I ordered the Wheat color and it is beautiful. Almost an exact match to my natural color. I would have given it five stars except for one thing! The sides and back of the wig are not as long as pictured. This makes the wig look top heavy! I am new to wigs so will have to play with it a little longer. I first decided to purchase a wig when a hair cut gone wrong left me looking like Opie Taylor. I definitely did not want what the look the ladies in my mother's "retirement" community had! I wanted to have hair that I had in high school, many many eons ago, the thick healthy hair. Wigs are a new thing for me as I've come to terms that I have to live with hair loss due to nothing that the doctors I've gone to can find. They say it's menopause–which I started ten years ago. Anyway the length of the hair that I still have is about the same length at the Brie wig. The reviews and the photos of the women wearing the wig were enough for me to order. Girls–you look marvelous! I received this today and straight out of the box I plopped it on my head. Nothing except for a bit of a trim on the bangs was needed. I haven't had time to "play" with my Brie yet and position her just so but I don't think I'll need to. There is a wonderful amount of volume in this wig. It's a tad shiny but I'll fix that with dry shampoo. It really looks great and I'm looking forward to much confidence while wearing. Would I reorder? Yes. Definitely. This is a lovely wig. I love that it's thinner and hand tied. I'm not a fan of the ear to ear lace. It tends to stick up around the ear tabs and you can see it. I've tried glue but it just cakes up on the lace and doesn't work anyway. I wish I had gotten the regular julianne with velvet ear tabs. I am so glad I tried the light version in the julianne before paying a ridiculous amount of money for the carrie light and realizing the lace ear tabs are terrible. If you have hair thinning or loss anywhere in the front, this will not work for you as you'll be pulling on those vulnerable hairs if you have any, yet it won't be enough to hold the piece in place safely, nor can you use adhesive on thinning hairs. Obviously the 3 front clips won't be of use if you have no hair in front; aybe you could remove all the clips and use adhesive instead if you have no hair. For me, with thinning hair, this was unworkable. I was excited about this item, but was left disappointed. Trying to be fair to the store, I kept the items (I bought two) rather than ask for another return. I shouldn't have kept them.Gerri
I have bought several regular January's in the past, and have always thought they had too much permatease, but would repurchase it because it is closest to the style and color I am looking for. This was my first January Hand Tied. I am pleased to say that it is exactly what I was hoping for. The best part is that there is NO permatease, which had always made it too hot to wear in the summer, and now I don't have to worry about wefts showing since there are none. The lace front on mine is fantastic in the color 14/25 – the highlighting and knotting is the best it's ever been. It is much less tiger-striped looking than it had been about 5 years ago. The hand tied January also has less density than regular January, so I only thinned it slightly in spots compared to my major thinning of regular January. Both versions of January tend to be less shiny than the straight versions of synthetics, which is a plus for me. The Jon Renau regular synthetic fibers last longer than the other brands I have tried as well.Brahm

I was really excited to receive CAT by Ellen Wille as I adored the pictures and also because I LOVE my Ellen Wille MOVIE wig I. The same color (Tobacco Mix). Both of these wigs look beautiful in the product pictures and videos. However, comparatively, CAT was much darker than MOVIE, even though they were the same color. MOVIE fit me like the product pictures but CAT did not. CAT was longer & much bulkier on sides & back than seen in the product pictures. The top & sides being so was bulky & the curls a bit hard to tame but yet the bangs quite sparse lacking volume and shape. I chose EW specifically for the smaller size and because they are known for more realistic density but I did not find that true of CAT. Overall, I love. EW and I recognize not all wigs will be a perfect match for everyone. I do sincerely wish that EW would provide better color choices for each wig and also more consistent color choices between wigs. I've returned CAT and would like to exchange for another EW that I can realistically alternate with my MOVIE wig in Tobacco Mix…but I'm having a terrible time due to lack of colors (lack of tobacco mix or similar shades) in styles that I could alter ate with MOVIE (maybe a shaggy bob?). Overall, EW lacks color choices and is very lacking in auburn shades which disappoints me so much. Have worn now for sometime, not sure how many ordered to date. It wears about 1 month or a little over before I have the desire to change. I haven’t had the greatest success when washing; maybe not doing it correctly. While it does look the same after washing, the feel is no longer the same; it appears to dry out and does not flow or feel soft like it previously did. In the past I would always buy human hair wigs only, and low and behold the experience of washing and wearing again was the same. The product itself is beautiful. Very well done with the exception of the extremely long nape and the thick silicone padding. You better hope the silicone works, because with it you have no other options to make your wig stay down. Neither tape nor glue will stick to that silicone. The only option is to wear a wig band and if you do that, you will have to pull the already too long nape even further down the back of you neck. I'm also disappointed in the extremely limited amount of tips and info on cutting and caring for men's wigs. I suppose this is because the idea of men wearing wigs is still a new phenomonon, but if a site sells them, the site should strive to do better to help the customer get info on styling, cutting, etc. I have bought two of these units, and I plan to continue to buy because through much trial and error I have finally figured out how to make it work for me. This process required me to basically ruin the first wig which was expensive, but at least I figured everything out with it so I'll know just what to do with subsequent wigs. I would give this product 5 stars if the manufacturer would shorten the nape in the back, and do something else other than the thick silicone padding.Thank you.

