I used to wear this unit regularly back in the day. I reordered for old times' sake, and since I've been wearing short hair a lot lately, but it's just not what I remembered. I really liked this kit, I've done two so far, my hair is a light brown/very dark blonde to start. I started with the H65 caramel , and the second time did the H85 champagne. Both gave good results. It does take a long time to pull the hair through the cap, especially if you do every hole, and it really helps to have someone to do the back for you. My husband did my whole head and it took us about 2 hours , and he did it pretty quick. I really like that you know you're getting 35v developer, and not just something random. Also like the leave in toner, seemed to really help take out any hint of brass. I know its not as perfect as getting it done at the salon, but I think its as close as can be, for 10 dollars you really can't beat it.Vicki
This highlighting kit is great for "virgin" hair, but if you already have highlights, I would not recommend it. I had significantly grown out roots, and didn't want to pay the price at a salon, so I attempted to do my own using this kit. The highlights ended up brassy and orange towards my roots, and certain parts of my hair turned yellow. The cap didn't allow my hair to be pulled through enough to get close to the root, and it doesn't allow you to put many near the root line, so I ended up with streaky, chunky blocks of hair–not highlights, at all. You will also definitely need someone to help you pull the hair through when you get to the back of your head. It's darn near impossible to see where to pull the hair through on your own, and I even made sharpie marks on the holes, like someone suggested a few comments back. The plastic tool that it comes with bent after maybe 10 holes, so that was a waste. Toner is supposed to help with yellow and orange brassy hair, and the toner did nothing for my hair. It's awful how expensive highlights are in a salon, but do yourself a favor and take the $11 that this costs and save it towards going to a salon. That's where I ended up anyway, so I wish I had this advice before I shelled out more money.kima124
I have used Loreals Frost design highlighting kits for quite a few years now. Its most definitely my go-to at home kit. I will say that when you choose to highlight/bleach your hair at home with a pull through cap, its a long LONG process especially if you have long hair like I do. Depending on how much of your hair you want lightend, and if you want some in the back/bottom you may need help from a friend (or in my case my fiance is actually always eager to help me, he's gotten used to it is really good at it!) Almost every time I use this kit I always end up having to leave the dye in my hair a bit longer than it suggests in the instructions. Normally if it takes too long I will get out the hair dryer blow hot air on my hair to help speed up the process. One thing that took me a long time to figure out was when I washed the dye out of my hair with the cap still on, it would hurt SO bad to take the cap off because bleach damages your hair and its wet knotted up. So, I take the conditioner included in the kit and let it sit on the highlighted hair as directed, wash out the cap glides right off, pain free! I really like that this kit comes with a toner as well in case your hair ends up too brassy/orange. I have never purchased a drugstore highlighting kit before that includes a toner. I always end up with nice cool colored highlights, and people always ask where I had my highlights done I tell them at home!!! Obviously when it comes to highlighting dyeing your own hair at home you risk it turning out a totally different color then what you wanted. My hair was so smooth and sleek afterwards, and after giving it a quick curl with a 1" barrel, it had some volume to it that stuck around. I can't believe how silky soft and frizz free my hair is after using this, and it really does last the 3 washes! It’s a treatment product when applied to damp hair followed by heat styling, activates and helps to reduce breakage and strengthen hair while providing some heat protection. The product is a thin cream with slip, so as long as I don’t overuse it, I do not feel like my hair has product or a weighed down feeling to it. I’m about 1/2 through the bottle, and while I do think it’s effective to prevent damage. I’m not sure that it’s a miracle product in terms of repair. I do like it though and my hair looks smoother when heat styled if this is in the routine, so I will continue to use it. There are two other varieties to this product I do plan to try. After just ONE use of the "bright red conditioner" my hair was about as red as a Powerade! Oh and the smell! The smell is amazing I could just sit there and sniff the bottle for hours lol! I have mostly (a more natural) red hair but had several highlights/ombre of blonde and those turned out super duper red! Again, after just ONE use! I have very thick curly hair that's hard to keep up with since color can fade so quickly especially with how thick my hair is, but this definitely kept it bright. In the majority where my hair was deeper Auburn/brown red you could still see it show up bright red. If you have to have a more natural color for work make sure you pick the brown or the blonde but this is gorgeous! And a great way for blondes to change their color to whatever they want without having to pay salon prices every single dye! I would say, if you do have thick hair like I do make sure to get the shampoo as well because the conditioner is hard to get onto the roots so make sure to get the set. I did let it sit for around 5 minutes or so like the instructions said and I brushed through it to make sure it got every strand evenly so I'm not sure how it would change by doing it for longer or shorter.
