Installation is strait forward, follow the instructions. To ease the installation, move the r/h shock out of the way to ease placing of the sway bar, and use a bolt fisher on the l/h upper end link bolt. Go back and recheck all torque values after a few days use. Unit works as advertised and controls body roll very well. Installation is easiest if you drop the spare and the right side shock. Access to left side frame strut hanger bolt is easiest from behind the axle and using a fish wire. Roll axle clamps up and back as far as possible for clearance on larger diameter shocks like Rancho RS9000XL's. Follow the instructions and have fun. I installed this a couple of weeks ago but only put it to use yesterday. I bought this to help control the body roll and sway of my Ram 3500 dually truck when I’m hauling my Arctic Fox truck camper. I picked it up from our storage unit to get it ready for a few days in a nearby state park. Just driving it back home from storage, I can tell how much better the truck drives, from minimal roll in turns to handling on the highway in the wind. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.David
First off, I fully agree with what the other previous reviewers have posted. Here are my experiences when installing on my truck with factory air suspension. I have a 2015 RAM 3500 dually with factory auto-level air suspension. Hauling my 4500# wet fully loaded lance 1191 puts me at 95-98% GVWR but 89% of GAWR for each axle. Note that the total weight includes my addition of the Titan XXL 55 gallon diesel tank #7030313 in place of my stock 32 gallon tank (adds 165# of extra diesel fuel). Really needed help with sway as air bags amplified sway due to payload resting on balloons rather than springs. Yes, RAM removed one spring from the upper leaf pack to soften ride, using bags to carry the load difference relative to 3-spring upper pack on non-air bag RAM 3500's. RAM then added a second spring to lower overload spring pack as a backup where stock 3500 uses a single overload spring. Also had problems with front/back porpoising (addressed separately). Hellwig is correct on incompatibility with RAM's factory air suspension, in that RAM routes metal brake lines for auto-level trucks along the rear face of the axle tube, then welds on a U-bracket for line support on both sides of the rear axle face. Went to DOT approved brake line fabricator, got under truck and measured required lengths for rubber brake line replacements. Figured out correct inverted flare fitting thread size and pitch, and how to mount rubber lines such that there's no movement of lines during driving. Fabricated lines complete, I removed factory metal lines and installed rubber lines (wife held down brake pedal as to not drain master cylinder during work). Next I used a pneumatic cutoff tool to cut off brake line U-brackets, then grinding stone on drill motor for smoothing weld points to be same height as axle tube. Spray painted bare metal with good quality all-weather black hammertone paint. Bled brakes, having to do all four, as just doing rears left brakes a bit spongy. RR, LR, RF then LF post bleed, all is great. Loaded truck camper and took a 500 mile trip through some of the most winding roads in ID and MT, going over Lost Trail Pass as well. Before, I had to ensure my curve speed was no greater than posted, may times having to be 5-10 mph under posting to prevent major sway. Also had major sway in crosswinds greater than 10-15 mph. Results are amazing!! Now I can easily go 5-10 mph OVER posted curve speed limits with ZERO sway. Part of the 500 mile trip included crosswinds of 20-30 mph gusting to 40 mph. I could feel winds on side of rig, but ZERO side sway, with winds just nudging rig as if a single unit spring correctly. This sway bar is incredible as now I have eliminated about 90-95% of side sway due to curves and about 90% of sway due to strong crosswinds. On porpoising, RAM uses 1" tall jounce stops on top of their lower overload springs. This leaves an additional 1" of air space above stop to the underside of the main spring pack. Nice for offering smooth ride but bad for truck control when fully loaded. I removed 1" tall jounce stops and replaced them with 1-7/8" tall Energy Suspension #9.9138 jounce stops. Now upper spring pack doesn't quite touch jounce stop that's bolted to top leaf of lower overload spring pack. On the same 500 mile trip, 80-85% of front-to-back porpoising is now gone when having to deal with wavy-surface roads. Ride roughness with unloaded truck is just slightly greater as the lower overload spring pack now picks up the load from the upper main spring pack earlier. The combination of the Hellwig 7298 and Energy Suspension 9.9138 jounce stops now makes my fully loaded RAM truck perform like a truck worthy of being used for truck camping. Lots of work invested with rerouting rear metal brake lines. But now I much more enjoy truck camping as white knuckle driving is gone. Most of the time I even forget the camper is on the truck as my crew cab with 8 ft box doesn't cause the baseball cap bill effect due to the cabover sticking out front where it's seen through the windshield. Good luck to those with factory auto-level air suspension if you choose to undertake this work. Once you start, you're committed in rerouting the brake lines. But the results really are quite amazing, with the air bags supporting the weight and keeping the rig level, sway bar basically eliminating side sway, and double-height jounce stops taming the porpoising. NOTE: I found the Hellwig included end link rods to be about 1-2 inches too short in providing my desired clearance between the sway bar and exhaust pipe. Kevin of Hellwig tech support provided me with replacement end links being 2" longer than the originals (thanks Kevin). Installation now gives me about 1-1/2" to 2" of clearance with the bottom of the end links still being 13" off the ground. Now I'm very glad to have chosen the RAM with factory auto-level air suspension for truck camping. Just too bad RAM doesn't offer a factory sway bar option as many people buying a 3500 are PAUL

Seems very heavy duty. However, even though it is made for my vehicle, 1 bolt is behind the fuel tank on the frame. To get the old bolt off I needed to cut, grind it out. Also the directions say to keep the sway bar level with the ground but the end links are not long enough to allow this.Gina M
