20 Best Nail Kits (2024 Update)

This kit is really great! You get everything you need to get started doing acrylic. I actually really like the brush that came inside of it too! I find that this kit is really the way to go when trying their products because you really get a bit of everything! I like that they don’t include filler products that you won’t use….everything in the kit is important and will be used! I love the gel top coat too!meagan.h

I love my young nail kit. I started doing my own nails during the pandemic. It is a great product for beginners who are just starting to do nails. Even though the kit provides you with so much. I wish it provided a better acrylic brush. Maybe it me but mine didn’t last long and I had to replace it after a while.diva.e

I have the mini macaron individual nail lamp that actually looks like a macaron and comes with a full size polish in rose gold. I bought this set expecting similar success but I was a bit disappointed. First off the mini polishes are really hard to use. The brush is so short that it makes applying the polish incredibly difficult. I know what they were going for but the design is all wrong. A taller narrow bottle would have been better if they wanted to make minis. The shorter bottle is so frustrating that alone makes me want to return it. Secondly the lamp while aesthetically cute is not practical because you have to cure the thumb separately from the fingers. This feels like a huge design flaw. I want a salon quality gel manicure at home and I don’t see why a lamp this size won’t accommodate my whole hand. The other thing is that the lamp doesn’t seem to cure as well as the single finger lamp. Now to the pros, the colors are beautiful and limited edition. According to their website they can only be acquired through this deluxe set. But again the bottle brush are a pain. The bottom of the lamp is removable for pedicures but is difficult to slide the bottom of tray in and out. Overall it’s pretty but I feel like they leaned too hard into beauty and not enough into function.shakti.g

The thing I hate most about painting my nails is that I never have time to let them dry properly so they always dent and chip. These cure right away in the machine so even if my kids interrupt me for something, I can get up and then come back to doing my nails. I’ve had mine on for 3 days now with very minimal chipping. With normal polish by day 3 it’s halfway gone. Keep the coats thin and do 2 coats, drying in between. Is it the same quality as a salon manicure? No. But I paid the same cost as a salon manicure to be able to do it whenever I want so this is a perfect filler to take away from having to get my nails done every 2-3 weeks. I saw the Rose Gold and Cherry kits on sale once, and my daughter got them for me for Christmas. I followed the directions and BAM! Beautiful long-lasting manicure at last! Since then I've experimented with other one-step brands and had good success, but this one is the best so far. The process is super-easy, smooth application and a 30-second cure, will not chip (on me at least), does not dull out. Additionally, it is easy to remove. A couple of the colors are sheer, but all-in-all, I may just give up regular polish for Le Mini Macaron. My next step is the maxi lamp kit.Lanie

