I have ordered several wigs from Paula Young & have been totally satisfied! The customer service is excellent. The prices are very reasonable! I have to admit, The Sheer Drama wig that I received a couple weeks ago or less, was my first disappointment. The cap is so sheer, that you can see dark hand tied knots a lot through the top. The wig color is Platinum 101. The dark knots actually made me squeamish! They looked like it had lice throughout it!! Being an RN, I had to really look closer & touch the lice-looking knots, & confirmed they were NOT Lice. It was advertised as whisper light- yep it’s so light you see through the cap!Bobbi
This would be a good wig for someone who is not new to wearing wigs. Straight out of the box the wig had a strong plastic like smell. After washing the smell was much less, but still there. Hoping this will fade with time. I have a large head but took a chance and ordered this anyway (average size). It fits very comfortably. The description says ""100% hand tied"". It is not. The top half is hand tied, the bottom half is sewn wefts. The hair is thick enough to be styled in a messy updo. The hand tied knots,on the top, are not bleached. If you order a medium to dark color it shouldn't be a big problem. If you are a light color you will need to camouflage them. This is not a lace front. There is a fabric band across the hairline that will make styling challenging. This would be a very comfortable wig if you had little to no hair. If you are willing to spend time working with your wig this could be a good choice for you.Raven
This is my first wig. I did my research, and chose Sheer Drama. I lov the waves and style My hair is long but falling out. I live in South Florida so my hair does not keep any curl in the humidity . Ok I thought perfect, I’ll have a full head of wavy hair and the color is a perfect match. Sadly I have a small head and cannot keep the wig on no matter what I do. I bought a grip but no help. Nora is a delightful fluff and go style with waves and almost curls. I got it in color 38, which is light ash brown with grey. It is supposed to be light ash brown with 25 percent grey (it seems a bit more than that;) It would be nice if Paula Young had at least one style featured in this color. The ash brown is very close to my natural color (a bit lighter) but Nora has more grey than I do personally. Nora arrived smelling absolutely wretched; I almost gagged when I opened the box. I had to wash the wig immediately. I used Paula Young shampoo. I thought I detected the (fumigant?) odor even after the wash, but when Nora dried, she no longer smelled. When I first put her on after she'd dried she was not pretty and the curls were mashed against the cap. I shook her vigorously and then took a wide tooth comb and really brought the fibers up off the cap. I wasn't rough, but I was deliberate in going over the entire wig to revive the fibers. I was able to achieve a style very similar to the catalog photo. In my photos, Nora has a more shag-like appearance, but once on she can be fluffed to the rounded silhouette of the catalog photo. Nora fits my 22.25 inch head comfortably and could be adjusted to go even a bit larger, or smaller. I find the fibers dry to the touch and just a bit coarser than my own very fine hair (although Nora's fiber does not look coarse.) Nora is comfortable to wear and an adorable style that goes with dressy as well as casual outfits. If you are prepared to spend a few moments waking Nora up after you first get her home, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at her fluff and go versatility. When this DANCE wig and COLOR ME EXQUISITE wigs arrived, upon removing them from the box they were cute, and the colors were pretty and the best thing they had going for them, However, they didn't look much like the ones the models in the pictures wore. And there is too much perma tease or "fluff" to them. They had really no style to them at all. Especially in the front, just couldn't do much with them. And didn't want to try since being careful with them is a must when trying them on. Very disappointed with these wigs. In my humble opinion they were not great and not keepers. So I am returning them and probably won't buy anymore wigs again. Sorry PY but your wigs need to be lighter weight, lay nicer, (some of us like a bit flatter style) far less perma tease or fluff, easier to wear right out of the box…Thanks anyway…Juanita

The top is spiked and will only stand straight up and the bangs stick straight out and will not lay nicely against the forehead. I tried to tame it down with wig spray and hair gel but it won't lay down. The top hair stands straight up and the bangs stick straight out. The wig will not comb into a nice smooth pixie like the picture shows. I would not recommend a person buy this wig unless you want spiked hair that stands straight up at the top of your head and bangs that stick straight out at your forehead. I have 3 Geneva style wigs and love them. I ordered 2 more, it the new ones are much shorter in length than my 3 older ones. Very disappointing that they are not consistent in the styling & length. Geneva rooted is by far my favorite, but the ones I just received are very pixie ish. Even my husband commented on the shortness. I did send one back &kept the other. I don’t know if I will even wear this new one. Not good quality control. Too bad, I have praised their products to friends & family,but now w/a warning.Judy
