The Pacific Northwest has spoiled me rotten. I came from the Midwest where the temperatures could reach well over 100 degrees F with 99% humidity in the summer (I believe the phrase, ‘swamp ass’ originated from here) and now any time it reaches the high 80’s in Portland I’m complaining! We had a brief ‘heat wave’ again last week that I survived with ice cold margaritas and spending most of my time outside to avoid the oven-like feeling in the house.
Another escape from the heat was a nice long hike with my good friend, Ashley, from Horsetail Falls to Triple Falls. I’ve done this hike before, but the terrain has gotten a little more treacherous due to landslides, but we braved it anyway and the reward was definitely worth it! The hike allows you to see 4 major falls, tons of creatures, and gorgeous plant life.