Luckily I am a nerd and do thorough research on everything I'm about to buy.. so I anticipated needed a few other supplies *SUCH AS A CLEAR DIP POWDER* because this set only comes with Natural. Which is fine, I added a pot of Clear to my basket as well. After that I had all the tools and tutorials I needed to finish a natural looking set (with tips and rhinestone nail art) in under an HOUR my first try! Listen, I used to spend my ENTIRE Sunday doing a set of gels for myself, now that I'm in school I literally do not have the time.. and press ons kept popping off no matter how I applied. This set gives you all the instructions, is super comprehensive, and produces beautiful, strong nails in the simpliest, most user friendly way to get beautiful nails. I absolutely adore Kiara Sky Dip products! I’ve been using them for about three years total now, and I love the quality, the results, and all of the different colors available. It’s by far my favorite dip powder out of any other powders out there. I’ve tried quite a few on the market and this one is always my go to. The colors are vibrant and very pigmented, and the quality is outstanding. I bought this kit to teach myself how to do my own nails at home. I thoroughly love anything I can do myself at home. My nails tend to crack easily, gel doesn't always keep them sturdy and going to the salon every 2 weeks to get them done (gel or dip) is not in my budget. So I bought this kit to give my nails some strength while also looking great. Plus I suck at polish. I always get it everywhere when using my non-dominant hand to paint. The included instructions are pretty basic and give you a step by step guide that you need to be successful. It also helps that Kiara Sky has a YouTube channel to show you exactly how to do the dip manicure with the starter kit so with the included instructions and YT video, it's pretty fool proof. My first manicure was good, not great but for my very first attempt, I'd say it went pretty well! There are a few tools you will need that are not included in the kit and that includes a buffer block, nail file, manicure sticks and a fluffy brush to brush off excess powder left on your fingers (I used a clean makeup brush that I no longer use and it worked fine). I also like that the kit includes a brush saver to clean the polishes included and extra brush heads incase you need to replace them (This was nice as I pulled the bristles out of the topcoat head by mistake when wiping it off after using the brush saver). Worth it, I don’t see acrylics lasting much longer in the nail salon industry so this would be a great alternative as apposed to hard gels which is a lot harder to practice. If you’re a beginner nail tech and looking to move up in the world of nail enhancements this is your best bet. No more worrying about powder to liquid ratios and it does dry until you cure it. Ive never tried Polygel before and from watch Nail Career Educations YouTube videos about it I knew I needed to try it. From learning how to do nails on my own from YouTube videos, and having no acrylic or gel experience, I feel like Polygel is the perfect product to play with to perfect the proper nail structure (especially the apex which is especially important since I wear my natural nails very long). Polygel is also amazing since it will never cure unless you put it under a lamp, so you have all the time to get the shape you want so you can save time and effort on filing later. This dipping system is a huge YES! it costs exactly the same amount as one professional dip manicure and if you are patient and willing to learn a new skill you will save yourself hundreds of dollars with this investment. Because I do have a track record of painting outside the lines with regular nail polish, I was nervous that this would prove disastrous in doing my own dip. However, the consistency of the liquid bonders etc. are very thin meaning they were incredible easy to control. My recommendation to anyone looking to start doing DIY dip nails is to also invest in a nail drill, and a cheap nail brush (that won’t loose its hairs) to brush access powders. I also purchased nail caps to help ease the process of removing my dip manicures, (I absolutely detest sticking my fingers in a bowl of acetone. I much prefer clamping the cotton to my nails). Finally, the best pro tip I can give is to not worry about going overboard when your painting the liquid steps onto your nails. Recalling how quickly the women at my salon painted on step 1, I attempted to create the thinnest layer I could on my first attempt of my first couple nails. That method proved to be a fail and the dip spread out unevenly across the nail and I had to start over again. On the rest of my hand I made sure to make sure I made a solid wet layer across the nail, and each time I pulled my perfectly coated finger out of the powder I wanted to scream with joy! While this product may look intimidating, it really is quiet easy. I should mention that you can also mix and Match whatever brands of powder you want to use with this system as well. I've never had my nails done at a salon, so I've never had any exposure to the process of gel, acrylic or dip nails. I've just always used plain ol' nail polish, but I'm very active and finally got fed up with even the "best" quality nail polishes chipping within 2 days of application. Enter: Dipwell. Compared to some other kits and brands I've seen, Dipwell is way more affordable. I can't speak to any quality differences among brands though since this is my first ever experience with dip powders. I had to do 2-3 full applications before I feel like I got a hang of the application techniques, so if you're used to getting dip nails done at the salon, this will likely be easier for you (assuming you pay attention to the process)! Even after the 2nd time and still looking a little sloppy in places, it still looked better than most regular nail polish applications. By my 3rd application, I was able to create cute ombre accent nails, so you can learn pretty quickly. One thing to note is that this can get MESSY (or maybe I'm still bad at this…), especially with all the filing and buffing residue. Clean-up is fairly easy, but as a total noob to acrylic systems of any kind, I didn't expect the amount of mess it can create. The instruction pamphlet is pretty clear, but I also watched lots of tutorial videos to get a more complete picture of the process. The colors are beautiful, but I wish there were better swatches and photos on hands on the website, because some colors are not well-represented by the single swatch on the website. Also, it would be great to see each color on different skin tones! Overall, the learning curve is short, the kit is easy to use, and I love that the powders are affordable. This system is great and if you’re thorough and diligent with the instructions your manicure will look great and last. I bought this when there was not a build your own option, and was disappointed to find that the naturale colors included were not my style. The lighter color is filled with glitter/sparkles which surprised me- I avoided the glitter set because I don’t like glitter- and the darker color is sort of a deep pink. I bought a kit for my friend a couple months after my purchase and discovered the build your own kit which was such a great option and she was very happy. Bummed it wasn’t available when I bought mine. Pros: great kit with good instructions, online videos are a bonus, and cruelty free (which is why I bought this brand) Cons: the pre-selected color kits might disappoint, the nail files are not labeled/ there are no instructions for which nail file is which grit- you just have to guess.Jennice O.