For the fifth ( or sixth) time in the last 18 months, the wig has been of poor quality….thin, flat, choppy looking. Not like pictured, not like previous purchases. I’ve worn PY wigs for 10 years and have come to expect natural looking hair. I wear them out of necessity, so receiving these last ones has not only been disappointing, but necessitates buying new ones. I have donated several to the cancer center. They have hairdressers who can work with the wigs to make them useable for patients in need. Skills I don’t have. I can’t afford to keep donating and buying anew 😔Carolyn
The wig is lovely in the picture on the website, a little different than what came. I am sure it is the same wig, but the styling was somewhat different. I wasn't thrilled with how it looked on me. On someone else it will be pretty. The quality of the workmanship was good, and it fit really well. But no matter how you try to picture yourself with a certain hairstyle you just can't until you try it on and look in the mirror. I do wish that the website had software for virtual try on where you could upload your picture and try on the wigs before you order. I am sending this one back, just not for me.Cathy

I now own three Flirt Alert wigs, this is my absolute favorite for several reasons. I wear my wigs every day, all day. I need a wig that holds up well to daily use. I find the tangling and matting of the longer wigs to be unbearable! Well let me tell you…flirt alert holds up well!! I have been wearing wigs since breast cancer caused my already thinning hair to fall out. Due to POS and a hormone blocker I will take for a few more years, my hair had no chance at coming back to anything resembling a full head. Ordered in a lighter color (RL 14/22, Pale Golden Wheat) as my own hair is mostly white and a golden blonde. The wig came and it immediately seemed to brighten my face and is a very youthful style, not that at 64 yrs. I want to look like a kid, but every little bit helps. Just received my Big Deal in Shaded Biscuit. She was out of stock for a while, so I jumped on this order when she became available again, and I'm so glad I did! The fibers are silky soft with los of swingy, natural movement. She's comfortable and can go from daytime to evening easily. I am completely disappointed with my purchase. I ordered two of this wig because I really like the look of the style in the picture. The wigs I received will not comb into the style shown. The top is spiked and will only stand straight up and the bangs stick straight out and will not lay nicely against the forehead. I tried to tame it down with wig spray and hair gel but it won't lay down. The top hair stands straight up and the bangs stick straight out. The wig will not comb into a nice smooth pixie like the picture shows. I would not recommend a person buy this wig unless you want spiked hair that stands straight up at the top of your head and bangs that stick straight out at your forehead. If I wasn’t experienced in wearing wigs, this would have been a really frustrating and disappointing purchase. As soon as I took the hair out of the box, the ends seemed really tough and frizzy, to the point where the comb gets stuck. Because the quality is so poor, I ensure extremely gentle combing but somehow one of the tracks has already broken within the first 1-2 weeks. The **** are that once you tint the lace/add makeup and cut your baby hairs, the hairline blends really week and looks realistic. If you’re more of an expert at tailoring your own wigs then this isn’t too bad, but you won’t be able to wear it for too long because of the quality. If it was cheaper like the original price in the US then I don’t think I would have minded as much.Danielle C.
I am obsessed with this wig! This was my 3rd time ordering, but my first time getting a wig installed for daily wear. When I tell you!!!! It doesn’t feel heavy on my head. It’s a tad tight, BUT I think that’s because I’m not use to wearing one daily, not because of the make of the unit. The color is EXACTLY what I expected and is a perfect summer blend I love that it is a side part too because I love doing a clipped back look behind my ear (will make it easier to wear my walkie at work) I thought it was gonna be too long but I actually love the length! After I received my order it was apparent that the color was just not a good one for me. I had ordered two wigs, both the same color and found that in person they were just very fake and not a natural look at all. I sent them back and then after reading the instruction found that over half the amount I paid for them was to be deducted due to the various charges they put on returns. A few months ago, I ordered the "Alex" wig. I love it! I ordered a second one so that I would always have it ready. While the first one was – and stil is – perfect, the second one is straggly and sloppy looking. When I first took it out of the box and followed directions (shaking, etc,) it looked ok. I put it aside til I could get a styrofoam head. Once I put it on that, it showed itself. I cannot wear it. I have not worn it. Unfortunately, I did take the tag off when I thought it was going to be ok. Please take it back and send me one that looks like the first one.Rosemary
