Finally a day off! And how do I spend it? Working on the blog! Except when you get to do what you love, it never really feels like work anyway. 😉
Last week we escaped the city and hit the coast to explore a new beach. We decided to check out Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City which is home to the “other” Haystack Rock (the original is on Cannon Beach – watch the Goonies and you’ll know which one). We relied on Google to give us directions which lead us up a treacherous gravel hill in the middle of nowhere and told us we had arrived at the beach.. But after the minor detour and relying on instincts instead, we arrived just in time to soak up a bit of sun. There’s a wonderful brewery right on the beach, but we came prepared with wine, cheese, and sandwiches. We watched the sun set right behind the rock which made for the perfect view during our picnic.
After I was sick for nearly 2 months and the overindulging during the holidays, we decided to focus on our health again. We dusted off the juicer and started juicing again (not the steroid kind of juice either!) and we’ve been going to the gym on a regular basis. I still hate working out and always will, but I’m happy to see some results already. We also took a walk the other day to enjoy the early spring Portland is getting.
And of course an obligatory Punk photo for you all..
This week we’re preparing for the Evergreen Tattoo Invitational in Eugene, OR. It’s going to be a busy weekend but we’re looking forward to seeing some of our long distance friends, meeting some new ones, and of course taking in all of the amazing artwork that will be showcased. Annnnd I’ll finally get to show my completed thigh piece! It’s been about a year and a half and 45 hours of hard work and love on this piece so it’s exciting to finally show it off. I’ll be sharing photos of it here soon, but in the meantime you can follow me on Instagram to see some sneak peeks over the weekend!
Check back tomorrow for a brand new craft post!
