Alopecia Wigs Covered By Insurance For Sale (2023 Update)

Wigs are a new thing for me as I've come to terms that I have to live with hair loss due to nothing that the doctors I've gone to can find. They say it's menopause–which I started ten years ago. Anyway the length of the hair that I still have is about the same length at the Brie wig. The reviews and the photos of the women wearing the wig were enough for me to order. Girls–you look marvelous! I received this today and straight out of the box I plopped it on my head. Nothing except for a bit of a trim on the bangs was needed. I haven't had time to "play" with my Brie yet and position her just so but I don't think I'll need to. There is a wonderful amount of volume in this wig. It's a tad shiny but I'll fix that with dry shampoo. It really looks great and I'm looking forward to much confidence while wearing. Would I reorder? Yes. Definitely. The price point on this wig is extraordinary. It is well-constructed and just looks really great. It is a light wig and not heavy and fits very comfortably. My mother, 85, jokingly said one day how she needed a wig because her hair was thinning and she was have trouble fixing it herself. She goes to the hairdresser once a week, but that doesn't guarantee a week of good looking hair. I decided to check out wigs. I looked for the style most like hers, Winner, by Raquel Welch, and after a second attempt of matching color, found perfect, light brown with grey. It looks just like her hair after she leaves her hairdresser. She wore it all day the first day and didn't even remember she had it on until my dad remarked that her hair looked good that day. Delivery was fabulous, 7 days to Indonesia and I love the way customs is included. This is my third Winner wig, I find the style comfortable and versatile. My other two wigs are brown but I wanted to try some highlights as I had them when I was younger. I think the routed wigs look more natural so I chose Shaded Cappuccino SS12/22. I hunted all over the web for a review or You Tube video for Winner in that colour but could only find longer styles. In the end I ordered it anyway. When it arrived I hated it, I thought the roots made me look like a skunk, and if I lived in the US I would have sent it back. Anyway I kept digging it out of my wardrobe and eventually began to like it. I think I have had brown hair for so many years I wasn't used to the tones. So it's all good now.Maxine S.

The style in the back and on the sides is just like how it appears in the photo. The color was also a good choice for me. The hair is nice and soft. It's very loose curls so not as tight as the picture but still good. I did a sew down with it so will see how long it last. The only thing I do not like about this wig is that there is very little space to change the parting so you are basically stock with the same part line. Overall it's good hair, the band are tight fitting to the point you honestly don't need to pin it down or do anything and it will stay put. Will buy again in a different color.Abby

This wig came with the hairnet ripped and barely on the wig, which looked like it had just been thrown helter-skelter into the box. The wig had obviously been worn – it was stretched out (and my head is 22 3/8"!), the bangs were bent out of shape, it was frizzy and there was product in it…. This was a final clearance sale wig so I couldn't return it – but I still think that WigStudio1 should not have sold a wig in this condition… I wonder if they'll print this review…Maggie M.

I wish the bangs were swept and light. It was more a layered blunt bang. The hair was very soft and the permatease is minimal. I liked Lasting Impression better even though it had permatease all over since the look mimicked my own hair. The hair in the front was easy to tame and didn't fall in my face either. Can't wait to see Fashion Staple by Gabor next incase I want a longer look that I can custom trim. It looks like a longer version of Lasting Impression with flipped, frizzy (probably dry) ends. I tried Stepping Out since I was getting tired of hair falling out of control in my face… with most long wigs without bangs. But I didn't like the bangs on me, but they might be good for someone else. The cap was very comfortable. Finally found my natural synthetic color in 10/12 after 4+ years of searching RW, LF, Envy, Amore, etc. If you describe you hair color as Medium Brown (without any reddish tones near the root… but you see very slight reddish midway down to the ends due to sun exposure)… You also see goldish mixed in with slight reddish midway down your hair to the ends, try a Gabor style in 10/12. If its too light, then try 8/10. 8/10 is good when I want to go a level darker. Thank you for the customer service along this journey!Janna

This wig is a great wig. I bought it in color 6/33 It was a bit lighter than I expected due to colors so theroughly blended. I was expecting more 6 and less 33. Still a nice color.. Fit is a little large , but average is a bit too small. I think I have felt with the problem bo sewing in clips at the base of the back. . Hair fiber density is nice. I deal with flyaways with a spritz fine mist water. I only use a wide tooth comb and spray it with leave- in conditioner. The part is realistic. The only way this wig could be better is if it had a full mono top and perhaps a lace front. I have this wig in the platinum blood as well. I'm still searching for the perfect dark brown with dark auburn highlights.Kay B.

