You buy something like this to enhance or for costume wear. In my honest opinion, this is not realistic as real hair and will look like a wig. My biggest negative point would be that if you comb through the tangles (it does tangle easily), a good amount of hair does come off. Maybe because it's new, I do not know. The other minor thing, you can't really shape the wig at all, but I didn't expect it would do this anyway. I like to dress up and mainly bought this because I have natural, very long dark hair and wanted to try "red" without dyeing my hair. I do think this is an all around nice wig and it was a great price..included a wig cap and comb. But it always was a one time purchase for me and I never expected this to be or look like the real thing. This is a cute, lightweight pixie. She's my first experience with a lace front wig, which I find to be a little scratchy but very realistic-looking. The wig has significant permatease, but I can very easily smooth her down somewhat using just my fingers – I imagine I could get her even flatter with a good styling creme. I bought my first at 50% to mostly experiment with professional cutting to a mid-size bob. Then I tried successfully loose curling with steam and rollers. I left it down and used small berets and claw clips to create different looks. All very nice and easy to manage. Wash every other week by turning wig inside out and swish around in synthetic wig soap or mild laundry detergent and cool water to keep curls in tact. Or use hot, tap water (not boiling water) to loosen the curls. You can straighten it using hand steamer and a comb. Curl again using hand steamer and curlers. Watch Youtube videos to learn how. Many possibilities even though this wig isn't heat friendly. I now love regular synthetics more than thick, over-coated, easily tangled heat friendly wigs. The lace part and cap is the best that I've seen with comfy (none bulky ear tabs). Ear tabs are well thought out for realistic. I would love for this to come in average size cap. I do make the petite work for me by using hot water to wash occasionally and drying on a foam head of 21.5" which is petite/avg…. so it stretches a little before applying to my head making it perfect fit.. not tight.Joanna E.
I was looking 2 custom cut since I don’t like many pre-cuts. 10/12 Sunlit Ches (matches description). Gabor’s color ring is accurate and the hair is fine/light and multi-dimensional. The color nearly matched my bio hair! Previously, I lost hope and bought a human hair wig Louis Ferre in Ginger Brown 50% off sale. After seeing many med brown colors, I found ginger nice so kept it because 50% off & make it my experimental piece, with hope! Ened up not liking L.F.’s thick hair. After deciding to keep it to customize, we tried "red out" with med brown neutral color to tone down. No damage done, but no change in color so lesson learned with pre-processed and Remy hair. Simple Flawless’s (All Gabor) lace front and mono tops are great. Fits my avg size head. Not shiny like with Jon Renau's & Raquel Welch's. I planned to cut it from its long glory to 14". But then I realized I don't like wearing "straight" on my shoulders at work. My coat on/off, cleaning/ stocking around the office causes straight hair to appear stiff/clumpy. Still hav 2 learn 2 prevent this. I cut it 2 med length. Make sure your stylist has experience with synthetics). I wore it for a wk after getting the 2nd cut and then decided to try curling it. I watched online videos showing a few folks using a curling iron (yes on synthetic!), steam curling and boil curling. I did boil curling last & it gave the best, long lasting curls. Only two colors work for me in Gabor, 10/14 Walnut and 10/12 Sunlit Chestnut if I want to go a littler darker with very muted highlights. Than again, only the 10/14 Walnut on Radiant Beauty looks good and realistic for this color. When you see a brands color on different styles, you will see that the color will have variations. Everything about Radiant Beauty is good except for the chunks of 1" to 2" returns on the sides. This makes it a challenge to do the half-up/half-down look. Since they don't stick straight out, they are a little easy to train with the direction of the long hair using steam and I've thinned out the short return hairs. Since I've done this, I have to make the hair a little messy by the wefts that will more easily show. I don't wear a wig cap so the 10/14 Walnut hair makes mixes well with my bio hair that might be seen by he visual wefts in sunlight. Still working on how to this the wefts. If you wear this wig in a restaurant where they drop lighting right down to your head, your 2 rows of wefts will may be seen as they may in the sunlight. But just on the sides unless you train the hair (maybe using some hairspray too) to hide them.Joanna E.