So I'll start off with saying that my hair was REALLY faded due to the fact I haven't dyed it in awhile. When I first opened the bottle, you can really tell the red was an intense color. I was expecting it to have an odd smell like the other color shampoos but it actually smells really good! When I tried it out the first time, the bottle says to leave it in for 2-3 minutes so that's what I did. The color kind of stains your hands, but not as bad as other shampoos. It washes off pretty easy, especially if you use bar soap. It says to repeat for more color but I only tried the one time. It is pretty messy so thankfully I brought a cup in the shower with me to wash down the walls. When I got out, I could definitely tell there was a difference in color! As my hair dried though, I noticed one side of my hair was a brighter red than the other. I finally straightened my hair, you could see the color changed! I think I didn't massage it thoroughly thru out out my hair because one side is definitely bolder than the other. Probably after another wash it will even out. It also looks different in the light than it does in pictures. I would definitely buy this product myself, maybe try a different color too.
I saw this product on my IG feed that is was available at my local grocery store and was curious. I colored my hair purple back in July and recolored it maybe a month later. I tried a few color deposit shampoos from big brands such as ion (which left my hair more neon with a pink undertone) and even tried making my own color deposit by mixing semi permanent color with sulfate free shampoo and conditioner (which it does work). However, when I found this product and tried it, none of the other products stood a chance next to No Fade Fresh! Holy cow I was IMPRESSED! The color is extremely pigmented, the consistency is a bit thin, and the smell is just meh for me but it works! It does dry my hair out but I just put a leave in conditioner afterwards and it’s fine. This product works so well that my daughter wanted to try it out. She had some blue left over in her hair that faded to a green and some blonde highlights and when we added the purple it completely changed her look in a good way! It turned her blue/green into a dark blue/purple and her blonde into a purplish magenta making her hair look like a galaxy! It was so awesome looking! The color even remained in her hair after washing it and not reapplying. To say I’m impressed is an understatement! Because of this product I may continue to stay purple for awhile. It's a great FULL braided wig. There is a little bulkiness toward the front with a few to many braids and it's a little heavy. I think it's more for fill faced and larger head women that can fill it out better. The braids are beautiful and sealed it never sheds. They are like feed-in cornrows box braid thickness if that makes sense. I do recommend buying just beware they are a little thicker.Keisha

I have fine hair that is naturally flat. If I have any body after styling my hair, it goes flat quickly. I don’t like to use hairspray or anything that will make my hair stiff or hard. I have tried other Volumizing and texturising powders and thought it worked well, until I tried this one and it's absolutely trumped the others. The main other powder I had used to become micro dust in the air, so bad that I had to hold my breath to apply and run. This big sexy hair one is less of a sticky resin, more of a soft flour in feel. It's meant to be fragrance free, which was important as my husband is allergic to strong fragrances. It has a very very subtle pineapple scent that is lovely, but doesn't linger so my hubby is happy. The white powder doesn't show up white on my brunette hair, it isn't too sticky feeling and it makes my hair bounce up nice and high after a fresh wash. I have dead straight, silky, fine hair, so it can look super limp after a wash. But now when I use this product at the roots it looks twice as thick and I now I feel like it looks just as nice as when I curl it. I can't praise it enough. I picked this colour probably about 6 to 12 months ago. Wasn't sure about it at first. I have dark brown hair naturally. I usually dye it a chestnut colour. So this is a bit different than what I usually dye my hair with. But people have been complimenting how they love the colour my hair, so I kept it this colour since then, and I absolutely love it. It is my favorite colour for my hair. I really hope they don't discontinue this colour, as this will probably be my lifetime hair colour lol….. This is the first time I have ever dyed my hair, I’ve had naturally red curly hair all my life but wanted to change it up a bit. I’ve always wanted to dye my hair burgundy so I got shade BR2 passion fruit. I will say it is such a pretty color but it isn’t exactly like the picture on the box. I’m sure that’s to be expected especially since I already have natural red hair. The color turned my red hair into a darker color with purple undertones, there’s definitely a noticeable difference which is