After a hysterectomy & menopause that followed resulting in 1/4 of my hair gradually thinning and trying every supplement including PRP treatments I realized preserving the hair I had was the focus, since after 5yrs and thousands of dollars later, the hair that had thinned was not going to grow back. I work in the medical field, at an Oncology / Bone Marrow Transplant Center so the topic of wigs is something I'm very familiar with. Many of the patients I work with rave about Jon Ranau wigs so I figured I'd give that brand a try. I've purchased a couple so far to ensure I have a new backup always on hand and plan to venture into other styles & colors but so far I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the cap/top & synthetic hair, style & color and it's so easy to maintain!
The wig was already thinning in the front when I got it and I can't hide this with bio hair because the lace is too long (can't cut the lace because it is the only thing gripping the front, there are no clips). I don't recommend this piece for people with small/low foreheads, maybe if you are completely bald with no bio hair it might work for you but not if you have pale skin because the knots are very dark and the lace is tan. I tried to straighten the hair on low heat and it made a melting smell, I question if all the hair is real. The cap is also extremely itchy and the lace is not soft (because the lace grips) so it is uncomfortable when it sits on my forehead. I would need to sew in clips and then seal off the lace so it doesn't unravel when trimmed, but for $2000 I would expect this to be of better quality. I own many wigs and hair toppers, I am always disappointed in Jon Renau but I took a risk because I liked the color. The Jon Renau brand is not carried much anymore because their pieces are just not worth the price. I am just going to have to stick with Uniwigs because at least I know what to expect and they are keeping up with the trends for comfort and affordability.LS
The hair piece is nicely made and the color was spot-on. I really, really wanted to like this wig. My overall problem was the style… and was in a few of the reviews I had read prior. The front part was over bearing and so much so that it wouldn't stay out of my face…. almost like there was too much hair. While I didn't try to style the piece or trim to see if that would make a difference (didn't want to do anything in case I returned, which I did), so it's possible I could have made it work. But I just couldn't get past the front portion of the wig and all the volume; I couldn't figure out what to do with it! I am not new to hair pieces, wigs and extension pony-tails so I am aware that some effort is-or-might be necessary, etc., but it simply just looked fake on me. I only deducted 1 Star because it might have been fixable but $300.++ I didn't want to take that chance so I returned. But overall, the wig is pretty and the cap is comfy. Good luck!Susie

Erica by Envy with the Envy hair (HH/HD fiber mix) in light blonde is fantastic. The fibers barely tangle and the color is a beautiful mix of a light neutral blonde and a very pale ash blonde hi-lite. It has silicone grip on the sides and back for extra grip and added comfort and this makes this one MRI compliant because there are no ear tan metal stays or metal nape stays either! After a hysterectomy & menopause that followed resulting in 1/4 of my hair gradually thinning and trying every supplement including PRP treatments I realized preserving the hair I had was the focus, since after 5yrs and thousands of dollars later, the hair that had thinned was not going to grow back. I work in the medical field, at an Oncology / Bone Marrow Transplant Center so the topic of wigs is something I'm very familiar with. Many of the patients I work with rave about Jon Ranau wigs so I figured I'd give that brand a try. I've purchased a couple so far to ensure I have a new backup always on hand and plan to venture into other styles & colors but so far I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the cap/top & synthetic hair, style & color and it's so easy to maintain!
The wig was already thinning in the front when I got it and I can't hide this with bio hair because the lace is too long (can't cut the lace because it is the only thing gripping the front, there are no clips). I don't recommend this piece for people with small/low foreheads, maybe if you are completely bald with no bio hair it might work for you but not if you have pale skin because the knots are very dark and the lace is tan. I tried to straighten the hair on low heat and it made a melting smell, I question if all the hair is real. The cap is also extremely itchy and the lace is not soft (because the lace grips) so it is uncomfortable when it sits on my forehead. Thank you so much for a truly amazing product. I have ordered before from different companies and every single time I open the box and my heart sinks. I honestly feel they got the orders mixed up. The other companies say that the lighting makes the color look different, but the whole wig was not what I ordered. Your product is perfect. It looks exactly like what I ordered, color, style everything is perfect. It took me 2 days to build up the courage to open the box and look. I like this wig however sometimes the cap is too small. The two I bought last month fit perfectly. One of the wigs I bought last year shouldn't have passed the quality control inspector if you have one. The hair separated at the crown. I have brushed and teased but it never did perform as expected.JANET M.
I ordered this style in the color Kahula…It is a light/medium brown with blonde highlights. I had a hard time getting a picture that really captured the shape but it is pretty close to the model. The curls look really natural…like you have naturally curly hair and the style is a fun combination between tame and wild (if that makes sense!) I have probably 20+ wigs and wear them everyday…I got this one because it was totally different from any others I have. I work a very physically demanding job, so I wanted something that was cute but would not tangle or require me to mess with it during my shift. I did wear this out tonight for girls night out with my best friend…I can always count on her to tell me the truth about the basics – does it look natural, is it flattering, and most important, does it look "wiggy"…this one passed with flying colors! The other thing I like was the price…I typically only buy mono-top wigs because they look so natural, but with the curls, it isn't noticeable at all and it keeps the price down. I can definitely see myself buying this in another color!
