This week I’m borrowing Elvis Presley’s motto, “Taking care of business.” My last two goals for the month (sending out wedding invitations and decorating the living room finally) haven’t made any progress from being an idea on paper to actually happening, so it’s time to kick some butt and make them happen..TODAY!
These wedding invitations have become the bane of my existence. It’s like a grueling homework assignment that you put off until hours before it’s due. Unfortunately, this is one task that CANNOT be procrastinated.
From the start, I’m already in over my head with planning a wedding. It’s honestly something that I never envisioned happening, so it’s still a bit surreal to think that I’ve not only found ‘The One’ but that we’re also binding our lives together in front of 50+ loved ones in just 6 months. I’m also trying to do all of this under a budget and very DIY style versus hiring a wedding planner and letting him/her have at it. My last issue, which is what makes these damned invitations so tedious, is that over 60% of our guest list will be flying in from the Midwest. I have to include a map, hotel, flight, and transportation info. I’m just feeling a little overwhelmed and unsure of where to begin…other than with a bottle of wine.
We’re taking off to run some errands, maybe find some paint for the living room, and then sitting down to finally get these invitations checked off the list!
Wish me lots of luck and patience!