I received the wig in a couple of weeks of ordering..I tried it on but it kept slipping off my head. The velcro tapes were set to the tightest setting. I took the wig to my hairdresser thinking it should be cut as the style was so weird.. She told me to wash it first in fairly hot water so some of the crushing from shipping would come out.. Seriously after wearing it for 30 seconds it looked like I was a cone head!! The inside just above the bangs there is a circle of heavy knit capping.. Not the stretch lace like the rest of the wig liner is made from…This is advertised as a whisper lite wig?…My head dripped with sweat in a few minutes as it just does not breathe the same as my other wigs? My hairdresser suggested it not be cut but to somehow get it made smaller. I have Alopecia so have bought and worn wigs for some years. I have always had wigs come with a stretchy lace type liner with metal adjustable clips on the elastic straps. I live in Canada so not an option to return the wig with the high postage, tax paid and the exchange rate…. So I bought some crazy glue to cinch up the elastic tapes making them shorter.. that was a total mess as the glue did not adhere the same as my other many wigs have done when the elastic stretched out.. I then pinched the material together to sew it on each side to tighten to fit my head.. I have always worn an average size wig… This one with that hard thick cone or dome inside was something else!!! Why did I take the added expense of a hairdresser as well as buying the glue?? The color of the wig and the style now that I have the cap fitting properly suits me to no end!! I look stunning in it and it looks like my own hair. My hairdresser says it does not look at all like a wig….So I made all of these compromises! I suggest that they make this Wig in all sizes so we don't have to glue or sew our fingers trying to make them smaller than Average. I suggest that the Deluxe Soft Touch Grip be sold in a smaller size as wellBrenda

Very pleased with the quality of the wig especially for the price $25. I usually buy preplucked lacefronts at around $60 and so this is a great beautiful wig for learning customizing even though it doesn’t need tons but if your a novice at that like me. It’s very light weight on my head. The density and hair thickness are perfect for believeable daily wear. Now it’s synthetic shiny so it definitely needs dry shampoo. Optional foundation for the hairline and optional plucking but the hairline looks pretty darn good without it so that’s just to up it a notch to believability. I’ve enclosed pics straight from out of the box to display OP430 in natural lighting. I’m blonde so this also is a great price/wig to try really different colors without dreading wasting big $$$. 👍🏻 love it. Worth getting.vanessa.c
I bought 4 packs of black and 1 pack of the deep wine, but since I have my sides and back shaved then of course I have plenty of locs left over (and I'm glad that I do). Usually I'll do my faux locs myself by starting with Senegalese twists then by rapping them which, of course, would take forever so this was my first using crochet locs. They are definitely springy, but beware because if they get tugged at the ends on accident then they will just hang and not spring back. I already had to cut some ends because of such actions. Also, I noticed some were not made as well as others, so make sure you get an extra pack. Some were "puffy" so my hair isn't hiding as well as it should be (I did individual crocheting). I do love the look though but removed a star based of said flaws. I took another star off because the website was being glitchy. I used the website via my phone and when trying to add stuff other than the locs, my whole cart would be emptied. It did this several times, so I just gave up and only purchased the locs. When I went to purchase the locs, the total jumped by $1, which is no big deal because it was just a dollar but the fact that it jumped like that concerned me. But at the end of the day, I would recommend and use this hair again. It did get frizzy and snaggy the second day but nothing major yet. Also, I noticed the deep wine holds up better than the black. The only way this wig could be any better was if it just lasted a tad longer and if the curl pattern never fell. It looks more realistic as the curls fall, but it dries at the ends and will eventually need to be straightened, perhaps trimmed or cut and then converted to bun or workout hair. In the meantime though, you get MAD compliments – many people don't even realize its not my bio hair. I wear it regularly in 1B and recently switched to OP61327 (613 Platinum blonde ombre with 1B roots and strategically placed 27 and/or 30 for dimension and shine). I absolutely love it – I'm a whole different person. Only thing that Freetress could offer any better was if this colour came in Karissa's length and density. Arrived via USPS in very good condition, with normal time frame for USPS. The wig was easy to put on and take off. There were instructions for all of my purchase. I lost my hair within 6 days due to chemotherapy, so the helpful instructions were appreciated. The wig was similar to the online photo, but less curly, and that was a slight disappointment. STYLE: Very natural yaki looking wig style wise. The hairline however needs work. There's nothing natural looking about it. LACE: simi soft and blended with my brown skin perfectly. SIZING: I would say this is small cap. I only put the straps on the 3rd latch and it felt extremely tight and secure. The back however didn't lay down a perfect as the back.