Honestly! These were a bit of a challenge for me to get use to. The curve was different but not bad. I actually enjoyed doing these nails. I painted them with gel polish making them extra durable. I later on was able to trim them down and I currently still have them on a week later. No lifting or anything. These are good quality press on tips.Jemina

Love these!! They aren’t super long so it’s not that big a deal if you want to file them down so they work perfectly. The only issue I had was getting the nails to look more symmetrical when I filed them down to almond shapes. When applying, you have to make sure you put nail glue on both your natural and fake nail to make it last! Nails fell off after 3-5 days for me (I pick at my cuticles way too much, that def factored in). Overall, awesome value for the price and they look beautiful!!Baily Martha

I have always been a nail biter so my nails are not very long. I wanted to have nice nails for a formal event and decided to buy these. They’re much better that I thought they would be. I painted it with regular nail polish and topped it with a gel glitter polish. The gel cure allowed the nails to be a lot stronger which I love. I also painted the nails before gluing it to prevent the mess. My only complaint is that the glue is very strong. Both a pro and a con. It sticks very well but can be messy. Love love love! There are not enough words to express how much I love this too coat! It is a bit on the pricey side, however, it is well worth it! Other top coats have never held up as well as this one. There is no smudging, and they last for several days before chipping (which is the first top coat to ever do that for me). Its just your average top coat. Calling this anywhere close to gel is a joke. I followed up a red gel couture polish with this matching top coat and within a few hours my nails have all ready chipped and worn on the tips. Save your money and get a lower cost alternative, it's going to do just as well. This also drags off the color of your polish with it regardless of how long your polish has been drying. This top coat is pretty good! It was very easy apply, and went on very smooth. I had no issues applying it. It did take 5-10 minutes to fully dry. Within the first couple of days I was noticing that the polish under the top coat started the break apart but the top coat was still doing well. By day 3 I was starting to see some small chips on some of my nails, but one nail I had tried a different kind of gel polish from Essie (the blue/grey nail) and that one didn't have any chips yet. It is day 4 now of wearing the polishes, the blue/grey polish on my left hand (my non dominant hand) has a small chip at the side, but my right is still doing well. It seems like the polish underneath determines how well the top coat does and lasts. Some last, some don't. It's a pretty good top coat though!louise.c

First of all, do NOT buy this for state board. The nail liquid was confiscated due to the lack of foil seal on the bottle as it only had a plastic stopper. Second of all, this is VERY expensive for the quality. I bought 2, one to practice at home and the other for my state exam however again, the nail liquid was not up to standard for the test & didnt know until i got there. Doesn’t matter how exact your ratio is, or how big of a bead, the liquid and powder still create a very thin product. The tacky layer is also a pain to remove compared to other odorless kits. It seems like it created a very thick tacky layer so I was buffing forever. The overall appearance isnt bad but this was a huge waste of money.Sarah G.

I must say that this could have been much better. The pros of this acrylic is that the company provides you with an at home kit to learn to do acrylic nails. The cons of this product is that you are likely to fail and think that you did something wrong. The acrylic dries way too fast leaving the bead you applied dried on the nail like 3D nail art. The new Kiss acrylic kit has a new bubble free formula for $8 that is 10X better than this and this product costs almost $30 I have a video on my YouTube channel using the nail dehydrator and the nail primer. Well if I’m being honest I was excited to try this product. How ever upon using it the acrylic no matter how little liquid you used was beyond watery and did not want to form very easily. Once they dried they were also very soft and almost tacky/sticky feeling. It never fully hardens.Barbara S.

