Though product says, blowout small head, it is huge and bulky to me. I air dry my thick, shoulder length hair to almost dry and this use this blowout brush. High is really hot and low is good. The cool is louder than other two settings. Except for it being bulky and a bit heavy and cumbersome for me, it dries my thick hair pretty good. But way to big to use on bangs! Still have to use flat iron for those! P.S. As for the "Bottom Line" you need to include "Maybe or a Possibility!" It would not work for short hair! Brush is way too big!Kathy

I was skeptical of how well this product would work but I am in love! I have shoulder length medium thickness wavy/frizzy hair. I've always dried my hair with a dryer and round bush but never could get my fair to lay flat without using additional hot tools. Finally, my hair is smooth, soft, and without frizz. I wouldn't say it added more volume than I normally get with a round brush but definitely much less frizz! My husband even commented that I had flat ironed my hair except I DIDN'T! It was all this dryer. I will say the high heat setting is very hot so be careful. I towel dried my hair until it was about 80% dry and then used the low heat setting just to be safe. I'm very impressed and hope it lasts longer than some of the previous reviews.Mommy19882

I have used the Revlon equivalent of this brush dryer for a couple of years. I can count on one hand how many times I've used my regular blow dryer in that time frame. I can almost emulate a salon blow out (I say almost because the man who does my blow outs is freakin awesome). Now, there are some things you have to realize going in. You should let your hair either air dry at least 50% or more or use a regular blow dryer first. It will take much longer to style your hair if you start with a soaking wet head. My routine is to wash my hair at night and let it air dry a while. Spray hair with a heat protectant. Than I use this volumizer to get body, volume, and shiny hair. Usually, I brush and go the next morning. Worse case is I need a bit of a touch up. Again, I spray heat protectant. Run this baby through my hair a few times. It only takes 2 or 3 minutes max. And I'm out the door. Yes, it is loud. Yes, it takes a bit of getting used to. But my hair is so much healthier since I'm not using nearly the amount of heat I used to with a blow dryer and a flat iron to reduce frizz. I get my hair colored a vibrant red every 6 to 8 weeks so damage and fade out are always things I need to be aware of. My color stays fresh for a much longer period of time. I will never go back to my regular blow dryer and brush routine. This has made life so much easier. And my hair has never been healthier and never looked better. When strangers compliment you on your gorgeous hair, well, that is a bonus!LisalouVA

This blow dryer is light weight which is a plus. I have natural curly thick hair and the double pik attachment worked really good in my hair. The temperature works okay on high but doesnt get very hot like other dryers. This is why I rated it a four out of five stars.kristinazumbalover26

I purchased two one for me and one for my daughter and the one have worked fine the first use but the next time I tried using it it started smoking and making a weird sound. I attempted to use it another time and got the same results, so it just sits under my bathroom sink. My daughter had no complaintsmfie9116

I love Love this hair dryer as far as how well it dries my hair and leaves it shiny BUTTTTT I bought 2 of the same exact blow dryer (the handleless one to be exact) and they both caught on fire !!!!!!! Well had this blower dryer at least 6 months doing my daughter hair it literally started shaking in my hand making popping sounds and caught on fire while I was holding it. Glad it wasnt my daughter using it. I reacted quickly snatched the cord from the wall. I thank God we ok. I didnt even wanted to give this one star it dosent desire one. So I bought both the bedhead at retail price and the Drybar blow dryer brush, on sale and mostly with points. Full disclosure, I only paid $60 for the drybar, so it wasn't a huge loss to experiment with which I like. Here are my thoughts: Bedhead wins on price for sure, though since I only paid like $60 for the drybar one I'm going to keep it because it's not *that* much more expensive and I'm curious as far as lasting, which one will keep up through time (which is TBD obvi) Drybar wins on handle comfort. It's much smaller in diameter both in the brush and the handle than the bed head, which makes it much less heavy and comfortable to hold. I also love the square tip because it makes it super easy to notice by feel if I'm losing the angle I want. They both have only two heat settings and a cool function, but here's where things get strange. I feel like the drybar is the same hotness, but it made my hair much frizzier the first time I used it than the bedhead. Like super frizzy! The second time I used it I switched to the lower setting when I was near my roots which helped, but makes it annoying to keep flipping between. Temp wise they feel the same, but I think drybar blows harder on high which is causing the frizz. So for blow power and heat drybar was higher but bedhead wins because more power isn't necessarily better, like standing in front of a jet engine might dry my hair fast but it'd be a mess lol They also both dried my hair in the same amount of time, even with the more power of the drybar, probably because I had to switch to low so often to avoid frizz. So they tie here as far as time (about 8 minutes total). I also think even though the handle was more comfortable with drybar, my hair got stuck in it a few times and that was so annoying. It's never happened with the bedhead and I think it's because it's wider. Overall I give bedhead an 8, room for improvement in the handle design and adding the square to the top sounds stupid but when I can feel it level in the back it makes it so much easier. Drybar I'd like less power and a wider design to avoid hair pulling and frizzing. And the retail cost is definitely not worth it to me so that brings it to a 6. Hope this helps someone in making a decision!Jenn

