Wow! I just finished an installation of about 600 lf of baseboard and shoe molding using the Speed-Cope. I could not be happier nor more productive. I added rubber base molding on the top surface to give additional resistance to whatever I cut and have clamped an LED swivel head desk lamp next to the jig because being able to see what you are cutting certainly increases the odds of success. I would spend the money again but the product is a quality one and will not have to be replaced anytime soon. Go for it.Bruce P

I would give it a 5 if it worked with all moldings. Doesn't do well with thick molding, as referenced in prior reviews. The solution was to make a larger faceplate out of existing 1/2" oak plywood. Create you own size and go for it. The cuts are now superb!Mitch

I have been coping for years…tough on the hands! This jig really adds a high level of precision to the process. I use a Bosch JS572E with the orbital feature unselected, and a Bosch T101AO scroll blade…it's like surgery! But here is a tip I have yet to see in print. Before; you cut your miter, measure that wall angle! Cutting on a 45 and hoping the cope will handle it is a recipe for hard work. Remember, the wider the angle on the miter saw, the longer the cut. Think Baguette. You buy a baguette from the baker and it's 2" wide. You want more of a slice so you angle the knife. Same thing on the miter saw. If you cut a 45 degree and your corner is 88.5 degrees calling for a 44.25 degree miter, you cut will be too long. The bottom wall point will get there before the top leaving a gap and lots of hand work. So…if the wall is 90 degrees, by all means cut a 45. But if it is any other angle, measure the angle accurately and cut the miter accurately by dividing by two…THEN cope! I always have a file/rasp in my back pocket. One side is flat (rasp and smoothing file) the other side is curved (rasp and smoothing). Cutting the proper angle and using the speed cope tends to leave that hand tool in my back pocket and if it does come out, it's not for long.ralphonesti

My gal is very forward and usually she is off like a bolt when I mount., with me struggling to find the stirrups. These help a lot. I do notice two things that maybe others maybe could give advice…once my feet are in them..they don't always sit perpendicular to the horse…they tend to go at a slant..not sure if that is normal. Also, because of the way they hang, they don't always stay up when run up after riding..I've dealt with that by just swinging them over the saddle.Christina

I bought these after getting my foot hug up while dismounting from a lightweight composite plastic stirrup I used for years. Since I'm now riding a young, green mare, I wanted the safety feature of being able to slide my foot out, without the fuss of a quick release stirrup.