This wig is amazing! I am only 6 months into my wig journey and own one other besides Radiant Beauty. I am a naturally curly (tight curls) brunette (probably close to a 6) and I was looking to lighten my color for the summer. Although it could be my screen resolution, the stock photo color of GL8-29SS makes it appear to be a darker auburn. But in person, the color is not as dark as shown. When I opened the box and saw the color, I immediately thought I’d return. But when I put her on and played with her a bit, I changed my mind. THIS COLOR ROCKS! Who would have thought this lighter auburn color would have looked this great? The curl is loose and gorgeous. This was a windy day so I pinned back the front as to not have the hair blowing in my face. It looks so natural and I received so many compliments on both the cut and the color. One of my closest friends could not stop staring at me..she said I looked amazing and she hasn’t seen me look that happy in a long time. I’m definitely ordering in additional colors.Janet D.
Even though no one is really going anywhere right now, I was recently diagnosed with Alopecia Areata which has left the tiny bit of hair I have left very limp and lifeless. In time, it will all fall out and grow back in patchy, so now, wigs just aren't for my post-chemo treatments: they are for life. And I decided it was time for a new one. Given the fact that COVID, cancer, and alopecia have knocked me down a bit, I wanted to purchase a high-quality wig that made me feel beautiful and glamorous. I'm a makeup artist, so my aesthetic (hair, makeup, skin, etc.) keeps me working – and sadly, because of the current situation, no one is in need of my assistance. But when it's safe again – I cannot wait to wear this wig while I work with my clients! I can get up close to them while applying makeup and no one could ever tell this is a wig! The part is natural, it's easy to style, it's very lightweight and bouncy, and the curls hold a good shape. It's not AS full as what is pictured on the model, and the color was a bit lighter than what I saw on my screen. But I'm not disappointed – I embrace that and think it's still gorgeous! With a beautiful dress, or at work (when I can work again), and styled just right – this is a stunner. And it fits very comfortably. This wig is basically what my hair looked like before it all fell out – curly and light blonde – so to be able to feel like myself again is a huge deal. Thank you for providing that to me! I own various Gabor styles and love them all. Really like Gabor's lacefronts as they are so natural and well done. I used to wear timeless beauty a lot but wanted a somewhat shorter similiar style. I purchased this in sunlit chestnut my usually color for Gabor. It's a very pretty classic looking bob. It is indeed shorter then timeless beauty and swingier. Like most wigs with long sideswept bangs it does tend to flop in my face but i will steam and train it and wear a clip. It's a very beautiful style and happy with my purchase.Jennifer G.
Item photo doesn't accurately show the way the hair actually falls. In the photo, the hair falls around the face in a way that allows the models full face to be seen. The wig received falls much more forward and straight down from the part line, so the result is literally half my face being obscured. Nothing I did would persuade the hair to do anything other than fall down over my face. Tried pushing it back a little, running fingers through to sort of reorder the hairs in that direction, and also tried putting it behind my ears, which didn't work out at all given the way the cap fits. Between this problem and the extremely fake looking part line, it was embarrassingly obvious it was a wig and could never be mistaken for anybody's natural hair style. I would never leave my house looking like that, which was kind of the goal. Very sorry I spent that much money on something completely useless.
Soft & Subtle in GL 6-30 was my first foray into beachy waves, and I love her! There's a little bit of permatease at the top, but not much, so she doesn't seem too "wiggy" for me. I wish that the curls were a bit more structured – I wouldn't necessarily wear her for a special occasion – but she's great for an unfussy, casual look. She comes across as very natural, as if I'd just stepped out of the shower and I had wavy hair that just dried that way, so I feel comfortable wearing her for day-to-day activities. I have a 21.75-inch circumference, and the petite-average fits well with just a little extra room at the crown; an average-large would definitely have been too large for me. Overall, I think she's a great everyday style for someone who is seeking a relaxed, informal look and wants to experiment with something wavy at a reasonable price point (especially with discounts).Patricia L.