I have tried other more expensive name brand hot air brushes. They didn’t work as good as this Bed Head. This is the best for my thick course frizzy hair. Tourmaline does not dry out hair. I wanted a very hot, 3” oval barrel, high wattage. Some may need extra care to get used to but it’s manageable. Dries hair quickly, with salon like finish. Smooths hair. No snagging or tangling. I use no other hair tools. Not louder than other dryers. Use ear plugs if sensitive. I would definitely buy this dryer again. Hope it doesn’t burn out for awhile anyway. Definitely worth it, price, for quality of hair tool. Works better than expected and better than more expensive tools.Carole

First off my fault for not reading this was oval. It's about 4 1/2" from bristle tip to bristle tip on the wide side and 3" on the other. The barrel itself seems to be 3" X 1 3/4". The handle is kind of big too and my hand cramps when holding it. As far as loudness goes, it's not bad. I would say typical hair dryer. This did not give my hair the fullness I was expecting and got from my old round brush hair dryer. I can see where it would be better for long hair or for people looking for something to straighten there hair while drying. As now I've opened and used it I will keep trying to make it work, but for my fine, straight, somewhat short hair, I am not impressed.Unimpressed

This blow dryer has cut my dry time in half and although I have fine thinning hair I have an autoimmune disease that causes me extreme fatigue. Before the BFF I would have to take multiple breaks while getting ready for the day. I absolutely am obsessed with all things Head Kandy! I am in a committed relationship with all things Head Kandy! Well, wow. I didn't think a blow dryer could make this big of a difference. I have been using a Chi dryer for about 10 years now without complaint. I have thick, heavy hair. This tool easily does my hair in half the time, maybe less. The nozzle that circulates the air does an excellent job. Its not too loud to run with my baby in the next room. Easy to flip between hot/cool/ and speed settings. Light weight. Overall, beyond excellent quality. I was not willing to pay regular price which is why I held out so long, but snatched it up on the black friday sale and worth every cent.Hayli T.

This is a very good hair dryer. It dries quickly and efficiently. The only two things that are disappointing are that, one, it is quite heavy. It was said, in a review, that it was very light weight. It is not. The other thing is that after two uses, the lettering that tells what the settings are is disappearing. So I have to guess as I haven’t used it enough to set it right the first time. I really was hoping for the light weight part as I have one shoulder replaced and the other in rough shape. Disappointed.Joan T.