Wig is not as long as pictured. Top black section was a glaring contrast to the major color. Black hair/ section looks matted. The rest of the wig is pretty.Veronica

ToniAnn is a cute wig that I wore at a recent wedding. I placed the wig just slightly behind my own hairline with blending giving it a more natural appearance. The only problem I had with it was the ""looseness"" thus resorting the use of hair pins to secure (size average). Other than that, I received many compliments. Nice!Tori

I absolutely love this wig! It's actually a combination of the convenience of a wig and the fit of a hair system, since you use adhesive tape in front. I have the same model here, in the same color of #30. The quality of the hair is wonderful, thick and soft, freestyle, no predefined part. I've had my system at least 6 months and it's not even showing any wear yet. I can't believe the prices I was paying before for hair systems! I've been using hair systems and hair clubs for over a decade and this is my best hair find yet! And I do it all myself at home, no need to go to a stylist except for maybe a professional cut-in initially although I've done my own cuts too.Susan S.

Online reviewers seem to be avoiding this wig or making a big deal about how much permatease there is in it, so I was a little nervous about ordering it. But it turned out to look really cute on me, and I appreciate how the fullness on top balances out some of my facial features (and my large glasses), while the shag style also gives me some length in back. The melted marshmallow color looks good, too, although the pale tips aren't as obvious as they would be on a straighter, less layered style like Alva or Kai. The dark root does a good job of camouflaging the permatease at the part. The wig is also remarkably light and breathable. I think the fit is just a little on the petite side of average – I'm just over 21.5 inches in circumference with close-shaved hair, and it fits fine without taking in the adjusters. There seems to be a decent amount of stretch if you're larger than me, so it may work for someone up to 22 inches, or someone with more hair than me. I should note that Storm wasn't a true "shake & go" wig out of the box. The ends in back weren't always as flippy as the photos showed, and some of the bangs stuck straight out in front, even after misting with water. I used a steamer on the bangs to get them to lie where I wanted them and will eventually work on the flipped ends in back. I'd be more annoyed at this if I'd paid a lot more money, but I'm willing to accept a certain amount of work on my part for a basic cap at an affordable price point. All in all, I'm quite happy with my purchase, and I would encourage others who may be curious about this wig to check it out. Just be aware that it might not be perfect right out of the box and may need some work to look its best on you (work that should only be performed *after* you've determined you want to keep the wig).Patricia L.

I love this wig. It has great movement in the hair, very realistic. It is comfortable to wear. I can be a tough fit – need the average circumference but some wigs have too much gaping in the back of my head. This one isn't too bad, fits fairly well. The color is fabulous and I have gotten so many compliments on it. The length is perfect. I prefer myself with bangs and this one just meets all the criteria for me. Not bad for 69 on my way to 70 – wearing it makes me look, and feel, younger. I got it in Moonstone and now it seems that color doesn't exit any longer. I ordered this in creamy toffee rooted after having it in mochachino. Somehow it looked better in the darker color. It's a beautiful wig if you can pin down the sides near the top, reducing the retro looking volume. I think this style is best suited for someone more statuesque. It's cute but it looks dated on me. Possibly just too young of a look at this point. The creamy toffee color though was very nice on this style, a little less gold with more light blonde running through it. This wig is really lightweight yet is full of curls that are lovely! I finger combed through mine to loosen the curls a bit while styling it to surround my face to suit my features. It's so lovely that I ordered 2 and am glad I did!Jacquelyn

It has been a long time since I’ve had long hair. I was afraid of a long wig when I started this journey. I watched someone who made me rethink that. So I thought I’d give Heidi a try. She is beautiful. Light weight. Lace front. Not to curly not to straight. She has a great casual style to her. I love the layers around the face. She is beautiful in an updo. Easy to braid or put up in a claw clip. She is my hair on a good day years ago. She doesn’t tangle as much as I thought she would. I do comb her after I wear her and during the day once or twice if I wear her down. I enjoyed this one so much I ordered 2 more. This one is medium ash brown or #10. I also ordered #8 and # 8/12 A I think it is. Not sure of the color names. If you dreamed of having long hair or having it again, give Heidi a try.Gina

Heidi is very pretty EXCEPT the top of the wig screams WIG! and it sheds quite a bit. I have tried everything to create a more natural looking top of the head, but no success. There's so much permatese and tiny hairs sticking up all over the top, it looks terrible. I'm wearing this wig with a baseball cap or any kind of head covering. But, when I need to be around people, I wear a different wig with a monofilament top. If Heidi had a full monofilament top, it would be perfect. I would recommend spending more money and buying a full monofilament top wig if you're the least bit self conscious. I have 3 Heidi's that will get me through the days when I'm wearing some kind of hat, but I won't be ordering again. I'll stick with fully hand tied and full monitor wigs.Elizabeth

