I used this product a couple of times for wigs but I didn't really like the after fact if it . When I used this product against my wigs it made it look synthetic . I've used this product for several years, and like it a lot. The wig shop where I bought my wig recommended it to me, and I purchased my first bottle with the wig. Since then, I've had no reason to switch brands. It seems like a small bottle (8oz), but you only use a small amount in a sink full of water so a bottle lasts a long time. (I probably average 6 months per bottle, but your mileage will vary with the length of your wig, and how often you shampoo it). My wig is synthetic BTW. I like this leave in conditioner it has a water like consistency. It has almost a fruity pineapple scent. It doesnt moisturize my hair but It is also an additional heat protection so it makes my life easier to not constantly try to buy a seperate heat protectant for styling. It doesnt do much hydration at all but it does the job for a tiny extra bit of moisture. If youre someone that has low perosity hair i don’t recommend as it doesnt have much hydration properties at all but maybe for someone who has an oily scalp and want a more lightweight product this may be the one for you. I bought the SheaMoisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner about a month ago. Based on the shampoo I was extremely excited to try this product. Two minutes in I had some misgivings. The shampoo instantly hydrated my hair with its rich creamy lather. However, it was not so with the conditioner. I could feel the difference right away. My hair lost its silky feel from the shampoo and developed snags…always a bad sign. My detangling process became a chore, and NOT a fun one. I’m not sure why the conditioner did not work as fabulously as the shampoo for me. I bought one from Shoppers and the other from Amazon s there may have been a batch issue. Recently I was able to participate in a unique mission for Topbox Circle to test and review Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo and Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner. I purchased both full sized 384 ml bottles at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. After reviewing both products, and submitting my receipt, I will be reimbursed by Topbox Circle for the purchase of these two products. I used this Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo for the past couple of weeks. I tend to shampoo my naturally wavy to curly hair every other day, and condition it less often, or as needed. This Sulfate Free and Colour Safe Shampoo is made with Fig Extract and Boabab Oil to “Hydrate and Replenish Extra Dry, Damaged Hair”. I found this shampoo relatively thick in texture and so it was a bit hard to get out of the bottle. Found myself having to squeeze the bottle, especially when the bottle was less full, to get the product out. The Conditioner comes in a pump bottle. This shampoo richly lathers and rinses off well. I experienced no irritation on my scalp or skin. It felt gentle. The fragrance on the other hand is far too strong for me. I like the smell of figs and honey, but there’s a potent fragrance to this product. The scent is a bit too much. Shea Moisture is not my usual brand for hair products, but I wanted to try something new. This shampoo left my hair perfumed, shiny, clean, and soft. My curls looked defined. I found the oils and/or conditioners in this product a bit too heavy for daily use (every second day use for me) but I would consider using Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner weekly, or as a hair treatment. Transforms hair in the first use. My extensions were feeling really dry despite using olaplex 4&5. One of my fellow hair stylist friends told me to try this. It cleaned my hair well and didn't make my fine hair weighed down or oily. It sucks having fine hair and extentions because you know the struggle if you're like me your real hair can't take the moisture extensions need. This was a perfect balance I was able to comb the conditioner through my hair in the shower with ease. Also for everyone saying this stinks or smells cheap… they must not know high end scents because it smells almost exactly like Le labo Rose 31 which I absolutely adore!!! So bonus!!! My auntie let me use her bottles of this shampoo and conditioner when I was staying over at her house and I immediately had to look it up. I'm obsessed with this line, even though I don't have extensions, it leaves my hair ridiculously soft and light. I have fine, straight hair and have trouble getting any volume, but I'm impressed with how well this conditioner doesn't weigh my hair down. In regards to the smell, I think it is amazing but everyone has their preference. I have received compliments on how good my hair smells when friends or family hugs me. This product is in my everyday haircare routine. It's an all natural ingredient shampoo and doesn't contain sulfates or silicones. This shampoo is also color-safe friendly. The shampoo itself works well for stripping product buildup, cleansing the scalp, and leaving your hair feeling clean. It lathers really well into hair. The only semi catch is that it washes and rinses better with cold water over warm or hot. The smell is amazing, I wish it was a little more potent, but if your pair this shampoo with it's conditioner in crime (as I do) the smell balances out. As should be said this product alone, like I mentioned works well, but it works best with the paired conditioner. But overall this shampoo has definitely made a good impression on my hair I hope it does the same for you:)olivia.s