I returned this because of two reasons…. 1. The color was not good…. It really is difficult buying wigs or toppers online. Oftentimes the color is so different than what is shown. I try to google other reviews of the color, but that doesn't always work. 2. There really was way too much hair on this topper that it felt heavy. It was just about perfect right out of the box. I did read about the base of the wig kind of showing in the front but I sewed an extra little tiny clip right in the front middle and that fix that problem. With some artful styling and a little practice it's has been sheer perfection for me. I love the fact that it has some side and back pieces that blend beautifully with my hair. I've had thin, fine hair all my life and was graying in my late 20's. I've been coloring my hair for 30 years and it's taken it's toll. Not to mention the huge cowlick I have on the backside! I received these products for free from Influenster and Conair in exchange for my honest review. So I have thick hair and it’s wavy so straightening is usually a pretty long process from out of the shower to being done. The Knot Dr dries and straightens at the same time giving you that blown out look. From right out of the shower until what you see in the pictures took about 40ish minutes. Usually it takes about that long to JUST straighten so it saved me a ton of time! Some pros and cons: Pros: Saves time, relatively easy to use once you get the hang of it, keeps volume, can be used as a blow drier and a straightener, left my hair feeling SOOOO soft! Cons: the bristles weren’t the right ones for my hair it seemed (super flimsy), hard to get the roots, bigger learning curve than a straightener, blow drier is not super strong if you just want to dry your hair. Also, more difficult for long hair, I would probably want a bigger barrel. I loved how much easier it was to handle because the base of it is slimmer so I had a better grip on it while drying. It also doesn’t get hot in the handle area like my other one does, I was able to finish my blowout without having to stop to let the brush cool down. I also love love that the tip has that small handle space for me to use when I really need to stretch the hair out at the root. Came in clutch! Definitely travel ready (added it to this weekend birthday trip bag 🎉) Also, the bristles on this thing went through these curly curls like buuuutterrr, which is a huge contrast to how my other dryer brush handled my curls 🥲 The only concern was the fact that the brush detaches. Because I have coarse curly hair sometimes the brush would detach whenever I got ready to stretch the stretch the hair. I was able to quickly attach it again but for the thick curly girls reading, just be mindful of this. Other than that I really do love it, I’m going to try it on my daughters hair next weekend and see how it does with hers .cinthia.c

I purchased this and the raved about Revlon One Step to compare. Parted my hair down the middle of my head and used each on separate side. I like the Knot Dr better even with this model being the “small head” version of the larger original Knot Dr. and therefore the brush head is smaller than the Revlon. The on/setting buttons are conveniently in the front so I can change temp with the thumb of one hand instead of having to use two hands for the Revlon. The Knot Dr has a “cool shot” button that the Revlon doesn’t have and I can push it right after doing a strand with heat just with my thumb. The brush barrel is oval as is the Revlon, and does have less pinhead and nylon bristles and doesn’t grip my hair as strong as Revlon but my mid back length wavy half asian half caucasian hair didn’t fall out of it or get tangled either during use. The Knot Dr didn’t pull out as many hairs as the Revlon (see photo). The Knot Dr temps are less hot (less damaging) at High and Low and the Cool is cooler than the Revlon so I anticipate the Knot Dr won’t damage my hair with continued every other day use like the Revlon one could (my hair felt crispy after using the Revlon on High and it was so hot on my face and neck I had to turn it to Low-I did use a heat protectant on my hair prior). The Knot Dr did not make my face or neck burn even on High when using it under my hair section as it faces towards my face/neck. Each side of hair took about the same amount of time to dry with each unit. The only gripe I have is the handle is a bit thicker than the Revlon where you hold it and is a slippery plastic, but does go “in” for better grip. I would like it to be silicone non-slip but the unit is overall lighter than the Revlon which also has a slippery plastic handle and is heavier overall. I like that the Knot Dr brush head detaches for less space usage especially for traveling. I may try the full size Knot dr to compare as far as brush head size, gripping larger sections of hair/drying faster? and it comes with a root lift attachment that this one does not even though the photos show a pink one in the video. But I’m still keeping this small head one for traveling for sure. The main reason I like this better than the Revlon is my hair is smoother and less frizzy and in the end thats what I wanted. I think it’s because the brush base that the bristles are sitting in is tourmaline ceramic coated metal and not plastic like the Revlon so the Knot Dr doesn’t have to blow as hot as air out to get the hair smooth since the hair is running over the metal instead of plastic.Momto2catsinWA