Even did a YouTube video on my channel: Tamara Wigs Out. At first, I did not at all like Heidi. I tried to train the front to go back but was not successful. And then I did the forbidden thing: I used a blow dryer! Yes, I got her to go back and not lay in my face. The color is gorgeous (#56 Silver) but in my video you can't see the color well, but I do talk about how to get the curtain bangs (well, that's what they were for me) to not fall in my face. I want another in a blonde shade, too! So many things you can do with Heidi. Put her back in a bun, throw her up in a clip up top, or whatever you like. She's quite versatile. I can't say enough good things about the Carson wig. I ordered her in Spiced Coconut and the color is fabulous. For once the picture is actually spot on. I do wish she came in a better selection of colors tho, such as a vibrant red or even black with chunky blonde highlights as I would definitely purchase her in those shades. As for comfort, she is very lightweight, so much so that I almost forgot I had her on. And she is not high maintenance either, just shake her a bit and you're ready to go, no styling necessary. So, if you're into the shorter, low maintenance styles, Carson is a keeper and will not disappoint.James

I have purchased 4 of the Carson 24/1 BR in Spiced Coconut in the past 3 years and have always been extremely pleased. People actually stop me in the grocery store & want to know who does my hair and color and they can't believe it is a wig. This was my 5th one. I was highly disappointed at the quality and style of this last one. The color was the same but the style was flat even after shaking it vigorously like I always do. I tried styling it by trying to lift it with a pick but it still was flat. I was very disappointed because I love the Carson wig. I have purchased 4 or more different styles through the past 4 years but I always come back to the Carson. However, this one was a major disappointment.Sandra

I have worn a pixie cut for decades so Leading Lady was quite a departure for me. As soon as I put her on, I felt transformed. Her soft, beautiful waves and gorgeous color (Caramelized Brown Rooted) truly made me feel like a star. Not to mention that my husband's eyes lit up when he saw me for the first time! The Beverly Hills Jaclyn Smith wig is beautiful but she comes with just a few minor issues for me. First, let me just talk about some of the positives. I ordered her in Wildflower Honey. The color Wildflower Honey is very natural looking and I would describe it as a dirty blonde. Beautiful with my skin tone. The hair length on me, goes slightly above my bra strap. So for me, the length is slightly on the medium longish side and definitely great for up-do's! Another positive is that the cap has an amazing lace front. Good lace front wigs are hard to find. It's impeccably done but the downside for me is that the lace is scratchy. A velvet hair grip is necessary. The next thing I noticed is that this unit has a center part. Not really too much monofilament here. It has a tiny bit, only about a half inch or less, so it's kind of hard to move a part around. That was disappointing for me as I don't ever do center parts. I did manage to move it a tad but not without a struggle 😂. Had to turn to my niece who is a hairdresser, for help. The Velcro straps are a plus, but I do have to adjust them frequently. I am more of a petite average head size, so this cap which is average large on me, is a bit stretchy but thankfully adjustable. So this Average cap would work for slightly larger heads. Now for some minor issues. The hair fiber felt good with baby (soft,) denure for about five days. Now I find the ends are pretty dry and starting to frizz even with the use of wig conditioning spray. Another thing I ran into is that the wig hair is a little thin on top in the back which is weird because it is not anywhere else. There is zero perma tease which in this unit, would have been a little bit helpful. But then, I knew that when I purchased her. I realize some ladies don't like the perma tease so this would please them immensely. Sadly, it's tough for me. The hair unit itself is slightly on the heavy side for me and in my opinion, a little bit of lift in the crown area would help. I don't imagine I'll get a whole lot of wear from this unit now that it's so hot outside but come winter, I'll bring it out again. Despite it's issues for me, these may not be issues for anyone else. It's really a pretty wig. The price point is excellent for such a fashion wig and is definitely worth the small investment. I would purchase her again but wear her in winter weather.Aisha

For the last 24 years I was always ordering human hair wigs, thinking they are the best. Boy I was wrong! This is the 1st synthetic wig I've ever had and to my surprise and shock I love it. It's lighter and it looks absolutely natural and brushes and washes easily. I just realized how disgusting it is to wear someone's hair on your head after 24 years of doing that. The style is gorgeous and my coworkers and friends compliment me all the time now. Strangers on the street tell me they love the color. (It has gorgeous highlights). No way back to human hair!!!Kira

I love this wig. I've worn it out a few times now and have received many compliments. The lace front is comfortable and hardly noticeable. People think it is my real hair. The fibers are soft and easy to style. The cap fits my medium sized head perfectly and with having a bald head underneath is actually very comfortable even without a nylon wig cap. I bought and kept one in 8/27 (no root). The style came well done with a permanent lift look in the front that kept the hair out of my face. I suppose one that is familiar with steaming techniques can achieve this with some wigs. I've had some luck in the past. But after one wash with wig shampoo and conditioner, hair returns are seen everywhere as if there is static! So I spend each morning plucking them out since steam (rolling downward) won't tame them… so nothing will. Some I am cutting to 1/4 – 1/2" length but not at the parting areas or else my expensive hand-tied wig will start to look like a classic cap with permatease. Other colors that I viewed and returned, 8/27#4 and 8/12 came very very flat and floppy, linp looking in the front. One was very thin out of all 3 that I've seen. This wig is not consistent with quality control.Joanna