This wonderful manicure/pedicure set was well thought-out to include just about everything you might need. It comes with a cloth zippered case and has form fitting places in the form of a plastic insert which holds the device and all of the accessories neatly. The plastic insert can be removed if you prefer. The case retains its shape if you remove the insert. The inside lid of the case has a mesh pocket where you can keep the power cord and the manual. The case does not have a handle. In the case: Power cord with a micro USB end to charge up the device, Dust shield, 10 attachments, and a User Guide. No plug for the cord. The attachments are: Sapphire cone – to remove dry skin and calluses from feet and manicures the toenails. Coarse Sapphire wheel – Files nails quickly Fine Sapphire wheel – Files nails. Finer than the coarse wheel to file more gently and slowly Felt cone – For buffing and polishing Cylindrical Grinder – Grinds and smooths toenails Pointed Grinder – Removes ingrown toenails. Small for precise use. Round Sapphire Grinder – Removes corns. Use carefully. Needle-shaped Cutter – Precision tool. Used on ingrown nails or parts of dead nails. Fine Sapphire callus file – Removes calluses on the soles and heel of the feet. Crystal callus file – Use on thick, hard skin or large calluses on soles or heel. Charge up your device for about 3 hours before your first use and the charge should last about 2 hours according to the manual. You have to have your device turned off to charge it. It will flash red and green if it isn’t. It will flash with 3 blue lights if everything is OK. When the 3 blue lights are solid, it is charged. The power button on the device has 3 positions. Up, Middle, and Down. Down turns the attachment counter-clockwise and you will see a red light. Up turns the attachment clockwise and you will see a green light. The middle position is off. I thought I would not need to change the device from clockwise to counterclockwise and back again, but I found myself changing it while I was working to make it easier, so I see why this feature was included. The plus and minus buttons on the device control the speed. There are 3 speed settings. The instructions say to always start at the lowest speed and only increase the speed if needed. I never used it any faster. I thought the slowest setting was more than adequate. There is an automatic switch-off after 20 minutes. I like that the device is cordless, because I was holding it at all sorts of different angles to do my pedicure. Nail dust was flying everywhere so I attached the Dust Shield to keep it from flying up in my face. It worked great for that. It doesn’t catch the dust. It just protects it from getting it in your eyes or accidentally breathing it in. There is an LED light. If you use one of the larger attachments, it will block the light from shining where you are working. Also it was too difficult to try to always keep the light on the area I was working. I did use it though. I would stop for a second and shine the light on the spot to better see how it was looking. My First Pedicure with the Beurer: I started out using the coarse sapphire wheel on my toenails. That quickly got them filed down. I switched to the Fine Sapphire wheel to smooth the edge and “fine tune" my nail filing. Next, I used the Sapphire cone to remove my cuticles from my toenails and to decrease some of the slight thickness of the nails on my great toes. Then I switched to the Pointed Grinder to get the cuticles at the corners and to fine tune any cuticles that I had missed, as well as getting the corners of my great toe nails. I followed that up with the Felt cone to buff my toenails. I used both the Fine Sapphire Callus file and the Sapphire Cone on calluses and dry skin on my feet. I really loved the sapphire cone and how it made my rough skin feel baby smooth. I used the Sapphire Cone mostly for that. You do not have to use a lot of pressure for the attachments to work. In fact, very little pressure will be much safer while providing excellent results. Also use the attachments in circular movements, except when shortening the nails. At first, I was trying to keep my feet positioned over a small waste basket, but dust was flying everywhere, so I ended up sitting on a bath mat and letting the dust fall onto the mat, which is easily washable, or can be vacuumed. Before retirement, I was an RN and often took care of diabetics, including their foot nail care. I would have loved to have had this tool. I feel with proper use (not too much pressure and using circular motions) it would be very suitable for them with minimal risk. When I was working, only an RN was allowed to do the nail care on a diabetic’s feet. The reason for this was because of the risk of injury using the sharp cutting tools that were the only things available at the time. I love this product! I had to say goodbye to the nail salon during the past 18 months due to the pandemic, and I was in dire need of a new pedicure set. I used to own an electric nail care set and it was a good one that lasted for several years, but since it was powered by electricity, I always had to be tethered to the electrical outlet which was not always convenient. The product is of a high-quality design and comes with 10 different sapphire and felt attachments that seem to meet all needs for nail care of manicuring or pedicures. It comes with a dust shield that fits neatly over any of the attachments and has an LED light that illuminates during use. The Nail Pro Premium charges easily with a micro-USB cable and needs to be charged for three (3) hours before the first use. It seems to hold that charge quite well and last up to about two (2) hours of use for each three (3) hours of charge. There is a speed control of three (3) speeds, and a control to make the attachments rotate in either direction. The unit is ergonomic and fits well in the hand which makes it easier to control and do detail work. The cordless operation also allows for more movement of use while using the device for either a manicure or a pedicure. I love how it works so well and then neatly packs back into its zip case where it is all contained for the next use. It only weighs 4.69 ounces so it can easily be packed in your travel case for an extended trip. The Nail Pro Premium comes with a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner of the product. I actually have the 16 color + base and top coat kit but it wasn't available for me to select. All in all, this is a nice kit. I probably won't use some of the shades but it had the best option on Amazon for neutral + glitter combinations. The shades I am wearing in this photo are 030 (the pink), 108 (white as a base for ring finger), and 278 (gold glitter). I like that they included the base and top coat; which makes it easy to do a complete look. Warning – the bottles with the actual shades are quite small. Only the base top coat are full size. But that's okay with me since I wanted to test out the formula and sample their shades prior to committing to a full size bottle. Overall, pretty good…for now. We shall see.vicki.n

