When I first received the wig I was worried that it would be too thin. But, when I am wearing it, I find that the lower density looks extremely natural and more realistic than the overly thick human hair wigs I have had in the past. The hair is very smooth and you can run your fingers right through it. I had the Kim by Jon Reneau which has extremely sick denier. I have this bravo wig in the color R 11 S. It looks extremely realistic as though my hair had been professionally highlighted. I also find the lace front to be the best I have ever worn. The netting is so fine that I truly can barely see it. This is the first wig I have on where I do not feel the need to cut the lace. Although some may not like the thin density for the shorter length, I find it perfect for every day wear. I was looking for a wig that was short enough to be comfortably worn every day easy to tuck behind the ears, yet long enough to be pulled back out of my face. I returned the Malibu Waves wig because it reeked of a gasoline smell. The smell was so strong and so overwhelming that I had to open the windows to air out the room after I had removed the wig from the box and then go outside on the porch to catch my breath. I don't know if the wig had been washed in a toxic smelling chemical or if the materials used to make the wig just smelled like that. I called the company and the first customer service rep I spoke with told me I would be charged a return fee to send the wig back. I asked why I would be charged a fee to return obviously defective merchandise, and she just kept repeating that I had to pay the return fee. I then asked to speak to a manager, who was very nice and assured me that my full purchase price would be refunded when the wig was returned.Ruth
I absolutely love Malibu Waves! The color, Auburn Sugar rooted is so beautiful. I get compliments all day long. Its soft and so easy to style. Just give it a shake and run your fingers through and you're out the door. The only problem is the shipping time is so slow with Paula Young. I was disappointed with my purchase of Malibu Waves. It did not look like the model pictures with curl showing on top of crown and in bang area. The curl is concentrated on the bottom of wig mostly. Their is too much hair in crown and framing the face and has little wave. I had to modify (thin) the unit quite a lot & is still too much hair to look natural. I’m still working with it but this unit will never be an easy go to out of box style. I will also have to steam the still too heavy front hairline around face to keep from flopping in face continually. This baby needs a lot of work and disappointed i paid too much & have to put so much alterations into it to get it less wiggy looking. I do however love the rooted silver color. In contrast, your Mya with loose beachy waves wig i could wear right out of the box with absolutely no work or alterations. And does not look too full, unnatural or wiggy. This style would be fabulous if you added a lace front version (BUT DON’T REPLACE) the non lace version for those of us that want the price break & comfort of a non lace. I got this wig for several reasons. Color, style, and length were my primary reasons besides the fact that I really like Raquel Welch's wigs. The color I chose was R10 which was a Rich Dark Brown with Coffee Brown highlights all over. It was pretty close to the color chart. It is difficult to pick a color from a computer screen, and clearly easier to see it in person but it was what I expected. It is a snug fit but I believe it is because of the lace front. I have another Raquel wig and the fit is perfect. It does not have a lace front and has that extra stretch in the front. I do have to say I called and spoke to one young lady who was amazingly helpful. She spent quite a bit of time with me. She understood my needs and clearly wanted me to have the look I wanted. I loved this wig's texture, density, movement and style now that I'm liking bangs since it mikes like easier than dealing with hiding hairline with shiny, sparse lace fronts and off colored poly-mono. The density was like my bio hair that is average thin (not bulky). I really wanted to love Nutmeg with warm shading and roots, but I didn't like the many white hairs as highlights. This color could be so much better. I imagined a lighter color of Bronzed Sable 6/28 (without any white/blonde hairs as highlights.) The color was beautiful but it had no texture and I expected that of course. . First I tried it on and I noticed the left side was different than the right side. According to the information in the packaging I can Try again —your can reorder now or wait, etc, and I have reordered now. Replacement: Wig # Two: I am returning the enclosed wig for several reasons. First, it is way too small. This is reorder from the first wig I received which was a great fit and style but was too white. The color of this replacement is perfect, but too small and not nearly as well styled as the first. I talked to a representative today and was instructed to return this one so that it could be replaced with the correct size and with proper styling. Please note that the enclosed return wig shows the correct size (A) but it is much smaller than the first one which was great, but too white. Also, the styling on this one is very centered on a part and has little shape even when shaken and finger styled. The first one (which was the too white one) had great styling right out of the box and no visible part. I had hoped to have a great wig for Thanksgiving but now I just want one that is large enough, properly styled and in the right color. Hope you can help! Wig # Three: still waiting for it!Mary S.
I've purchased this wig for several years now. I've had two different colors. One was a darker brunette and the other was this one R9S+ Glazed Mahogany. I love the color. The only thing I have noticed in ordering this style, one of the wigs in the brunette color, was cut different than the original one. I've noticed this with other styles of Raquel Welch wigs. It would be interesting to see how these wigs are manufactured. Other than that, it's a great wig. I still have my hair but it's thinning so much as I get older. I'll be 70 in April and I refuse to let nature take it's course. I have fun wearing them and my friends can't believe I wear a wig every now and then. Life is too short and I'm tired of wasting any more time in front of the mirror trying to fix hair that just isn't there anymore! I'm by no means bald but realty is closing in! I feel so much better just looking in the mirror and seeing the hair I used to have! Don't ever be ashamed about wearing a wig. Make it fun! You'll be amazed at how many other of your friends will consider buying a wig. You don't have to be bald to wear one! It's a fashion statement!!Jackie
This was one of my favorite wigs. It has changed and I sent back my order. The fibers were too shiny and wispy, flipping up and "different" then the last two I purchased. Also the base neckline was severely short and would easily show a misplaced hair from underneath. Very disappointed and lost too much money back and forth. I don't have money to waste. I thought I knew what I was getting. Sorry but I have been very happy in the past with both my Cinch and my sparkle wigs. I'm wondering if they have done the same to the Cinch wig.