Colour P99J/530. This was my first lace front human hair wig and I'm very pleased with my purchase. She was so soft when she came out of the box, but needed a lot of TLC after the first wear. After conditioning the wig and styling it, it's back to that baby soft feel and it's lasting more than one wear. The wig is a bit small for my head, which is on the big side, but a couple modifications and it fits perfectly. The colour and bounce are AMAZING. I get lots of compliments on this wig!Courtney M.

Color was perfect and I’ve had many compliments. Nice quality and cap size fits me really well. I have a smaller head but this avg cap fits great. Only complaint is that there seem to be a lot of shorter hairs sticking up at the crown. I’ve tried to mouse them down to no avail. I hope washing and conditioning will calm it down. I love Raquel’s wig quality and they last longer than any other I’ve tried.

Nora is a delightful fluff and go style with waves and almost curls. I got it in color 38, which is light ash brown with grey. It is supposed to be light ash brown with 25 percent grey (it seems a bit more than that;) It would be nice if Paula Young had at least one style featured in this color. The ash brown is very close to my natural color (a bit lighter) but Nora has more grey than I do personally. Nora arrived smelling absolutely wretched; I almost gagged when I opened the box. I had to wash the wig immediately. I used Paula Young shampoo. I thought I detected the (fumigant?) odor even after the wash, but when Nora dried, she no longer smelled. When I first put her on after she'd dried she was not pretty and the curls were mashed against the cap. I shook her vigorously and then took a wide tooth comb and really brought the fibers up off the cap. I wasn't rough, but I was deliberate in going over the entire wig to revive the fibers. I was able to achieve a style very similar to the catalog photo. In my photos, Nora has a more shag-like appearance, but once on she can be fluffed to the rounded silhouette of the catalog photo. Nora fits my 22.25 inch head comfortably and could be adjusted to go even a bit larger, or smaller. I find the fibers dry to the touch and just a bit coarser than my own very fine hair (although Nora's fiber does not look coarse.) Nora is comfortable to wear and an adorable style that goes with dressy as well as casual outfits. If you are prepared to spend a few moments waking Nora up after you first get her home, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at her fluff and go versatility. When this DANCE wig and COLOR ME EXQUISITE wigs arrived, upon removing them from the box they were cute, and the colors were pretty and the best thing they had going for them, However, they didn't look much like the ones the models in the pictures wore. And there is too much perma tease or "fluff" to them. They had really no style to them at all. Especially in the front, just couldn't do much with them. And didn't want to try since being careful with them is a must when trying them on. Very disappointed with these wigs. In my humble opinion they were not great and not keepers. So I am returning them and probably won't buy anymore wigs again. I had to wash the wig immediately. I used Paula Young shampoo. I thought I detected the (fumigant?) odor even after the wash, but when Nora dried, she no longer smelled. When I first put her on after she'd dried she was not pretty and the curls were mashed against the cap. I shook her vigorously and then took a wide tooth comb and really brought the fibers up off the cap. I wasn't rough, but I was deliberate in going over the entire wig to revive the fibers. I was able to achieve a style very similar to the catalog photo. In my photos, Nora has a more shag-like appearance, but once on she can be fluffed to the rounded silhouette of the catalog photo. Nora fits my 22.25 inch head comfortably and could be adjusted to go even a bit larger, or smaller. I find the fibers dry to the touch and just a bit coarser than my own very fine hair (although Nora's fiber does not look coarse.) Nora is comfortable to wear and an adorable style that goes with dressy as well as casual outfits. If you are prepared to spend a few moments waking Nora up after you first get her home, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at her fluff and go versatility. When this DANCE wig and COLOR ME EXQUISITE wigs arrived, upon removing them from the box they were cute, and the colors were pretty and the best thing they had going for them, However, they didn't look much like the ones the models in the pictures wore. And there is too much perma tease or "fluff" to them. They had really no style to them at all. Especially in the front, just couldn't do much with them. And didn't want to try since being careful with them is a must when trying them on. Very disappointed with these wigs. In my humble opinion they were not great and not keepers. So I am returning them and probably won't buy anymore wigs again. Sorry PY but your wigs need to be lighter weight, lay nicer, (some of us like a bit flatter style) far less perma tease or fluff, easier to wear right out of the box…Thanks anyway…Juanita
