I wanted to like this wig so much but it just doesn't work for me. The bangs are so heavy and still hang in my face despite taking to it with a steamer. The overall top layer of the piece is very heavy and looks so wiggy. My biggest complaint with Envy wigs is they have no attention to detail when it comes to hiding seams and the lace is very scratchy. The one thing Envy wigs do have going for them is the fibre is very realistic. So depending on your priorities this may or may not be the right piece for you.
I’ve been wearing Maya for two years during the Spring and Summer. Fall and Winter, I wear Brianna, also by Envy. What I’ve noticed about Maya, is that it’s definitely not as curly as pictured, rather, it’s more of a beach wave only. This is okay with me and it might be for you too; the only thing I can imagine is maybe I’ve not gotten a quality batch? If this is their new trend, I wouldn’t want you to be disappointed with the lack of curl.
This is a pic of me, immediately after opening the box containing my new wig Brooke! This hair is ready to wear! My only concern is that it’s SO long, that I know, a synthetic like this will end up frizzing & snarling at the ends. So, my thought was to have it cut down, so it’s still long, but not THIS long. I’ve been searching for anyone willing to cut a wig for 10 years, & haven’t found anyone in my city that would do so. For now, I’m wearing her as she is. This color is the lighter red, which is the closest I can get to my beloved former color by Raquel Welsh, Glazed Fire. While this red, is not as WOW on me, as the discontinued Glazed Fire, I still think it’s pretty great! The lace cap is a bit larger than my other Envy wig (Brittany), but, I’m finding that both the cap, AND the hair, are oddly superior to the MUCH more expensive Raquel synthetic AND human hair wigs! I’ve come to believe that with Raquel, I was paying for the label, rather than the quality of the hair or the entire wig! I’m now firmly an Envy fan! This is also a great wig to have, (if you’re someone who switches up theirs wig looks a lot), you will not find a wig that’s sexier and as stylish as Brooke! .Liza

I was really looking forward to getting this, my very first topper, but I was very disappointed. The color is much darker than the hair scrunchie I'd gotten from Paula Young in the same color number (18), that matched my hair really well. Unlike what the picture indicates, it is completely flat, I mean totally FLAT against the head and impossible to tease to give it some ""lift"" even using hair spray to lessen its slippery texture. It looks like it's been glued flat to my head! The hair is forward facing which makes it thinner in the back than on the sides and looks odd on the top. The back of the top has a cowlick which lays wrong and looks very unnatural. It just seems like the hair was put on wrong and it either ended or began at that back point (cowlick) that's so ""twisted"". It's terribly shiny, but that's the easiest thing to remedy. The thing I do like about it is that it isn't overly thick, doesen't look so unnatural in that aspect for someone who doesn't have thick hair and doesn't want a thick hair piece that would be obvious to anyone who knows you. Because I got it on sale, I understand it can't be returned or exchanged for another piece, so I'm stuck with it. Even at the sale price of $40, I can't afford to just put it in a drawer and forget it or buy another one, so I'm trying to come up with a way I can use it. maybe under a cap or attached to a wide head band or head scarf, some way I can disguise the odd lay of the hair and still make use of it. Overall, it has good reviews which is why I decided to buy it. It's possible I just got a bad one that slipped through quality control, I don't know, but I wouldn't buy it again and wouldn't feel comfortable in recommending it to anyone else.
I am grateful for my salt & pepper topper. No one ever knows when I am wearing it and I always get complimented on how pretty my hair is. The reason for only 4 stars is the style is opposite the cut of my hair. My hair is short in the back and long in the front, so I have to wear it backwards. Funny, but it’s perfect. There are no salt & pepper toppers to accommodate the short back to long in front styles. Still, this is so pretty and comfortable and natural looking. Makes me feel pretty! I bought 2 other same toppers in the past, but this one is much thinner in the back. It seems to lay flatter than my previous toppers. I wish Paula Young would make more toppers because they are much cooler to wear in the summer because the cap is smaller and not on the whole head like a full wig. The "wiglets" are for smaller areas and never matched as well as a whole topper that hangs all the way down for total coverage. I've just received my 4th Top Billing topper and wanted to review again. The first two I bought in 2020 and was thrilled. Perfect fit right out of the box, color was exceptional, thick, but not too thick and not too shiny. However when I bought a new Top Billing in Feb of 2021, I could tell the difference right away and sadly the same is true of the one I just got. Two different colors, same problem. The material is thinner, shinier and unwearable without a lot of fussing. It's not as long or as full and because its thinner it flips up on the ends and doesn't look natural. It doesn't hang properly. I have thin hair all over so if I want to wear my hair "down" I need enough thickness on the topper to cover my bio hair. No problem wearing the 2020 Top Billings down, but the new ones I have to clip or pin or wear up because they're too thin. Also the new material is noticeably shinier and I've spent a lot of time washing and dry shampooing to try and get it to look more natural. I'm really disappointed as I've tried a lot of toppers and thought I'd finally found "the one"!Laura
I love the lace front & lightweight quality coverage. On the flip side, the lace front is tricky. I use Milano new topper band. The large size fits perfectly with this piece. I found them on Amazon in large & small. I comb dry hair straight back, use Kenya dry shampoo, which is a little tacky & the band does not slide back, maintaining a nice lace front. I ordered the Raquel Welch Top Billing in color RL10/12 Sunlit Chestnut. The topper was pretty but the color was just too dark (maybe too ashy) for me. I previously ordered the RL12/16 Honey Toast — it was a little too light. I am at a loss on how to order the right Raquel Welch color — the professional recommendation was to order the RL10/12 that I just returned. I love the RW heat defiant fiber, density and texture — it looks like REAL hair. My current "go to" toppers are Jon Renau Top Smart in 12/30BT Rootbeer Float and Jon Renau Top Coverage in 12 Light Golden Brown but I just don't love the shiny synthetic (non HD) fiber. (I've tried several techniques to "de-shine" but I'm still not happy.) I think RW Top Billing could be a winner if I can ever find the right color.Donna V.
