This is not good spackle-type compound. It is way too dry per what comes out of the tip…then it dries up and is impossible to get any more out of the tube in the proper way. When I cut into the tube, the stuff that came out was runny, watery, and bad. I threw out this awful stuff after only a couple uses, both of which were very difficult to manage via squeezing the tube. I definitely do NOT recommend this product.nvr2amzd

This spackle will not squeeze out at all!!! First of all the foil would not come off so got plyers and still could not peel off so just poked a hole through foil. Then the spackle was way too thick to come out the hole. Yes I kneeded it before hand and tube seems soft enough but seems like the top (where the foil cover is) is maybe dried up, like too hard to squeeze out. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone( not even my enemies) I will by DAP next time. I only put one star cause it was required but I actually I rate it a 0 star.David

I love how there are so many different color options available. The container is a screw cap so it is resealable and you only use what you need and can save the rest for another day. The putty applies very easily with your finger and the surrounding area can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. The putty is smooth and easy to roll into a ball to put into a nail hole without making a mess and getting stuck to fingers. It works exactly as it should and the hole is filled and stays filled even after wiping away excess putty. This wood putty is such a great product, especially for our house that is entirely wood floors with 2 small children running around all day. We often find dings or minor dents in the floor that need to be repaired, and this product makes that really simple. It is color matched to Miniwax wood floor stains, so we picked up some Mahogany wood putty and got to work. You simply put the in the hole, wipe away the excess putty and you’re all done. This stuff is great whether you use it for woodwork, furniture, crafts, etc. I love that they make different shades to match the Minwax stains and you can mix them for a customized color. There’s little to no prep involved, just stain and topcoat your project before applying and make sure it’s clean and dry. Press the putty to the surface and spread it, wipe excess away with a damp cloth. I use a small craft spatula to apply but you could use a scraper, spreader, spatula or anything else to apply it. Great for filling in holes or nails, fixing scratches, etc. I didn’t notice a smell when using it and my daughter has asthma and is super sensitive to smells and she never mentioned it. I really love how easy it was to use. With it going on pink and dries white takes all the guess work out of knowing when it's dry. I have 3 boys in my house so there's always some kind of accident happening. We had a hole in our hallway that had been there for months and we finally fixed it and you can't even tell anything happened. It went on very easily and with only one coat. Our home was built in 1983 so my husband and I are constantly trying to upgrade/remodel and this helped out when remodeling the bathroom. In my bedroom I had a wall of mirrors and some of them had broke so it looked bad with those missing so we took the rest down and of course that wall was now a wall of holes. I was able to use this to fill all the holes without ever knowing there were that many holes in the wall. It has a mild odor but nothing too bad. My only negative that I have about this product is that I had to use a flathead screwdriver to get the lid off and that was still hard. I would definitely recommend this and would continue using this.
I agree with another review, Had to leave a positive after so many negative. I've used it for nail holes, larger empty anchor holes. small patch jobs, and general filler where the towel bar was forced out. Used in kitchen, bathroom, hallway bedroom and living room. Not a problem anywhere. It does get harder to get out as there is less product, that's to be expected. I used my plastic spackle tool to run over the outside of the tube to bring it to the top. Will use again and recommend highly for it's ease of use.
I love using this for small areas, it works just like mud, without the mixing and guessing. I always suggest waiting 30 more minutes after the entire area turns white before you lightly sand, because it’s still damp and will transfer to your sanding block. This is great wood putty. I am using it on plywood that will have a polyurea spray applied over the top. It doesn't seem to shrink like other puttys. And it cleans up with water. It hardens fast, not by drying, but, by chemical reaction, so you can come back and sand sooner. And when it hardens it is as the label says, "Rock Hard". A couple of things you have to be cautious. One, don't make too big of batches. This stuff goes off rather quickly. Two, when you make another batch use fresh water. Do not use your clean up water from the previous batch. The used water will active the fresh batch and will cause it to go off even quicker. I would definitely recommend and purchase it again. This stuff has been around since 1932 so it has withstood the test of time. Great product!!!auctionboy30

I purchased UHU Tac Removable Adhesive Putty, Loctite Fun-Tak Removable Adhesive Putty, and Scotch® Removable Mounting Putty. I have been using these type of adhesives for years for all types of situations from hanging flip chart paper on the wall to securing a object on a flat surface. Of these 3 only the Loctite would I consider using. However it would leave a residue on an unfinished surface. The standard for me still is Plasti-Tak which Staples does not sell.FRED
I used the Loctite Mounting Putty to hang a wooden sign on my textured, bathroom wall. The sign weighs 0.6 lbs it’s 12 x 5 inches long. This handy tube makes it easy to fill nail holes, cracks or imperfections on projects whether new or a repair. It goes on easily, has minimal shrinking and can be smoothed easily with a damp cloth or paper towel. This avoids a lot of hassle and mess with sanding. It dries pretty fast depending on depth and is easy to clean up. I almost always paint or stain and color match and adhesion is great. My floor installer left scratches, dents and nail holes in the woodwork. To repair these, I tried Minwax Color-Matched Wood Filler. The first store I went to, didn’t have the color I needed so I bought two tubes and tried to mix them. I was not successful. The stain I have on my woodwork is Honey Oak. I found Golden Oak at another store. It is real easy to put on. No sanding is needed, just a damp cloth after it sits for a few minutes. Because I have an old stain, it didn’t match very well. It looked ok on small nail holes, but the difference really showed up on dents and scratches. Because I like the ease of this product, I will get the stainable wood filler for the remaining repairs. It will add a step but will match better with my existing wood.Riley
There's quite a few different colors to choose from, which is great because then you can watch your wood easier. I used this Minwax Color Matched Wood Filler to fix some knicks and pin nail holes on my rocking chair. It's old and had to be repaired in a few places. The great thing is if it doesn't match perfectly, you can sand and paint it. Glad to have this is my work shop for small to medium sized projects.TLCJ

I've always used DAP caulks and spackles for home repair jobs so it's a surprise to be so disappointed in one of their products. Fast 'n Final is an awful product. It does shrink. It can't be sanded because it rolls into little rubbery balls. I tried wet wiping the dried surface and it washes almost entirely away. I did the best I could on my old window moldings and now that I'm painting I wished I'd just wiped it all off and started over with regular DAP spackle. My primer paint (Kilz latex) is moistening the dried spackle enough to drag it out of the repaired spots mixed with paint. I've given up and will finish the job as is knowing that the drapes will cover most of the molding. After a few months of long term drying I will sand and re-spackle the lumpy spots and start over from that point.
I tried this product on a couple of small repairs to a bathroom wall, the built in putty knife wasn't the greatest but since the product is so smooth it made up for it. The light consistency of the spackle was a dream to use and dried super quick, I also like that after some practice i did not need to sand my repair another great feature. I was painting in less than 30 minutes which was awesome. On a side note after 15 days and bathroom humidity you can not notice the repaired areas I'm thrilled.
I was skeptical. I'm generally not good at patching sheet rock holes, but this was on sale, so I thought I'd try it. Couldn't look worse than the regular spackling I've tried in the past. Pleasantly surprised!! This spreads like cake icing. No sanding required. Spread it, smooth it, let it dry, paint it, and no more hole!!! Yay!!Alice