I am completely disappointed with my purchase. I ordered two of this wig because I really like the look of the style in the picture. The wigs I received will not comb into the style shown. The top is spiked and will only stand straight up and the bangs stick straight out and will not lay nicely against the forehead. I tried to tame it down with wig spray and hair gel but it won't lay down. The top hair stands straight up and the bangs stick straight out. The wig will not comb into a nice smooth pixie like the picture shows. I would not recommend a person buy this wig unless you want spiked hair that stands straight up at the top of your head and bangs that stick straight out at your forehead. The style does not resemble the picture at all !Eve

Nora is a delightful fluff and go style with waves and almost curls. I got it in color 38, which is light ash brown with grey. It is supposed to be light ash brown with 25 percent grey (it seems a bit more than that;) It would be nice if Paula Young had at least one style featured in this color. It has been a long time since I’ve had long hair. I was afraid of a long wig when I started this journey. I watched someone who made me rethink that. So I thought I’d give Heidi a try. She is beautiful. Light weight. Lace front. Not to curly not to straight. She has a great casual style to her. I love the layers around the face. She is beautiful in an updo. Easy to braid or put up in a claw clip. She is my hair on a good day years ago. She doesn’t tangle as much as I thought she would. I do comb her after I wear her and during the day once or twice if I wear her down. I enjoyed this one so much I ordered 2 more. This one is medium ash brown or #10. I also ordered #8 and # 8/12 A I think it is. Not sure of the color names. If you dreamed of having long hair or having it again, give Heidi a try.Gina
Heidi is very pretty EXCEPT the top of the wig screams WIG! and it sheds quite a bit. I have tried everything to create a more natural looking top of the head, but no success. There's so much permatese and tiny hairs sticking up all over the top, it looks terrible. I'm wearing this wig with a baseball cap or any kind of head covering. But, when I need to be around people, I wear a different wig with a monofilament top. If Heidi had a full monofilament top, it would be perfect. I would recommend spending more money and buying a full monofilament top wig if you're the least bit self conscious. I have 3 Heidi's that will get me through the days when I'm wearing some kind of hat, but I won't be ordering again. I'll stick with fully hand tied and full monitor wigs.Elizabeth
Even did a YouTube video on my channel: Tamara Wigs Out. At first, I did not at all like Heidi. I tried to train the front to go back but was not successful. And then I did the forbidden thing: I used a blow dryer! Yes, I got her to go back and not lay in my face. The color is gorgeous (#56 Silver) but in my video you can't see the color well, but I do talk about how to get the curtain bangs (well, that's what they were for me) to not fall in my face. I want another in a blonde shade, too! So many things you can do with Heidi. Put her back in a bun, throw her up in a clip up top, or whatever you like. She's quite versatile. I received this wig – # A1228, Meg Whisperlite Petit in SF 51/60. I returned it because it appeared to have been a return. It was thinned out or trimmed in some way that completely changed the style. I ordered and paid for a new wig. I own 7 of these wigs in this style, color and size, so I know what they should look like. I was very disappointed. This is actually the second time this has happened to me, but this time instead of trying to make the best of it and use something I was not happy with, I returned it for an exchange. I don’t think I should have to pay any restock charge or any other charge for this return. It was your fault in sending me a defective wig, not mine. I wear them as styled straight out of the box as they are. I am telling you, this one did not look like, nor was it the quality I have had in the past with this wig. I am not happy.Jo
This order is yet another attempt to find something that is wearable from PY. I bought 2 of these Meg wigs in different colors, and sent back the Lt Blonde, it looked like a light bulb on my head. The other one in Platinum blonde looks like a barbie dolls hair. I powdered it but it still glows. I paid my hair dresser to cut it down, and I trimmed it again. Pro: This order looked new, unworn. (My first looked very worn, I returned it.) Cons: Netting in front shows unless you plaster hair down just right. Sides & back are way too thick. Mine's been trimmed 2 times and it's still too much. The picture shows the hair off the neck, but after wearing the wig for 6 hours, my neck & upper back where the hair rubbed it was red and sore from the scratchy synthetic hair. I used the wrap band to keep it in place, and knew the wig made me extremely hot but when I took the wig off, my whole head was a sweaty mess. I haven't worn it since. I hate it. I ordered 2 Wiglets 7 days ago, in Humane Hair to see if that can work. They were suppose to "arrive no later than 4pm today," but no show. (I've come to NOT rely on this company's word though. So it didn't surprise me. Who knows when they'll show up.) Hope this review will help others. Keep your expectations very low with PY.LISA
You’ve changed the Meg wig, and not for the better. I bought this wig in 2015 and I loved it. Last year my sister bought the same wig. She came to my house with it, not happy. Saying differs than one I bought. I didn’t think she was right then. I do now, after recently buying again. It’s shorter. And let me say, I got a recent catalog, saw many I liked. The problem, only a select few in petite sizes. So I not Meg again, and disappointed in the change.Linda
