I had issues with the standard metal (pull up push down) bath plug, so I pulled it out. This is a long hair household, so the drain gets plugged frequently, and it was hard to fish it out around the old plug. The cylinder on the bottom of this flex plug is smaller than the drain itself, but the wide flap generously covers the area around the drain, so it completely plugs the water during baths. This also makes it easy to pull out & remove hair. I don’t have a problem with “how difficult it is to remove the hair”. Just take some scissors, remove the hair, clean the plug, and put it back. It’s easy. You push down and pull up the flap in the centre to drain water. I haven’t had a problem with how quickly the water drains during showers or baths…just clean the hair at the rate you should, and would have to with any other drain plug. It’s been a month, and I haven’t noticed any smells…but I will be curious about how this holds up in a year. I do mustard baths, bath bombs, salts, coffee, etc…no issues with draining or staining.Carly

We periodically were using Drano and Liquid Plumber to open up our drains when they got backed up. Followed with hot water, they worked every time. We decided to give Liquid Fire a try. Read all the instructions on the label carefully and used it in our bathtub and bathroom sink drains. It made zero difference in our bathroom sink drain and we ended up with standing water in the tub! Had to pay over $100 to get a plumber out to open the bathtub drain. Weeks later (after giving their product another try) we had to buy another product to open up the slow drain in the bathroom sink. Also, the label doesn't tell you the product is going to corrode and ruin the metal finish you have around your drain opening permanently. I called the company because my experience has always been, that companies will make things right if you have an issue with their product. Not this one. It took them four days to respond after I called and emailed them. They immediately tried to blame me for not following the instructions on the label – which my husband absolutely did. They had zero concern for our bad experience and the costs we incurred after using their product. I pleaded with them that I would give them time to make things right by compensating us for the costs we incurred before contacting the BBB and giving them a bad review. I went all-in with the tub, shower, and sink shrooms because two long-haired people in my house were clogging all the drains. I never could get the tub one to work with our drain mechanism, and the sink version got clogged with soap scum and hair to the point that I removed it altogether. I did keep the shower shroom in place, but it gets clogged with man lint in all the little holes, as well as my long hair. The only benefit is that the clog happens at the top of the drain and can be easily removed rather than going all the way down and clogging the pipes. When we do a deep clean of the shower and take the drain cover off, the shower shroom is so gross, full of soap scum and slime. I bought this specifically for my fragile drain in the back of my house. For $14.00 I was expecting results. I already had a super cheapy version I was using until it arrived because they are not sold in stores. It fit well inside of the drain so I was excited it would do its job and catch all of the hair. First shower with it, it caused the water to back up because it couldnt drain quick enough through the holes on top. I ignored that because in my mind, it was catching all of the hair better than the junk Id had so it would prevent me from having to pay another plumber to clear the drain. I bought this specifically for my fragile drain in the back of my house. For $14.00 I was expecting results. I already had a super cheapy version I was using until it arrived because they are not sold in stores. It fit well inside of the drain so I was excited it would do its job and catch all of the hair. First shower with it, it caused the water to back up because it couldnt drain quick enough through the holes on top. I ignored that because in my mind, it was catching all of the hair better than the junk Id had so it would prevent me from having to pay another plumber to clear the drain. Finally, we think we have found the BEST hair catcher ever. Brilliant design, how it allows for the water to still flow through at the top while catching the hair below. The shower drain in our 40-year old southern CA retirement home was loud and nearly plugged with accumulated hair. This drain cover was intended to replace an irregular sized, plastic, snap-on drain cover that had broken. It worked, but we had to bend the metal prongs on the underside of the rim in order for it to sit flush. The little basket does collect a LOT of hair and debris…but it almost collects too much (ie; I''m good with letting towel lint go down the drain). Because the little plastic, detachable basket it so efficient at catching debris, it fills up quickly and cannot be emptied out. It has to be thrown out and replaced. Knowing that this basket will have to be changed frequently makes it less ideal. I''d actually prefer to clean the drain out the old fashioned way.

Bought this piece because of the reviews online. They were pretty spot on so far. The curls are very bouncy, pretty, and full. I have only worn her once and received lots of compliments. My only qualm is the amount of hair. I had to do a little thinning before I felt it looked good. But even though there is a lot of hair, the piece is very light weight which has been true to other reviews. I don't use the combs but it has ample head room, big head friendly; and comes with a long comb up front and a smaller one in back along with two adjustable straps, pretty standard these days. I didn't do much fluffing of the curls because one that I cut out, I pulled it loose and separated it. The bouncy curl really pulled out to a loose wave. I won't mind that after a few more wears. The color was spot on to my hair color. I bought a #2. After wearing the half wig, I wish I had gotten the full wig instead. I just think the curls, after they drop or are pulled out, will be nicer on the full wig. It was a great purchase thus far and I do recommend it especially for those that have the creativity to do many styles with a half wig. I actually purchased some #2 braid hair, braided a long section, then used it as a braided head band over the front of the piece. Hopefully I can get some good, long wear out of is but that is TBD. I use a drain cleaner 2-3 a year, usually the red bottle, "D". This brand sounded like a good alternative. It was so easy to use, especially because you just empty one of the chambers into the drain and let it do it's thing. I did not use boiling water to rinse. The only issue that I can think of for anyone is if you live in a mobile home. My sister lives in a double wide and it was too big for her drain. I am purchasing a second one for my other bathroom.