what I was looking for. The reason for 3 stars is because this hair dye smells absolutely HORRIBLE. The whole time I was applying it to my hair my eyes were watering as well as my nose burning. It felt like I had inhaled a ton of chemicals, even almost 10 hours later It still feels as if I’d inhaled chemicals. I've used this exact bleach for the better part of this year on natural, just off black, straight hair and it's always lifted just fine for me. Yes, it is drying as most bleach is, but my regular conditioning routine deals with that without much issue. It does leave a yellow cast (again, keep in mind my hair is very dark) but my toning products address that just fine to make my hair silver/white blonde. I just make sure to avoid double bleaching my ends, concentrating on regrowth, and I'm more than happy to continue using this as I have been. I'm only taking off one star because I do wish it lifted a TAD bit more in a shorter time but I'll take it over frying my hair with something stronger just for convenience. Good packaging, easy to use, but I did get one box without the nozzle cap. Luckily I had bought two and just saved the cap from one for the other by washing it carefully.Nonie

Originally when I picked the color off the lime crime website it looked more like a tan neutral almost with subtle hints of peach close to nude color, and then when it arrived and the I swatched it – it was so far from what it looked like on the website? Hence why I usually don’t like purchasing make up mostly “lipsticks” online. However, I was extremely surprised how beautiful it was with little to no make up on and just very light mascara and lashes and how beautiful it went with my pale skin it wasn’t too dark and it wasn’t too late it’s the perfect shade for any occasion. I wouldn’t say it’s a nude color, I guess it could be placed in the nude category but I’ve found it had more hues of browns grays purples almost like a very dry it out purple with subtle and when I say subtle I mean very subtle hints of pinks and peaches and just all sorts of colors that I can’t quite point my finger on may be a little bit of a gray but mix those all together and you get this beautiful cashmere color that goes on smooth! I love that it’s a liquid lipstick aka VELVETINE matte (so I know it won’t be coming off on my teeth, clothes, drinks or even when I’m eating greasy foods – THIS HAS STAYED PUT!) I’ll even go as far as saying it lasted one very long passionate date night with my husband 🙊🙈😂 (insert blushing emoji here)  This was actually my second time purchasing this shade, and I would definitely purchase it again and again! Limecrime has great sales from time to time so make sure to look out for that! I think they’ve rebranded their website at showing the exact color on different skin tones and even have multiple lips pictured so you have a better idea how it will look, from when it was just the same pair of lips that was always pictured in every shade! I recommend any of limecrime’s liquid velvetines as they are soft on the lips and go on very smoothly.chantal .v
I would NEVER recommend this dye to anyone. It only gets a star because it smelled nice. I got Sea Witch and it has dyed every surface my hair touches that color if the strand is wet. As soon as any water hits my hair, the color just starts running everywhere. I just put a little gel in my hair so I could braid it and my scalp has turned green again and so are my hands. My hair has been falling out more than usual after using this dye and all my towels, pillow cases, every surface in my bathroom, the sink at work, they are all covered in little hair strands that turn the counter top green. It’s infuriating. I get that washing your hair means color will come out, but I’ve NEVER had any other brand wash out like this or turn every surface it touches that color. I will never be buying it again and I’m probably going to take this color out of my hair soon. I’ve dealt with this for almost 2 weeks and it’s only getting worse. I would not recommend this dye to ANYONE And to put my review up, I have to choose if the product is fair, good, or great and it’s none of those thingsAngie24
I love this brand so much. I’ve used maybe five of their colors, but the jello and chocolate Cherry are my absolute favorite ones. First off, the color penetration is excellent. If anyone out there is looking for tips, try rinsing your hair with cool water every time you wash it. Keeps the color longer and stays vibrant. The smell is a plus!!! And the price isn’t bad considering you’re getting over two more ounces of color compared to Manic Panic. I’ve been doing my hair funky colors for about twenty years now, I’ve tried literally every brand out there. I even put myself through beauty school and experimented with top notch dye, yet I still come back to this brand. I love it! I’ve got jello and cherry in my hair but I’m looking forward to trying Mochi soon, I’m excited about the grey/purple/bluish look it has. My rule of thumb is go darker and enjoy the fading process.
