Nora is a delightful fluff and go style with waves and almost curls. I got it in color 38, which is light ash brown with grey. It is supposed to be light ash brown with 25 percent grey (it seems a bit more than that;) It would be nice if Paula Young had at least one style featured in this color. The ash brown is very close to my natural color (a bit lighter) but Nora has more grey than I do personally. Nora arrived smelling absolutely wretched; I almost gagged when I opened the box. I had to wash the wig immediately. I used Paula Young shampoo. I thought I detected the (fumigant?) odor even after the wash, but when Nora dried, she no longer smelled. When I first put her on after she'd dried she was not pretty and the curls were mashed against the cap. I shook her vigorously and then took a wide tooth comb and really brought the fibers up off the cap. I wasn't rough, but I was deliberate in going over the entire wig to revive the fibers. I was able to achieve a style very similar to the catalog photo. In my photos, Nora has a more shag-like appearance, but once on she can be fluffed to the rounded silhouette of the catalog photo. Nora fits my 22.25 inch head comfortably and could be adjusted to go even a bit larger, or smaller. I find the fibers dry to the touch and just a bit coarser than my own very fine hair (although Nora's fiber does not look coarse.) Nora is comfortable to wear and an adorable style that goes with dressy as well as casual outfits. If you are prepared to spend a few moments waking Nora up after you first get her home, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at her fluff and go versatility. When this DANCE wig and COLOR ME EXQUISITE wigs arrived, upon removing them from the box they were cute, and the colors were pretty and the best thing they had going for them, However, they didn't look much like the ones the models in the pictures wore. And there is too much perma tease or "fluff" to them. They had really no style to them at all. Especially in the front, just couldn't do much with them. And didn't want to try since being careful with them is a must when trying them on. Very disappointed with these wigs. In my humble opinion they were not great and not keepers. So I am returning them and probably won't buy anymore wigs again. Sorry PY but your wigs need to be lighter weight, lay nicer, (some of us like a bit flatter style) far less perma tease or fluff, easier to wear right out of the box…Thanks anyway…Juanita
I am completely disappointed with my purchase. I ordered two of this wig because I really like the look of the style in the picture. The wigs I received will not comb into the style shown. The top is spiked and will only stand straight up and the bangs stick straight out and will not lay nicely against the forehead. I tried to tame it down with wig spray and hair gel but it won't lay down. The top hair stands straight up and the bangs stick straight out. The wig will not comb into a nice smooth pixie like the picture shows. I would not recommend a person buy this wig unless you want spiked hair that stands straight up at the top of your head and bangs that stick straight out at your forehead. I like this wig however sometimes the cap is too small. The two I bought last month fit perfectly. One of the wigs I bought last year shouldn't have passed the quality control inspector if you have one. The hair separated at the crown. I ordered this style in the color Kahula…It is a light/medium brown with blonde highlights. I had a hard time getting a picture that really captured the shape but it is pretty close to the model. The curls look really natural…like you have naturally curly hair and the style is a fun combination between tame and wild (if that makes sense!) I have probably 20+ wigs and wear them everyday…I got this one because it was totally different from any others I have. I work a very physically demanding job, so I wanted something that was cute but would not tangle or require me to mess with it during my shift. I did wear this out tonight for girls night out with my best friend…I can always count on her to tell me the truth about the basics – does it look natural, is it flattering, and most important, does it look "wiggy"…this one passed with flying colors! I have bought and returned about 8 wigs in my search for the perfect wig. They were all either too much hair, not enough, unnatural looking or didn't fit. i like permatease in a wig – not the big puffy kind but permatease and permalift done right. This wig even though it said it had permalift didnt appear to have any at all – and was quite flat. I described it as "flat as a flounder". I like the style as it appeared in the picture – but it didnt look like that at all. So i returned it.Tracie
In recent years, my hair has thinned and become dry and unmanageable. (I'm 65.) After a lot of thought, I decided to start wearing a wig full-time. I plan to upgrade to human hair at some point, but thought this would be a good place to start. The color is a perfect match to my own, and the style is great for dress up and everyday alike. Those who have complaints should take their wig to their hairdresser for a trim and styling to make it their ""own.' First-time wig users especially need to learn how to manage the style whether the hair is short or long. I have worn Tony of Beverly wigs for eight years and previously ordered them from other websites, with great success and no alterations needed. My mom has ordered her wigs from Paula Young via mail for many years, so I was excited to order my first wig from Paula Young. This style, color, and price (with free shipping) were exactly what I was looking for. The order was accurate and arrived in a timely manner. The color and back of the wig are wonderful. I didn't give this wig a higher rating because it is rather thin and has too much movement on the sides and keeps falling into my eyes when I barely turn my head or there is just a hint of a breeze outside. Because of the way the wig was constructed, it took an experienced hair cutter over an hour to figure out how to trim the bangs (which were way down to the tip of my nose).Diane
My first ever wig purchase was a bust! I was hopeful that I would love them (I bought 2) when they arrived. Very professional packaging. Once I gave the wig a little shake and let everything settle,i prepared to put on. My best friend orders your wigs all the time but hers are all a light brown or blonde and she recommended getting the “rooted” colors. Mine was flame rooted so I was expecting a deeper shade of red. This is a deep brown and black at the roots, which to me looks VERY unnatural. I’ve had auburn hair most of my life but never those kind of roots! I was borderline in sizing and know now that I should have ordered a large because even after adjusting the Velcro it still did not sit well on my head. I actually bought this style so i could curl it myself and its perfect. Exactly what i was looking for. The color is perfect not to light not to dark. The most realistic wig i have to date. Also this is my first Paula Young wig and i will be ordering more in the future. Love the fibers and the fact that its not too shiny. Arrived via USPS in very good condition, with normal time frame for USPS. The wig was easy to put on and take off. There were instructions for all of my purchase. I lost my hair within 6 days due to chemotherapy, so the helpful instructions were appreciated. The wig was similar to the online photo, but less curly, and that was a slight disappointment. Since it had just arrived at my time of need I am very thankful for the purchase. I have ordered 2 more different styles with some additional accessories.