I love this product. Since getting the nail kit I have saved so much time and money avoiding going to the nail salon. The kit is super easy to use, but with practice you can create such fun designs. I love the colors and the polish lasts for a week or two like any other gel. Easy to remove and apply, I don’t think I will ever go back to regular nail polish again!caroline.a

I purchased the full set from Amazon with a light and tools, decorations and colors along with the glossy and matte top coats. It was around 45 bucks. The colors are great. This was my first set in trying at home gel uv polish. I LOVE IT. Easy to use and have gone back direct to beetles site to buy more colors. This is the worst 🤣 it's trash. I really had high hopes for this. I got it for mother's day. First, it came with a faulty power cord. I had to switch it around with one that I already had for it to turn on. Secondly, It doesn't actually cure the gel polish. I made sure to put it on very thin, But it deposits almost no color. After two coats that was supposed to be purple in brown. The lights are so minimal that You're not sure if it's actually hitting the areas that needs to. I ended up curing for 3 minutes on each layer and it still did nothing. When I went to put the top coat on, The nail polish was still completely liquid. In the end I ended up being able to wash my hands with soap and water and get it all off. Waste of an hour.amberlee.j

With the Covid-19 I haven’t been able to get my nails done. I am one who has gotten their nails done every 2 weeks for the past 4 years so you can imagine how upset I was when the salon closed! I ordered this kit thinking it would be bad quality and cheap products and boy was I WRONG! I love this kit so much it has such cute colors and is so easy to use! It comes with all the tools and instructions needed and that’s a great price for all included! 10/10 recommend!steppy.t

I like the whole concept but the lilac blossom requires more than two applications since it’s very light. I have found a few lumps so for next time I’ll have to make sure that they are 100% clean and smooth. I got one nail a bit chipped the day after getting the mani. I’m still getting used to the whole process and hopefully it’ll get betterPatricia B.

Really love this little set! Its so easy to use. I purchased the top coat about 2 weeks after getting the color and light, and do notice an improved lasting power with the top coat. The light dries each layer of polish well after 1 round and on the last coat I do 2 rounds of the light. Were doing a lot of swimming and im also renovating our house with hand washing and painting everyday and the polish is holding up well through all of that!Liz

I was really wary of this, because so many products out there are just not as good as they make themselves out to be. I am someone who really doesn't enjoy going to the nail salon and paying $60 for gels that sometimes last less than a week. Years ago, I even purchased my own full gel nail set (completely with the type of UV lamp they have at nail salons), and pretty much failed at that (it was really difficult to get it right). So, I usually just give up and where my nails plain and boring. I figured I may as well try this, and I have to say I am so pleased. I did my nails over a week ago and they are still in really good condition. Only a tiny piece has chipped off from one of my nails. And I use my hands a LOT. I immediately went and bought three more colors of this stuff. This product might finally allow me to be someone who keeps their nails nice and painted.Chelsey S.

I thought these were cute, I bought them at Sally beauty around Christmas for a dinner party. I thought they looked nice, they just didn’t last very long. They are on the thinner side. I don’t think I would buy then again.kerri.e
