works best for those who want a medium hold with a satin finish. Great for a "messy" textured look. I wouldn't call this a dry look… (Check out the Matterial for a dry textured finish.) This will work best on straight to slightly wavy hair under 2 inches… unless your willing to put in some time to shape your style. Once applied, this is very tacky, so combing through it isn't ideal. As with most paste products, it should be applied to dry hair only (towel dried at the wettest) – or you'll be going through a can every two weeks.
I have been approached by women complimenting me on my hair after using this. My hair looks healthy, just a minimal hint of shine, and great volume even though I have semi-thin hair. I'm fortunate I still have hair. By the way, my hair is long on top and tight on the sides Kind of a like a semi-skin fade. It smells great when the product is in my hair…really great. I've heard from more people that they love the smell. I see what they mean. It has a professional salon-like smell. I've been told that as well. In fact, several friends and family of mine all asked me what I was wearing that smells good, and I told them to smell my hair. They all said, "yep…that smells really clean." I don't want to compare this to other brands but I feel I would be holding back information that could help someone make a definitive decision, so here goes: I have tried Pacino's, Dove, and Clubman mostly including numerous drugstore brands. This seriously replaces all of them. Absolutely no competition…Reformer has the best smell, best hair volumizing properties, amazing shaping ability, and just a hint of shine…I mean the absolute slightest shine, while still appearing matte-like. Lastly, it washes out so easily. Seriously, I feel that you will not regret buying this.. One last thing…I can smell my own hair when wearing the product and I the strength of the smell definitely varies directly with the amount used. So, start light and wear it for a few hours. I have purchased Reformer from legit retailers in the past and has been one of the only products that keeps my hair styled all day long. This product appears to be a cheap knockoff that does not hold you hair for more than 20 minutes. It also smells bad and leaves an oily feel after. BOMB!!!! I've been on the search for an edge gel that can lay my 3C/4A edges down for more than a couple of minutes. This is literally the ONLY edge gel I've ever used where my edges were laid ALL day long without feeling too hard or dry to the point you can tell it will break-off your edges with continued use. I did my usual routine of styling my edges…than I tied a scarf over them while they were drying and waited like 10 minutes before untying the scarf. Of course…when you first use an edge gel it looks good until like an hour later. Not with this product!!! When Ebin says this is a 24 Hour Edge Tamer…they mean it. I used this product in the morning…it's almost 8pm and my edges are still laid. Plus this product doesn't leave any gross white residue…which is so disrespectful, how are you going to have bomb edges with a white cast??? Not possible. Also it dries completely and doesn't leave a tacky film on your hair. I already purchased a back-up of this gel…and it's going to be my holy grail edge control from now on!!!meka.p

(my pro's) Well Constructed Cap (also fits big heads), the length is Mid-Back, No Doll Hair Shine, the highlights aren't as obvious as the pictures, the part is reasonable, and it Looks & Feels Like Real Hair. My only wish is the bangs were longer, but I can work with them. (my only con) They don't last forever. They will give you 3 months of everyday wear, but as with other brands the frizzies are their ultimate demise. However since the price is low I just buy another.