Great size, scent is ok. ive used it twice now and the quality is not the best. It does cleanse the scalp. But it made my hair very dry and brittle afterwards. Even with the hydrating conditioner. if you have a sensitive scalp i would not recommend this. Very harsh and irritating but, ive noticed that i Dont feel as much of the build up products anymore. I used this product about a year ago. I saw it online and couldn’t resist the deal. 25 ounces of sulfate free, silicone free shampoo for about $8! What a steal! Well, the only thing that was truly stolen was my $8 and I want it back. Lol! This stuff smelled so bad. It was like a strong, sickly sweet, fake coconut smell. I thought maybe it just smelled that putrid in the bottle so I decided to wash give it a try. That smell got even stronger as I washed my hair! It was so gross that I didn’t wait to see what the finished results would look like. I wound up immediately just washing it out. My Mother has been using Paula Young products for years. She has always had very thin hair, and has been wearing Paula Young wings for over 25 years. The wigs are well made and hold up very well. I recently purchased her another one, with more gray, as she is now 86 yrs old. I purchased myself a little topper…delicate touch..real hair. I was very excited to think that I could just pop this on my head in the morning with minimal fixing, but unfortunately not. The product is nice, great color that matches mine. But it’s made so that the majority of the hair falls to back and sides and the hair in the front ….only stays to the front. There is a definite line of demarcation and despite my playing with this, fussing, pulling my own hair through to blend it….it is obvious that it’s a hair piece. I think the design of the product needs to be redesigned. I’m disappointed.Gina
The wig that said it was called “Brooklyn” was WAY too long for me and I couldn’t remember even ordering it, nor would I have if I had known how long it was. I looked it up online and could not even find the wig (name OR number). It said there was no recognition of a wig with that name or number. I didn’t even try it on after seeing the length of it, so I’m sending it back for a refund. I WOULD like to know why you charge $9.95, taken off the refund? A wig sent that wasn’t even listed on Paula Young online! After buying from Paula Young for many years, I’m hesitant to do so in the future.Gail
I cannot yet give a review on this product, but I can give one on the refund process for a returned item. I purchased 3 clip on hair pieces( one is still on backorder) and received the other two. They were the wrong hair color and I didn’t care for one of them. I returned both items(one for exchange and one for refund). The exchange happened in a timely matter as expected, but the refund has been a nightmare. I’ve had to call on 4 different occasions, receiving different answers each time. I am still waiting for a refund, after almost a month, and was just told it will be another 26 days to receive my refund. I like their products, but their refund process along with having customer service agents on the same page needs some definite improvement. Hopefully, I will receive my refund this time. We’ll see. Since then, I've had no reason to switch brands. It seems like a small bottle (8oz), but you only use a small amount in a sink full of water so a bottle lasts a long time. (I probably average 6 months per bottle, but your mileage will vary with the length of your wig, and how often you shampoo it). My wig is synthetic BTW. I love that this comes in a trial/travel size. The shampoo is great smelling and leaves my wigs squeaky clean but soft. This size is great for using on the go or if you just want to give this line a try. The Jon Renau is hands down my favorite product line and the only thing I use anymore.Norma
The Jon Renau Shampoo is fantastic. I have used it for years now. The shampoo is gentle and compatible with any brand of synthetic wig. It has a fresh, yet not overpowering fragrance, and returns the wig to its natural softness. Just remember to rinse thoroughly so you don't leave a residue. One suggestion, perhaps apply the JR Conditioning spray, combined with the Luster Spray, to restore the original "newness" to your wig. However if you don't use the other two products mentioned, you will still be very pleased with the shampoo.Sandy T
