I had issues with the standard metal (pull up push down) bath plug, so I pulled it out. This is a long hair household, so the drain gets plugged frequently, and it was hard to fish it out around the old plug. The cylinder on the bottom of this flex plug is smaller than the drain itself, but the wide flap generously covers the area around the drain, so it completely plugs the water during baths. This also makes it easy to pull out & remove hair. I don’t have a problem with “how difficult it is to remove the hair”. Just take some scissors, remove the hair, clean the plug, and put it back. It’s easy. You push down and pull up the flap in the centre to drain water. I haven’t had a problem with how quickly the water drains during showers or baths…just clean the hair at the rate you should, and would have to with any other drain plug. It’s been a month, and I haven’t noticed any smells…but I will be curious about how this holds up in a year. It seemed silly to spend over $10 for a strainer for my tub, but the alternative so far has been hand-clearing goopy wads of hair from the $0.99 strainer several times during every shower. Or worse, pulling out long endless ropes of hair and soap scum from the drain after the water stopped flowing through. Usually both activities. The tub shroom keeps water flowing (mostly) and collects hair neatly wrapped arounds its shaft. My hair is 2' long and very thick, so I lose a lot of it when I wash and condition it twice a week. I do still have to clean out the tub shroom after each conditioning treatment or the water stops flowing through, but it is easier and less disgusting than using the regular strainer. Installation was ridiculously easy as I just pulled the old strainer out and slipped this one in. I went all-in with the tub, shower, and sink shrooms because two long-haired people in my house were clogging all the drains. I never could get the tub one to work with our drain mechanism, and the sink version got clogged with soap scum and hair to the point that I removed it altogether. When we do a deep clean of the shower and take the drain cover off, the shower shroom is so gross, full of soap scum and slime. I ignored that because in my mind, it was catching all of the hair better than the junk Id had so it would prevent me from having to pay another plumber to clear the drain. There were maybe 3 hairs on it which told me not only did it NOT prevent hair from going down the drain but its boasted performance and results were clearly not based on real users experience. Bought this piece because of the reviews online. They were pretty spot on so far. The curls are very bouncy, pretty, and full. I have only worn her once and received lots of compliments. My only qualm is the amount of hair. I had to do a little thinning before I felt it looked good. But even though there is a lot of hair, the piece is very light weight which has been true to other reviews. I don't use the combs but it has ample head room, big head friendly; and comes with a long comb up front and a smaller one in back along with two adjustable straps, pretty standard these days. I didn't do much fluffing of the curls because one that I cut out, I pulled it loose and separated it. The bouncy curl really pulled out to a loose wave. I won't mind that after a few more wears. The color was spot on to my hair color. I bought a #2. After wearing the half wig, I wish I had gotten the full wig instead. I just think the curls, after they drop or are pulled out, will be nicer on the full wig. It was a great purchase thus far and I do recommend it especially for those that have the creativity to do many styles with a half wig. This piece seemed very promising but the pieces do not have much security. You will need to add Bobby pins to make it feel somewhat secure. I had issues with the standard metal (pull up push down) bath plug, so I pulled it out. This is a long hair household, so the drain gets plugged frequently, and it was hard to fish it out around the old plug. The cylinder on the bottom of this flex plug is smaller than the drain itself, but the wide flap generously covers the area around the drain, so it completely plugs the water during baths. This also makes it easy to pull out & remove hair. I don’t have a problem with “how difficult it is to remove the hair”. Just take some scissors, remove the hair, clean the plug, and put it back. It’s easy. You push down and pull up the flap in the centre to drain water. I haven’t had a problem with how quickly the water drains during showers or baths…just clean the hair at the rate you should, and would have to with any other drain plug. It’s been a month, and I haven’t noticed any smells…but I will be curious about how this holds up in a year. I do mustard baths, bath bombs, salts, coffee, etc…no issues with draining or staining.Carly

Bought this piece because of the reviews online. They were pretty spot on so far. The curls are very bouncy, pretty, and full. I have only worn her once and received lots of compliments. My only qualm is the amount of hair. I had to do a little thinning before I felt it looked good. But even though there is a lot of hair, the piece is very light weight which has been true to other reviews. I don't use the combs but it has ample head room, big head friendly; and comes with a long comb up front and a smaller one in back along with two adjustable straps, pretty standard these days. I didn't do much fluffing of the curls because one that I cut out, I pulled it loose and separated it. The bouncy curl really pulled out to a loose wave. I won't mind that after a few more wears. The color was spot on to my hair color. I bought a #2. After wearing the half wig, I wish I had gotten the full wig instead. I just think the curls, after they drop or are pulled out, will be nicer on the full wig. It was a great purchase thus far and I do recommend it especially for those that have the creativity to do many styles with a half wig. I actually purchased some #2 braid hair, braided a long section, then used it as a braided head band over the front of the piece. Hopefully I can get some good, long wear out of is but that is TBD. The scratched, discolored chrome drain cover is now history, and the replacement looks great. It matches the other Moen items very well. Brushed nickel upstairs and oil rubbed bronze downstairs. You'll need three things: 1) An $11 drain wrench (https://www.Home Essentials Direct.com/gp/product/B000AO193S). 2) A wrench or heavy duty screwdriver. 3) Small amount of plumber's putty. Insert the wrench and slowly turn to gently break the old one free and slowly unscrew. Scrape off any excess silicone or dried putty. Wrap a bead of putty just under the lip of the new one and THREAD CAREFULLY before tightening. This was a real challenge in one of my two tubs and took patience to get it right. I used to wear this unit regularly back in the day. I reordered for old times' sake, and since I've been wearing short hair a lot lately, but it's just not what I remembered. First of all, it's thin af. I know it's short hair but a little more density would be nice. Secondly, it has a cone shape at the crown! And I know it was the wig, my braids are small and lay flat, plus the other wig from another brand that I ordered fit flawlessly. I'm taking a loss on coins and time here (I live overseas). The order process was easy. The delivery service was quick despite the pandemic and to top it all, I love love love love love my wigs (3)!!! I was blessed to receive the blueberry wig as a gift several years ago and I wear it primarily daily. I'm beginning to wear the edges out with perspiration of course not because of the quality of the wig. So I had to have another on reserve for later.
